Hulk Hogan's son seriously injured another boy in car wreck

Sorry to get so huffy. Ex-EMT here who has given CPR to bodies (with brain matter spewing out) from wrecks like that....stupid...stupid.

That sucks. I'm sure the Hogan's will do the right thing. Whatever that is.

They can start by opening that check book, making sure their kid learns how to drive correctly and stop buying him cars that are pretty much designed to do nothing but go fast. :D

I recall in one of the hogan knows best episodes they had a device following where Brook was going with some guy friend. Always seemed to me as she was the protected one and the boy was a boy so they didnt have to worry about him.

The Hogan parents are enablers....they could have had monitoring equipment installed in that car that alerted them to high speeds, etc. This isn't the first time he's wrecked a high-powered car. They KNEW he was reckless. A lot of other parents are able to control their kids.

That's exactly how I always thought of the Hogans too after watching their show.

Hogan Knows Best is all acting. There is very little reality to it.

I know. After watching several family reality shows they all have the same plotlines.

I like what others said about Nick having to visit John weekly. I think he should have to help take care of him as well, not just visit. There should be some financial responsibility too.

It sounds like John's family was much more gracious about it than I'd be. God bless them all.

Granted, if he wasn't wearing a seat belt he might be in better condition. (Maybe)

please keep your prayers going... stranger things have happened in this world. I had high hopes for John's recovery. Now all we have left is prayer.

My prayers are with John & his family. I am quite certain John's parents can't afford to pay for the required care he will need as long as he lives. The lawsuit will come & probably very soon. With medical costs soaring out of control they'd have to.

Nick needs to be held responsible. He as much as killed John. Spoiled little rich azz punk is all he is. He lives off his folks merits & wouldn't be able to do anything on his own.

I feel he should be held criminally & financially responsible. If John would of said STOP & he never stopped / Nick would go to prison for a few years for kidnapping. We'll never know what went on inside the car.:furious:

My prayers will continue for this young man John G.
As for Nickyboy I am so pissed I just better leave it at that.
I think it has been known for a long time John's condition...
The H's are more concerned with who Brooke is dating and making sure she is not doing anything dear old dad doesn't want her to do than the wreckless_____ punk. I will no longer be watching their tv show. It sucks and this whole thing just really sucks.

Please remember that this was an accident. Nick didn't do this on purpose. He also has to live his life knowing that John will never be the same :(

MrsG,
I will continue to pray for all involved including Nick.
But if Nick is like most teens his age, he will go on with his life and he just may not visit John very often. I've experienced a situation similar to this one and know how things could possibly turn out.

Again I pray that John will make progress and have some recovery.
God bless all of you.

MrsG, would you mind telling me a little about "unauthorized" drag racing? I'm going just from what I've seen and heard in my lifetime, but maybe there's more to it.

Was this a public street that this accident happened on? I would think one would choose roads that didn't have a lot of traffic. Is it simply that the two cars line up and race to a certain point? The winner goes off into the sunset? Or is there money involved?

Any information will help me understand this type of thing. You don't have to say anything about this accident in particular. I'm interested in basic info. Thanks!

I live in the area, Court St leading to downtown, OMG it is so congested!!
I cant imagine drag racing in this area, it wouldve put alot of others on the road at risk, too.
I dont want to say anything about the family, the Hogans. I live in the area and you see them around, they are very down to earth people. About 4 yrs ago, we sat across from them at a local Chilis restaurant. Most locals try not to impose. Hulk Hogan owns a Gym here.
Im sure they are suffering and sad over this entire episode in their lives. I did hear that they have helped the young mans Mother ALOT.
Its sad and a shame we cant just yank the kids (ESPECIALLY BOYS) cars away and make them take a bus, this is a parents worst nightmare I would suppose:(
I would imagine this will stay with Nick Bolea (sp) the rest of his life.
Its too bad we cant make them drive cars that will only go a certain speed!! (like 45 and under)
I am so sorry for the young man who is now in such awful condition :( and his family.

Absolutely not. This is not the first time this kid went speeding in an automobile. Obeying the law and accidentally getting into a crash is an accident. What Nick did was against the law, therefore he should have known that what he was doing was dangerous, i.e., NOT an accident.

I think if John's mom can forgive Nick others can too. And yes, it was an accident, no matter how you slice it. No one intended for the car to go off the road. Emotion is fine, but don't let it cloud rationality.

The law doesn't work that way. Otherwise, why would we need prisons? After all, every criminal is sorry and some even are lucky enough to have the forgiveness of the victim's family. Have you seen this kid's driving record? He was breaking the law in a very big way and someone came close to dying. Why should the law suddenly back down and say well the mom forgave him, why shouldn't we? That's preposterous. No one EVER intends to hurt another person in a driving accident. That doesn't mean that punishment for that "accident" is taken off the table. Negligence must be punished. Even if the kid isn't charged with anything, his family should at the very least compensate the injured boy's family.

Law law law, who cares? None of us have any clue what the Hogan's are enduring or what they are doing for John and his family, so why sit here arguing and getting angry and calling for Nick's head? Life is too short for this stuff.

Some are shorter than others because of kids liek Nick.

Nick has made some poor choices. Many young people do. Unfortunately his family kept him stocked with fast, cool cars. Police let him off with warnings repeatedly. I don't know for sure that his parents were aware of his continued and repeated pattern of reckless driving. If they were then they are no better than the police who didn't hold him accountable for his actions. What lesson is he supposed to learn in that environment other than he can do whatever he wants?

The next part of that is belief that you seem to have when you're young that nothing bad will happen to you. You're smarter than other people, a better driver than others, etc. I'm not saying that all kids are like that so please don't flame me. I have 3 boys and there are times with all of them that I could just try to shake some sense into them. Nick's actions from here on out will tell if this has been a wake up call for him or not.

Hopefully, if he is still allowed to have transportation at all, they buy him a Segway. He is unlikely to injure anyone seriously with that.
