I wanted to ask this before, but was not sure it would be polite. Thanks, CARIIS. perhaps we can keep a running list, if you all could copy just the list and then add your location? if you suddenly had to leave or lost power, we would have a better idea if we should be highly worried about you. :grouphug".

So here we go:

Thank you so much - man what a couple rough few months. Back surgery, fainted and got a concussion, only to break my toe and tear my tendon in a freak accident and have surgery for that, too. Just got off crutches about a month ago. I feel terrible even worrying about my vacation when these poor people are literally fighting for their lives in this nasty storm. My love and light and thoughts are being sent out to all. As of today we may need to push back the trip, should know more in the next 24 hours.

My little one will be so disappointed, she has had a running countdown...but better safe than sorry. Any insight about #nowayJose, and whether he may follow the same track? Trying to figure if we are going to make it only to get hit by him on the backend.

Oh my gosh, you've really been hit with it! Wow, so sorry to hear all this.

Sounds like about ten years worth of hardship and catastrophe, packed into just a few months.

I can easily understand why you've been living for this vacation, just to get away and catch your breath.

I agree with everything MzOpinion8d said too that it's okay to be worried about your vacation when others are having a hard time. You've done the hard time too with Harvey, and everything else you mentioned.

Your feelings are so understandable. No need to apologize.

Do what you need to do to take care of yourself and your family. ( Hate it that your daughter is worried too. It's so hard to see kids get disappointed when they've looked so forward to something like this. )

Please let us know how it goes. We're here rooting for you!

We are in south Georgia (Lee County) put our local officials have been advising us since Monday to be prepared for we will have some affects from this hurricane. We are about 150 miles away from the east coast and about 90 miles from the Florida Gulf. I am extremely worried for all of my family who lives here. We have suffered damage before from Hurricanes coming in from the Atlantic or Gulf when the swath of the hurricane was vast, like Irma. I have seen some of the string models showing it can hit around Jacksonville and then come right up into the area where we live.

Also, as you and I discussed previously, one of our daughters, hubby and two grandchildren live right outside of Charleston. They are watching the reports closely and told us they will most likely start trying to come to our area on Friday or even tomorrow to beat the traffic which is more inland since they live so close to the beach in SC. The last time they had to do this it took them hours and hours to get here due to the traffic being backed up for miles on end.

One of our other daughters and granddaughter both live in the Mexico Beach area of Florida. They have already boarded both of their homes up and are also coming to stay with family in Georgia.

I have been constantly watching the weather channel this morning and one of the leading experts said the thing to watch for is which side of the hurricane hits all of these islands/countries as it makes its way toward the USA. As each are hit and where they got the main brunt of Irma will determine the path its going to take as it barrels toward the states.

We have so many other family members who live in Florida on the coast so we are worried about them, and for everyone who may be in the path of this monster hurricane.

The thing I worry about most here is the strong tornadoes and straight line winds that can come from this hurricane. I don't think it will stall like it did with Harvey or when Alberto hovered over us for over a week in 1994 causing massive flood damage and loss of life.

I am praying for everyone who may be in Irma's path. Please be safe and heed the warnings of federal, state, and local officials. Irma is going to be very unforgiving once she hits us I am afraid. :(

Oh, oceanblueeyes, my heart goes out to you with the worry and concern you're dealing with! I hate this for you.

It's hard enough to think straight when it's fear for your own safety, but it's that much worse when it's your children and their families. Such a horrible, helpless feeling.

Many prayers for safety for you and all your loved ones! Please keep us up to date...

I'm just south of Oceanblueeyes, and understand the apprehension and fear of not knowing where Irma will go nor how she will affect our area. No matter what, nothing is forever and nothing can be changed regarding this storm. I pray...

I can't get any of the cameras over at earthcam.com to load up. Is it just my computer or is Irma screwing with EVERYTHING out there?

It's working for me at this time.
