PattyG has posted on this issue and LP just stated again on Headline News, that this was a prayer service, not a memorial service. If you listen to the actual service, not once does Rev G call it a memorial service. It was beautiful.
I heard Mr. Padilla's explanation that it was held at this site because they believe Caylee's body is most likely in the river, that was the reason for the flowers by the river.
I know Mr. Padilla had good intentions and I like him a lot, they definitely should have chosen a different venue and should have considered the family's wishes. They had indeed started out by planning a memorial, but Mr. Grund asked that it be a prayer vigil rather than a memorial. Sounds like it retained some elements of a memorial, unfortunately. All prayers for Caylee are good, I hope people are praying that she will be found alive.
