The same can be said for LP... he couldn't have given a call to the A's beforehand regarding a funeral service for their granddaughter?

I believe that "rational" just isn't much of an option to the A's anymore, and how anyone can insist they act rationally under such a hateful, public onslaught and the despair of losing their only grandchild is beyond me.

I totally agree with you that this would be far more appropriate at this time and under these circumstances. I can't help but notice that even here in this thread, in discussing things like prayer vigils and memorial services for little Caylee, the hatred and rage against the grandparents she loved has to be included.

This has NOTHING to do with the grandparents imo. This has to do with remembering a little girl

I really believe this is a question of etiquette. I don't think a death certificate has been issued yet. As such, it is not appropriate to have a memorial service for Caylee. A vigil, yes, but not a memorial service until the death certificate is issued. Think about it. Have you EVER heard of anyone holding a funeral or memorial service for someone BEFORE they were declared dead and a death certificate was issued? The police saying they BELIEVE Caylee is dead is not the same as an issued death certificate based upon a preponderance of the evidence. Once Caylee is declared dead based on the proper evidence and a death certificate is issued, then having a memorial service is fine. To me, it's just a question of following the proper etiquette. Holding the memorial service at this time will appear to be a rush to judgement. That is not the way the American Justice System works. My recommendation to anyone thinking of doing this (are your reading this Leonard Padilla?) is to not do it. It is simply NOT appropriate.

For those of you who are wondering, nowadays, it is possible to get a death certificate for a murder victim based upon physical evidence. Waiting years to get a death certificate when a body has not been found is no longer necessary, particularily when there is no one who will benefit from the estate of the deceased.

I don't think a memorial to Caylee is about comfort for strangers. We all do care and feel as though we are attatched to this little girl but we should have compassion for her family who are deteriorating before our very eyes in their attempt to deny their greif. Caylee doesnt need us to comfort her, she is at peace. A memorial should not be forced on the people who need comfort the most.

Who is FORCING anything on the family. All they had to do is ignore it, but NO, they chose to make a huge scene instead.

They do not have to come.

It is NOT about them.

That is the problem now, they have made it ALL ABOUT THEMSELVES and NOT CAYLEE.

Agreed.....and what is this nonsense about "working with the FBI" and the "FBI turning this BP search over to me" BS.

This dude needs to get real, and those that think he is doing such a 'great job' need to take off the rose colored glasses and stop being so naive.

Did you put up $50,000 to try to get Casey to tell where Caylee was?

Im actually torn about the memorial. I would love to see one to bring closure, shed the tears and move on as funerals are meant to provide. If that is what this memorial for is great lets do it...

But if this is just a memorial and the next day will be endless newscoverage and endless A's then we might as well wait.

I dont believe the gps will ever have one, because I dont believe we will ever have a body. But will a memorial really end it all??

I think it's in poor taste and nothing but an attempt to gain more media and attention for LP.

That's what I though after I found out it was him organizing it, and I voted yes. Oooops.
I think an internet 'memorial' would be amazing. I can't go to Orlando, nor can most of us. If we were to spend the 2 hours or whatever is planned for the media circus 'Memorial', writing letters or calling officials to push for safer daycares, crosswalks, after school programs etc. Whatever children most need in our communities, we could make an official site for Caylee, and post our memorials to her.
Or we could pick a single childrens cause or charity and bombard it with good will!! In any case, it would be amazing to use our energies to get things done for all children, in memory of the one. Then it would be like Caylee achieved all those things. That's a fitting memorial IMO.

If it's not about the Anthony's, it's probably not about people who are not related to their granddaughter either.

DCF DOES have the authority tho

So sorry to contradict this statement, but this is not correct. :blowkiss: Answer is to the issue, not a challenge to the poster, whom I like.

DCF and Juvenile Court deal with abused, neglected and abandoned minors (there are also cases where a minor has committed a crime.)

So, since Caylee is not being accused of a crime, that leaves only the possibility of a NOW LIVING Caylee who has been abused, neglected or abandoned. IF Caylee is NOT LIVING, then DCF doesn't have any agency jurisdiction over the case and the Juvenile Court does not have any in personam (personal) jurisdiction or in rem (property) jurisdiction. A guardian AD LITEM is one appointed for the duration of a specific matter under litigation. GALs are not appointed for deceased victims in a filicide case involving a parent murdering a child. The probate court would handle a case of a child's person or property when the child is alive. A deceased child's estate would be handled in a decedent's probate of an estate.

Very often, DAs are very specialized and are not readily familiar with this civil law. Further, DAs are assigned to matters in the criminal/juvenile courts and in abused/neglected/abandoned ward of the juvenile court cases. So, when someone asks them, perhaps the wrong question about it, the first thing that will come to their mind is probaby a juvenile court. However, if the proper question is asked ... .

I'm not debating this issue. I'm answering it. :blowkiss::blowkiss:

Which was LOST totally!!! That man has at least $100,000 and likely more invested in finding little Caylee and if he wants to have a service, then MORE POWER TO HIM..........because the way I see it - That will most likely be the ONLY recognition that child ever has.

Isn't there anyone who behaves "normally" in this entire case?

Who is FORCING anything on the family. All they had to do is ignore it, but NO, they chose to make a huge scene instead.

Just like from the beginning of this they are trying to make it all about them.

They have no gratitude for people who wanted to help them, just an attitude of when they can go on TV.

I guess you had to be around Orlando a few days, to find out all the things people say they have done to prevent LE and others from finding Caylee.

I now have the utmost contempt for those people. They are not worthy of Caylee and after all I have seen, maybe she is much better off than she would have been growing up in that family.

I agree. It's not appropriate and some of the things that are going on lately seem to be totally against our judicial system and fair trial. Not that I care about Casey, but just the point of it all. The family is not accused of any crime and I believe they should have final say in any memorial service.

She is part of them?

Why were they not thinking about that when they let their lying, stealing, psychopathic daughter leave with her? They were not concerned then were they?

They were not concerned enough to find her before 31 days were they?

They were not concerned enough to even talk to or meet the alleged babysitter in years were they?
