The dogs tracked to his coat and then a field drive way very near.Parked in what driveway? This doesn't fit the phone track.

We know he arrived at the Hwy 20\71S exit at 12:18. His truck was at its final location at 12:40. Something that should have taken less than 10 minutes took 22 minutes. What we don’t know is if the truck crawled up that road doing 15 or 20 miles an hour or if he was stopped at the intersection for 10-15 minutes and then turned north.Great post . Everyone else seems to think whatever happened happened way before it did . But your correct with your timeline I believe . Whatever it was happened at that intersection. Kinda leads me away from him leaving on his own . It seems as if something went down right there . It's hard to imagine why he would be a victim of foul play. So I go back and forth. But honestly my guy has said someone did something or took him for whatever unknown reason . My heart breaks for this family . This one I would love to see dad come home . I wish for the best in all cases of course. But this family needs him. He's everything to them, the provider too.
I don’t think drugs have anything to do with this either, but what if the scenario was a personal drug buy rather than him transporting? If the plan was a "meet up" to drop off drugs, and he was running late, why even detour north 4 miles. Why not just have whom ever he was meeting up with, meet him at the Hwy 20 off ramp to Hwy 71?
This is rural Iowa, not the middle of town we are talking about. At that time of night there would be little to no traffic. David probably could have stood out on the exit ramp holding a box of drugs waiting for someone to show up and no one would have noticed or been the wiser.
I don't think drugs have anything to do with this. There are a heck of lot better ways to transport drugs than using a truck driver hauling baby pork chops. Not to mention the short distances we are talking about.
In this scenario could whoever stopped him make him show them “whatever” they want to see, take or sell etc.? And then dispose of him there or close by? Idk I’m grasping at straws at this pointI don’t think drugs have anything to do with this either, but what if the scenario was a personal drug buy rather than him transporting?
“many truck drivers who know they must drive too long are turning to illegal drugs to force themselves to stay awake. One study uncovered that truckers use cocaine more than any other drug. Because trucking companies are not required to do hair tests, the number of truckers guilty of this seems to be largely underreported.”
While the article mostly refers to long haul truckers, the short haul folks get exhausted, too, especially if they are making many runs a day. David’s wife said he was always exhausted, always running. So much so that she sometimes didn’t speak to him for a couple of days at a time.![]()

My problem with this scenario is that if David’s disappearance is the result of a drug deal gone bad, why was his wallet with $2000.00 in cash left at the scene and why no evidence, (as far as we know), of any kind of a struggle? Furthermore, a dealer teaching a lesson would not cart off a dead body when he was already in the middle of nowhere.
I am in no way implying that David was involved in any kind of drug use, just trying out various scenarios to see what might fit.
After searching over 100,000 acres over several days without a lead they have no where else to search . They need a tip.
Yeah. The only way I can think of now that drugs could be a cause is if he was asked to deliver something first to someone, and he wasn’t keen on the idea, but went along with it. Maybe their meeting point was just north of that intersection. And when he got there, there was an altercation. Maybe someone who gave him the items to deliver didn’t include everything and they took it out on him. But that seems rather elaborate and not where my head is right now.If he was killed because of drugs, it wasn't because he couldn't pay his debt or pay for the drugs he was getting at the time.
Why kill your customer?? That sounds like a bad business practice.
I have never been able to tie drugs to this from any angle I try and look at it.
As far as I recall, we haven’t learned what color shirt. I see a few older articles that said “Wrangler blue jeans” but that could be a mistake by the journalist who may wrongly assume all Wranglers are blue jeans. Other articles just said ”Wrangler jeans.”Have I somehow missed it, or has nobody (either Sarah or LE) ever specified exactly what Dave was wearing?
"Wrangler pants" could be almost any colour. Blue jeans? Brown corduroy? And his shirt could also be any colour. We know the jacket that was found was an orange colour... but it was found in the ditch, so wherever Dave went, he wasn't wearing it.
The colour of Dave's clothing could be really important to how easy it would be for his body to stay hidden.
From MSM images/video -- David appears to mostly wear hooded sweatshirt and t-shirt.Ok, this article says she couldn’t recall what color shirt, and Newsweek printed the same.

What I still don’t understand is why his wife didn’t alert le once she was told he didn’t show for the unload? (First thing in the am) iirc. Why did she wait all day before she notified le of him missing? I may have missed something so I apologize if it’s been noted already
I think it's the delay being mentioned was from the time boss knocked on the door in the morning saying David didn't unload and he doesn't know where David is and the time Sarah actually called LE which was about 8-9 hours later when I believe the boss man told Sarah to call LE and tell them it may be a medical issue to get attention and get the ball rolling on LE looking for him.I'm not understanding OP comment re wife delayed? Wife says it was not unusual for her not to hear from DS the next day (Tues). Also, she learned he did not unload from his boss who knocked at her door. Police called her from DS phone that afternoon -- search was under way.
I understood it as the wife finding out fairly early in the morning that he was a no show for his next unload. I get she doesn’t pay much attention to his schedule on a normal day. But they had company he wanted to get home to. MooI'm not understanding OP comment re wife delayed? Wife says it was not unusual for her not to hear from DS the next day (Tues). “The next day I hadn’t heard from him, which is not unusual, you know I don’t know when he’s loading and unloading. The guy he hauls for knocked at my door saying hey we can’t find david have you heard from him.
[..]
Sarah said the police called her from his phone Tuesday afternoon. She added that a friend of hers had nearly hit the truck earlier around 5:30 a.m. His wallet and phone were in the truck as well. A search dog was used to look for David Tuesday, which had led them to his jacket in the ditch, but couldn’t go further due to the strong winds Sarah said. On top of the search dog, other authorities have been searching including a plane with thermal imaging, drones, and other searches.

This ^ is exactly what I was wanting to convey. It might not have be unusual for Sarah not to hear from David when David was gone, but it was unusual for someone to come knockings on the door looking for David given the circumstances. You would think that would be unusual enough to get someone to do more than what seemed to have been done in the amount of time.

I hope so. Last night, I visited the Des Moines DCI f/bk page (and went to the link they posted for the web that is an invalid link). I cannot believe they don't even have Dave's missing person flyer posted. Another LE disappointment, IMO. Note: added text re non working link12/9 was when the press release from the SCSO was published. Less than 20 days ago.
According to Sarah's latest FB update she made today she was contacted by the Iowa Department of Criminal Investigations (DCI) with an update, so maybe some movement in the case will be coming soon.
Were there other missing persons posters up at the DCI office? TIAI hope so. Last night, I visited the Des Moines DCI office. I cannot believe they don't even have Dave's missing person flyer posted. Another LE disappointment, IMO.
