Do you really believe DCI told her something confidential? I don't.

Nope, I don't either. They may have said "please don't share what we've just told you," but that's a far cry from the information being classified.

I think it was something as simple as we pulled cell tower data and are investigating people who had pinged in the timeframe and area. This will definitely take time and investigation for validity of being there. And would not want the perps to know...hence classified. Not sure the case, but hopeful!!!!

I imagine if DS was driving within speed limits (what is the speed limit) and the possible 'govenor' restriction, plus having a live load, he would be going at a fair pace but not too fast, simply because it's his job and it would be crazy not to do it as quickly as possible but also he wouldn't want to lose his licence or get into any trouble.

So if he was travelling at a decent speed, what could possibly make him slow down and halt? Also what's the breaking distance on this type of truck? What's the equivalent of doing a sudden emergency stop? I'll bet the vehicle still moves a long way even so? Were the roads checked for tyre skids and were the tyres checked for wear and tear? I imagine so.

But if someone flagged DS down (would have to be flashing lights?) and then after he stopped said turn your engine off step out of the vehicle... in all reality some distance would be covered. Would he stop if a car was driving behind him flashing lights or trying to flag him from the rear? Would he even know / be able to see this?

If someone had the grand idea of 'roadblocking' him, wouldn't they risk being run into?

I can only imagine that the only way a person could get a foothold in causing a truck driver to engage with them is a) if they're law enforcement in uniform and official vehicles or b) it's someone they know or c) they were already stationary at a red light or intersection?

JMO MOO
I really would not be surprised if we end up learning that someone else drove the truck during those very slow miles!!!! It would be so out of character for him. Unless another car was going very slowly in front of him, I do not see him doing this... However, someone unfamiliar with driving a truck would probably be driving it extremely slowly....

IMO, if foul play was involved, it did happen at the exit where the truck turned north. But I think his stop at MM126 has something to do with it. He had only been driving for 25 minutes after he loaded. Would a mid trip inspection be necessary?? I guess I don’t know bc I’m not a truck driver. And why 16 minutes? I think we determined he didn’t get fuel. Was he supposed to meet someone and they were a no show? Is that why he’s seen scrolling on his phone? SS has said he’s not techy, and only recently got a Facebook account. Who would he be communicating with at that hour? Were plans changed to then meet at the exit? Maybe life happened and he was involved in something he shouldn’t have been. Maybe he picked up more than pigs that night and he was supposed to meet someone. Not accusing him of anything, just saying sometimes we think we know someone and we don’t know them at all. IMO he appeared to be under a lot of pressure to support his family. Sometimes people get desperate. He’s human. SS has also said he had run ins with the law back in the day. She has also said he was happy to have gotten together with SS because she was actually “normal”. As opposed to what? Was he associating with some not so savory individuals back then? Either directly or indirectly, and they are coming back to settle a score?? So hard to figure out a motive because he appears to be a pretty responsible person. I hope his family gets some answers soon. I can’t imagine what it must be like for them.
i would really like to know if wife or LE managed to get into his fb account, i feel like him making it only a month before could be part of this... just a feeling i am having and therefore it is only My Opinion!!

Recent arrests in Iowa fwiw:

ETA: It might be about what David knew or what someone or some people thought David knew.
AFTER a plea deal for lying about prices and pounds, scamming pig producers out of money, etc etc, they did THIS: Between about 2018 and March 2021, Lynch Livestock’s managers and employees used a crowbar or other similar object to manipulate the scales on which livestock producers’ swine was weighed at its buying stations. As a result, Lynch Livestock created, kept, and provided to livestock producers scale tickets that contained false information because they understated the actual weight of the swine. Consequently, Lynch Livestock paid livestock producers less than what was owed and violated the 2017 consent decision with the USDA. In 2021, Lynch Livestock and the USDA entered a second administrative consent decision. Lynch Livestock agreed to pay over $400,000 in restitution to various farmers and producers.

WHAT?! Absolutely bonkers!! Madness!!! How did they get caught for this?!

I could now see where this business could potentially be dangerous so thank you for adding this link in, especially since it was in Iowa!!!

I think the wife knows by now if there were any calls or texts. Not content but the log of number/time/date on the carriers website. Maybe there are still carriers who do not let you see your usage but I am not aware of them. I have been able to for years. Have had Verizon, AT&T, and now Tmobile. Even MCI for home long distance I would get an itemized call log in the mail ages ago.
calls and texts are one thing, whatsapp/snapchat/fb messages are another!!!

Same here.
I think about it all the time too. My hope is LE has an avenue of investigation they are following but I dont have a lot of faith in them. Mostly because they don’t give us any reason to. No we’re still working on it comments We’re gonna keep this up until this case is solved comments… Just crickets. That’s what we’re gonna need to move any farther in this support system. They’re just isn’t much more to go on besides what we’ve already ripped through quite frankly. Im sad about this. JMO

Stuff like this has been going on for decades unfortunately. Not only with livestock but with any commodity that can be sold or price by weight. Another example would be moving companies use to charge by the pound of the shipment ( not sure if they still do). Some drivers would have hidden tanks of water (or other heavy object) to add weight to the shipment so the company could charge more and thereby they would be paid more. The driver in this instance is paid a percentage of what the company charges the customer.

What I find odd is SS let her twins go to one of the searches for DS. IMO, if it were me, no way would I let my children (young) help in a search for their father-just what if it were the kids that happened upon a body? Traumatic.

Folks have thrown out all sorts of theories on what might have happened to DS. Some have brought up Mexican cartels using truckers and were poo pooed. It happens:
“The sophisticated operation involved Mexican cartels, an Italian mafia figure based in Montreal and a network of drivers employed by dozens of trucking companies, authorities say.”
Not saying DS was involved in something like this, but it just goes to show you that some of the theories brought up in these threads can not be summarily dismissed.

I don't think Jake Rowley would have let them search in any area that wasn't already cleared, for the reason you mentioned. I think it just let them feel like they were "helping."

@BOBON We now know from the Dateline article, posted up thread, David came home and took a shower. He didn't just wash up at the kitchen sink with a towel wiping his face, hair and arms.

Leaves me still wondering if there is a shower on the main floor or in the basement of their two story house.

I'd be willing to bet they misinterpreted what Sarah told them. Sarah has mentioned at least twice in video interviews that he only washed up.

From the Missing Persons podcast, my notes say that she said:

"Monday we saw him for a short time, Monday night when he came home, he got a change of clothing, washed his hands and face, he doesn’t like to stink, love you baby, gave me a kiss, grabbed his jacket from the porch."

And in another video interview she said that he said something along the lines of, "Can you get me a change of clothes? I don't have time to shower."

Are we now thinking that a coworker or boss was fearful of DS ratting someone out ?
It might make the picture a bit more clear.
What if he's just hiding ?
Omo.

I saw that DS' case was featured on Dateline.
Good to get his case more coverage.

Somehow I have missed this story, so I apologize if this question has already been asked and answered, but were all the livestock still with the truck when it was found?
