Strange things happen. I'm thinking of Texas college student Jason Landry who crashed his vehicle on a dirt road in rural Tx while headed home for Christmas break two years ago. Authorities found his clothing strewn along the road where it appears he undressed as he walked along the dark road. Jason also left his valuables behind. Authorities here have opined that he may have succumbed to hypothermia and been consumed by feral pigs.
More recently, there was the episode of an Alaskan Airlines Pilot seated in the jump seat on flight from WA to San Francisco who attempted to pull the fire suppression control lever which would have stopped fuel from the engines. The Pilot allegedly consumed mushrooms 48 hours earlier and was in a state of heightened paranoia.
All reported here from shutting down the truck engine to the orientation of where the rig was left is behavior out of character to DS.
It would be good to have confirmation from LE that DS was the party responsible for shutting down his truck, as well as learning who DS last had contact with on Tuesday, Nov 21, and/or his last proof of life.
We know DS grew up in Sac and was familiar with the area where the truck was located (5 miles from Sac). Did he talk to his folks, sibling, nephew? What was his state of mind?
I don't know that there will be additional searches. The Sheriff seems put out if he needs to seek property owner's permission to conduct physical searches for DS. MOO
