Really??? Wow...thanks Tom'sgirl. I had no idea....got them from a friend who said her coworkers brother took them.
I know, I get the same thing saying a friend of a friend of a friend took the photos. It was a funny series of photos though, "Ozark Motorhome" and other funny pics.

I even got one from my sister inlaw with a photo supposedly from Iraq that her son, my nephew who was stationed over there............in reality it was a photo taken years ago in Afganastan.

I'm not very gullible, usually check a lot of the emails I get out on Truth or Fiction site. I got some photos of the Tsunami that were fake (digitally enhanced of a wave) that I didn't think was funny.

I still havn't heard from Tammy. I keep trying to call, but keep getting the same busy signal on all their cell phones. I even called the house number (like, Duuhh...That's gonna' work)
I'm sure they're fine, and I've searched the internet on info about Vancleave & Gulfport, but most of it is hours old. I'm in the store now, so no TV.I think I'll stick right here with my friends. You guys seem to have the most current updates. Keep posting.(hubby says he's not worried...they're fine & I shouldn't be freaking out...he's probably right, but I'm a MOM and a GRANDMA...it's in my nature).

LOL.....I don't usually fall for stuff, but only got those TWO pictures, and I knew my friends co-workers family was there. I will tell my friend, because I know for certain she felt they were real too! :)

I'm in TN and the storm is heading this way. Schools are closing already due to potential flooding, tornados, etc. Our roads always flood out. However, nothing like the folks in Louisiana. Prayers are definitely there.

For any of you out in the mid-west or other inland places far from this hurricane, it may effect you.
Katrina brings more bad news for U.S. pump prices

By Chris Baltimore
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - There is a new name for what ails U.S. drivers at the gasoline pump, and her name is Katrina.

If things weren't bad enough last week with the average U.S. retail gasoline price hitting a record $2.61 a gallon, Hurricane Katrina struck at the heart of the U.S. oilpatch on Monday.

Katrina's 135 mph (216 kph) winds walloped crude oil platforms and shut down about half the Gulf of Mexico's oil production.

The storm also shuttered eight Gulf refineries that normally churn out about 1.8 million barrels of gasoline each day -- about 9 percent of daily U.S. needs.

I am in the Atlanta area and we are having "cells". Tornado warnings for 3 metro counties, thunderstorms etc. Touch down in northern Carroll County. My daughter has already lost power.

Our prayers worked last night for New Orleans....it wobbled and lost a little strength and prevented an apocalypse.

Is anyone following the news about what is really going on? The refinery's can be placed anywhere and considering, should be off vulnerable areas of hurricanes. So, why are the refinery's being placed where they are most vulnerable?I think we have big time politics going on. I have heard Mary Landrieu several times today and all I want is not to see her face. She is already asking for money for the marshlands and bodies are beginning to be seen floating.

Louisiana politics as usual and as usual I am so disgusted. As taxpayers, and citizens we really need to pay attention.

So, tomorrow we you go to fill up ask yourself this... who is pulling the strings?

Not to be spreading more doom, but I am wondering about something.
Ok, NO didn't get a direct hit, and may have saved the city. Never the less they are having trouble with flooding. Ok, Katrina is expected to move up the Missippi river valley causing storms and dumping water as she goes. I am in Ohio and they are already warning that we will not only get the storms, but could possibly get flooding here. Now, our floods eventually ends up in the Ohio river, which dumps into the Mississippi. Which will already be full, possibly flooding due to the storms they have already had. What are the chances that NO is not out of the woods- due to flood waters from the north causing additional flooding in NO. I know there are locks and dams all along the Ohio and Mississippi, but the flooding they are expecting is going to have to go somewhere.

That's what I was thinking, CP!

Still sending prayers out to those affected! We have friends in Lawrenceville and Gainesville.

Stay safe!

Keep listening to Jeanne Meserve of CNN. Things are happening that we didn't want to happen. The gas station aspect is so stupid. More to come, I am sure.

Heavenly.......I'm thinking about ya! I heard earlier that the Gulfport area is isolated right now with no land lines or cell phones and the roads are impassable because of all the trees down, etc. I'm sure Tammy will call you just as soon as she can! As a mother I'm sure you're ever so anxious to hear from her. I would be beside myself. Hang in there.....the call with come soon...just not soon enough for Mama. :) Keep us posted!

That is what I said in another post. Jeanne Meserve has already reported about seeing a body floating.Yes, it wasn't the worst expected but stil there is a lot going on that we don't know about yet. All, so far, is about downtown and the commercial aspect not a lot about the human aspect. The rip in the Superdome has nothing to do with what else is going on. Stay tuned.

we are expecting bad weather; rains, wind...etc.through this area tomorrow ( Near Kentucky, Tenn. line, in South central Ky)

Not looking forward to that!

We already have a lot of flooding in nearby county, sadly enough that a 10 year old girl is reported missing after seen sweep away while playing near some flooded area.

See, that is the thing a lot don't recognize. Hurricane Dennis had a casualty in Atlanta not on the coast.

I am having a hard time keeping up with all of them.

We will be getting the storm in NW Pennsylvania on Wednesday and they are already warning people in flood-prone areas to be on alert.

I agree that New Orleans will have a prolonged period of floodig due to its location at the mouth of the Mississippi Riveer and the fact that the storm is heading northward and will be feeding water into river tributaries.

My biggest problem right now is that no one is reporting on Slidell. No one and it was an importent point of the hit. Something is up there and I am sure it isn't good.If anyone is from that area, please report.
