Jim Cantore, one of the most famous peeps on the Weather Channel. He always seems to be assigned to where the worse weather occurs.

ETA: If there is a storm, you do NOT want to hear JC is in your area.

I used to think he was arrogant
Then I read some of his bio and my heart goes out to him
Appears to just be a man that is enjoying his life to the fullest

Reed Timmer is there, too (and live-streaming). (I can't tell exactly where he is, but he's on the coast).

Hurricane #Ida has intensified to a truly sobering degree overnight, with maximum winds now around 150 mph, placing it among the strongest hurricanes to ever hit #Louisiana. Landfall will occur within a few hours. The eye is currently moving in the general direction of Grand Isle, LA, and the eyewall could pass very close to NOLA.

Our thoughts go out to everyone in the path of Ida - please be safe.

(I am new here so I hope I’m not overstepping any boundaries with this post). I hate to ‘like’ your post, but you, your family, and all of your fur babies will be in my thoughts and prayers.

For anyone in the danger zone, please check in whenever you safely can do so. I have family in the area so am watching it’s trajectory closely. Please take good care y’all!

I understand making the choice to stay. I hope you stay well.

There are many resources on guard waiting to help. You just have to hold on and make it through the first 72 hours.

I stayed for Katrina so we are all to familiar with hurricanes. But we still do everything possible to protect ourselves and family. Praying it moves through fast.

That's the one thing I'm hearing which seems positive. Forward movement at 13 MPH. Be safe.
