TM, the eye is pretty wide, so maybe you can rush out to pick up some during the lull. You probably want to find a liquor store that is facing South, as the windows may already be broken--LOL. We could all give you our shopping list; as long as you are going out, you can pick up a few things for us.--LOL

Yes DD, that, and rent a large space just beforehand (preferably a warehouse), somewhere away from the coast, so that you will have a place to store all of your new found possessions. Oh, and it would help to have an amphibious vehicle to get around easier.

904 MB; that's really a nasty low pressure.

The record low central pressure ever, for a hurricane that hit the U.S., is 892 MB (the 1935 Labor Day Hurricane).

904 is what Katrina got down to.

There is a band of cool water before landfall, but that is followed by a band of warm water, so there will be some major fluctuations it sounds like. But it sure did strengthen fast!

That pretty much does it, right Buzz?

Well, I will be keeping my .45 handy and my trusty yellow lab.

We are not on city water so when we lose power, I lose water. Fri morning I'll fill up everything I can find with water......bathtubs, ice chests, and even the crawfish pots :woohoo:

The Austin area is running low on supplies! I've had friends call saying there are actually people squabbling over tuna and crackers.....my friends have not been able to find water, flashlights, or batteries. I'm glad I shopped early....maybe I shouldn't have told them how stocked we are LOL! J/K...we'll share :)
