Red Flag!!! Then the following week he's billing for the David Lohr affidavit & interview, I guess it was time to go to plan Z!

^ Good one Nums, that is a massive red flag isn't it. These invoices are very good for being able to see what the defense is focusing on....anyone anywhere near Suburban with a smattering of mitigation by the looks.

LOL One of my favorite itemizations is the $100 he charged on Aug 3, 2010:

"Interview Witness and work on another"

. . . Makes it sound like he was trying to wear some witness down. :slap:

And JAC's comments (page 38) were: 'Prepare Defense discovery' is considered to be work that should be performed by a paralegal

I'm wondering if Judge Perry can make an order that Baez pay the JAC back for some of these costs?

Well, turning up on their doorstep increases the intimidation factor...it's too easy to hang up the phone on someone, but when they're in your face, not so easy to make them go away...

Any good dog can fix that problem toot sweet.
Then there is slamming the door in his face.

imo

Seems to me he does a lot of "Go-Fer" chores. He go-fer records, and he takes his jolly good time. Fills out requests for records, ditto on the time.

No wonder the JAC wants these duties done by a secretary/paralegal.

So I've calculated $5100.00 for TES calls and attempts to contact TES witnesses, so 127.5 wasted hours!

"Read and sign Affidavit - 1.5 hours."

The man seriously needs Evelyn Woods.

I know!! It makes my tummy upset to think that all those people had to answer his pointless questions and then the majority of them (FL residents) had to turn around and pay him for his time. :sigh:

Page 20 has a faint overlay of addition (appears to be from a calculator or adding machine). The numbers don't match anything on the page. Anyone have an idea what this could be?

ETA: Same thing, pages 26 and 35.

"Review and copy just released State discovery - 5 hours"

Copy boy just cost FL $200.

66 matches the number of hours for which he's billing. It's his addition of each days hours.

Yes, it was the total number of hours billed on all 3 pages of invoice #10-017.

Notice how he became more and more vague re his descriptions as time progressed? JAC, according to their comments in the spreadsheet at the end, doesn't approve of that. Go, JAC!!!!!

Nov 6 Meet with Mitigation Attorney and team (3 hrs) Invoice 10-026
Nov 6 Meet with Attorney and other member of the Guilt Phase Team (3 hrs) 10-027

Those two entries sure appear to me to be a double-billing of the same work.

The number of hours rejected/questioned is 350.5 of the 481.7 hours billed!

Go JAC!!!!!

Look at Exhibit D - The landscape pages. I added the number of hours from that list.

I'm looking at the exhibits C & D, PI Lyons didn't even bill using the right case number!!! The case number belongs to a man charged with theft and armed robbery!
