Hulk Hogan's son seriously injured another boy in car wreck

So, all parents who have children that choose to D&D have bad parenting skills? I am constantly on my teens about making the right choices, the dangers of certain decisions, etc. So if they happen to choose to engage in activities that they know are wrong and off limits in our household, I have bad parenting skills?

What Nick did was wrong no doubt about that and he deserves to be punished.

You also have to remember that what you see on reality TV is not really reality, it is the version of reality that producers want you to see and what they feel is appealing to the audience. We have no idea how Nick's parents and family have addressed this.

OK, just saw that. :(

I thought it was a little heartless to mention in their most recent statement that Nick was wearing his seatbelt and John wasn't. That seems to me to be in preparation for a defense argument.

I'll keep John and his family in my prayers. So sad.

When all else fails - blame the victim's actions! I don't know a thing about the Hogans, but they look like real scumbags right about now...

No, I think they are bad parents because they continued to give him access to a fast car and insurance when he had already proven to be irresponsible behind the wheel.

I attempted to watch 2 episodes of that show and it was enough for me. They should have paid more attention to teaching him the dangers of reckless driving and less attention to their daughter's "singing" career. I use singing in quotes because while I am sure it is singing to someone, it definitely is not to me!

My car doesn't move one inch until everyone is seatbelted in. Just because John didn't put his seatbelt on doesn't mean that Nick had to drive anywhere. After all, it was Nick's car and his responsibility. It was his job to keep his passengers safe. Isn't that what being a responsible driver is?

I agree. Ever since my car accident, i make everyone in my car wear there seatbelt and more than half of my friends hate it and complain and i've actually told of one of my friends to get a ride from someone else then because he refused to put his on.

I'm the complete opposite. My kids have to wear their seatbealts - as do other minors who ride with me - but adults are on their own when it comes to that.

I think Nick looks like a bozo in all of this, but I don't think for one second that it was Nick's responsibility that John wear a seatbelt.

Thats right it does have nothing to do with it Class. The statement their lawyer made that the Bolea family will now work to educate the public about the importance of wearing seatbelts, Are these people kidding? John wouldn't be brain damaged if Nick hadn't been drag racing while drinking. What a nerve.

Yeah, he needs to be preaching to the world about underage drinking as well.

Yay for you, KC! That's very responsible. I didn't know you were in an accident. I'm glad you are ok.

We don't go anywhere w/o our seatbelts on either. My husband  , however, only puts his on when I'm driving a little fast because then he thinks we're going to die. He doesn't know I only do it till he puts his seatbelt on! LOL (And it's not that fast!)

"buckle up or bug off" is my motto. I buckle up before I start my truck and if my passengers don't do the same...they don't ride with me. that's the way I roll...

It's a state law now in Indiana that every passenger in every vehicle must be buckled up, and the driver is held responsible if anyone isn't.

The driver of the Dodge Viper, 22-year-old Daniel Jacobs, has been issued a court summons for Reckless Driving.
Clearwater Police has also confirmed that the Dodge Viper did belong to Hulk Hogan, and Jacobs was a friend of Nick's who was driving it.
In addition to Reckless Driving Involving Serious Bodily Injury, Bollea is also charged with:
  • Use of a motor vehicle in commission of a felony
  • A person under the age of 21 operating a vehicle with a breath-alcohol level of .02 or higher
  • illegal window tint

I live in same area as Boleas/Hogans. It is a LAW here to use your seatbelt and if youre not, you can get pulled over and get a ticket.

Both parents of the accident victim now have attorneys, theyre now waiting for alegal Guardian to be appointed for their son. Everyone involved is lawyered up.

oh and he, the victim in bad shape will soon be moved down to Bay Pines VA, they sait tonight. They said he has severe brain damage.
They said the kid was driving a 50K car, some kind of Toyota. Do you think he worked alot of hours at local grocery store to pay for it:sick:
I think it was Nicks fault he shouldve told his passenger to buckle up, it probably wouldve saved his life. If youre not responsible enough to do things like this especially when youre racing alot down busy city streets, then take the consequences. his bail was only 10K.

Thanks!! Yeah i learned my lesson the hard way by not wearing my seatbelt the night of my accident and broke my lovely leg!! So now that i realize accidents can actually happen to me! (imagine that..my parents told me that for years and i never listened) i dont want to take any chances of losing my life or have anyone in my car lose their life if i were to get into another accident!!

Thats so funny about your husband. How come all men think were such horrible drivers!! uggh. My boyfriend ALWAYS drives my car because he doesnt trust my driving!!!

I think you would change your mind about that if you were involved in an accident and your adult friend passenger wasnt wearing there seatbelt and they died.

Yeah it is a law here too and has been for some time. Originally they couldn't pull you over for seat belt violation only,
But,now they can pull you over for just that if they want.
I make my passengers buckle up also. Because the ones that don't buckle up are the ones that will sue me when we crash and they are injured because i drove them while they weren't wearing a seatbelt.I have seen it happen.
I'm the captain, don't like it, catch the next bus.:p
