There are several missing-persons cases in the region, and if they are human, maybe we can find some solutions. They were uncovered by landfill employees this past weekend.

Are you folks ready for this? It WAS a human femur, sort of. It was a medical-grade replica.

Investigation closed.

(Sorry, don't have a link yet, but I just heard it on our local news.)

CLINTON Co., Iowa (KWQC) - The suspected human remains found in the Clinton County landfill were found to be a ‘medical grade replica,’ according to deputies.

Tuesday the suspected femur bone was examined by a Forensic Anthropologist at the State Medical Examiner’s office, according to the Clinton County Sheriff’s office in a media release. It was determined the suspected bone was a “professional grade medical replica” of a human femur.

On the one hand I'm relieved it wasn't a missing person. On the other hand somebody's family could have had news...

This was the first I noticed of a "Resolved" category. And I'm glad it was resolved this way, too.
