Hurricane Olivia (Pacific) - September 2018

If Ventusky's projection of Olivia's trajectory turns out to be correct, then HI could be staring down the barrel on 12th September. Historically hurricanes have tended to veer away from HI and pass safely by the islands but this one's projected trajectory does seem to indicate a direct hit or a very close pass to the north.

Olivia grew to a Category 4 hurricane with winds at 130 mph and is expected to cross into the Central Pacific on Saturday.

Some intensity fluctuations are possible, but the latest forecast models put Olivia as a Category 1 hurricane just east of the islands on Monday. It was previously expected to a tropical storm.

It is expected to be nearest, dangerously close to, or perhaps even over the islands Tuesday through Thursday.

Wow A Cat 4 is pretty bad already.

Ive always wondered why Hawaii never seems to be hit much by them. This will be interesting with this one. Hopefully it will turn out of the way.

It's supposed to be downgraded to Cat 1 when it's just east of the islands on Monday.
