Thanks for the new article. It is looking more and more like at least part of her story is true. From the article:

Third Cadaver Dog Flags Remains at Alleged Iowa Serial Killer's Burial Site

IMO it’s looking more and more like this whole thing is fabricated. I hope Lucy gets the help she needs.

Help me understand how three cadaver dogs indicating means “the whole thing is fabricated”

I agree that the whole thing is looking to be fabricated and I don't see the cadaver dogs "indicating" overriding the fact that no remains have been found. One person has claimed that multiple family members were involved/witnesses, but only she remembers the events, and the others deny it.

I'm not seeing any information about these dogs and more importantly, the qualified? handler/training. Is there another source that gives this information, if you know? There is a mention that the same handler brought another dog to the location. Is there one handler saying that 3 of his/her dogs "indicated"?

How can you say no remains have been found if there hasn’t even been a dig yet?

A different kind of dog, but I did witness 2 bloodhounds track 6 miles south for a missing person who was found 8 miles north recently. So they are not infallible.

The claim is that 70 ish bodies are buried around the 5 acres and possibly on adjacent properties. Supposedly, the cadaver dogs have only alerted at the well area which has been covered over with many feet of dirt. The well area is going to be difficult to access, but the rest of the property is not. Where are the other bodies? Why didn't the dogs indicate anywhere else? MOO And the FBI doesn't seem interested.

Was Donald Studey really a serial killer? Sheriff, townspeople don't count it out.

Sheriff Kevin Aistrope said "The FBI had “backed away in the last couple of weeks” for reasons he would not elaborate." FBI also talked to McKiddy in 2021 and looked into the case more than a year ago.

I understood that the sister denies the story, the brother died by suicide. And the third sibling has not been found or responded. I do not believe this is fabricated, and I believe the cadaver dogs are alerting to something. MOO

It’s a huge leap from dog’s alerting to possible human remains to concluding this guy killed 50-70 people. Not a leap I’m willing to make at this time.

I found the other sister easily, I’m sure the police know who she is. The media probably didn’t bother looking too hard at this stage.

Right but it’s an even huger leap to say it’s a fabrication, especially with all the rumours, the specific details and the dogs alerting.

We don’t know the truth yet but it not like she’s spun the tale out of thin air. It’s worth investigating and I hope the police don’t take the easy way out of dismissing her as a fantasist.

Unless her stories prove to be true, it’s actually quite a lot like she’s spun the tale out of thin air.

She’s obviously had a hard life and her dad was by most accounts a violent character. That’s not spinning it out of thin air; if untrue, it is a result of her trauma.

What’s obvious is one of these two sisters is being truthful and the other is spinning tales.

Lucy Studey told Newsweek and police that the count may top 50 to 70 bodies with her father killing several a year. Police reports show she first reported about five to 15 bodies in a well. Despite that inconsistency, investigators say they believe her story.
I'd be more apt to believe her first statement over the 2nd. MOO

Being around a violent father must have been so terrifying for these children. We have all speculated, but have no proof that his wives suicides may not have been at their own hand. I recently read a story, and it shows that even after a body is buried, the cause of death can be changed. The trauma that is left from a childhood around these circumstances must be completely horrible to live with. Some may block out the past, and some may relive it nightly.

This guy's mom died of an "accident". When his stepmom also died of an "accident", investigators arrested his father. Here is the story I am referencing: "I watched my dad murder my mom. I didn't realize until years later"

Growing up in an abusive environment is tough, each individual will react differently. IMO there is enough circumstantial evidence to warrant further investigation. The number of victims that Lucy is throwing out there is irrelevant, I think she’s saying if I witnessed and helped from 5-10 victims, there must be more… and realizing that one of wells is on the property of the former poor farm adds another variable…if remains are found it would have to be determined if it was an actual murder victim and not a former poor farm resident…

“Growing up in an abusive environment” is speculation as well.

No it’s not. Even local police were scared of him. There’s plenty to corroborate that he was not a nice man.
