I'm not sure. I could go either way on that. But now I'm not even sure he's my #1 suspect anymore. I think SapphireSteel and Jules just changed my mind. :fence:

Welcome to my world, JaimeInLA! I figure out the perfect scenario with the perfect abductor and a perfect motive, and then someone posts something that totally changes my thinking:banghead:

Alrighty ... I have been blowing and swaying around for days on who might be the #1 suspect and have concluded that I have no freaking clue.

  • #163
Do you have a link to that? Its the first I've heard it.

would you believe I can't find it?

But I will keep looking and post.

:banghead:

IIRC it was gramma or Misty who said " he is cooperating now, they have the contacts in his phone now" Paraphrased.

Implying that earlier, they didn't.

I will tell you that I have three prime suspects, and none of them is Misty. Which is weird, because for the first 2 weeks of this, she was my prime suspect.

(And that's not to say I think these 3 were working together. I have three different suspects/scenarios/motives that could work, independently of each other. But I just moved #3 up to the #1 spot and #1 down to the #3 spot on my list.)

The other conclusion that I have come to over the days is to not persist in trying to fit their disappearance into a perceived timeline.

Not saying that folks didn't see what they saw but rather eye witnesses are the least reliable of witnesses in relation to a crime based on statistics.

Also would like to see a MSM reported time for when either Heather or Drew last saw Elizabeth - I probably have missed this in all the reporting.

Sorry to quote myself but I just saw that Cindersoot was back.

He was parked in the lot that overlooks the whole lake at the entrance.

I don't recall reading about one.

Further, there has been nothing published about grammas and auntys afternoon appointment there were in so much of a rush about.

They had to be somewhere at 2.30, which is why they claim they hunted for the girls so quickly. I have yet to read what the pressing afternoon engagement was?

Anyone?

Exactly...maybe they were late for the "appointment" and like I posted previously, "things changed " or "didn't go as originally planned".

LOL clear as mud.

I think Tammy Breault said it all in a nutshell when asked who exactly from the family was NOT cooperating -

"All of them".

If DM "narc'd out" a bunch of people and "everybody" knows that...that could p-off a couple of somebodys if they were included or thought they might be included in the "bunch". MOO I dunno

  • #170
He did? Is he allowed to do that?!? No wonder they said, "we know you did this!"

Do you have a link to that? Its the first I've heard it.

If it had GPS capabilities, he obviously did not want LE to know his whereabouts, but he probably didn't want LE seeing his contact list either.

Cook said Lyric knew she had to return home shortly because Lyric and Cook planned to leave for the home they shared in nearby Waterloo with Lyric's mother, Misty Morrissey, by 1:30 p.m.

snipped

Cook said she got nervous when they weren't back by 12:30 p.m. and started driving around town looking for them. After an hour of searching, she returned to the home. Cook said that Misty Morrissey stopped by after getting off work.
"Misty said, `Mom, you go home and I'll just wait for Lyric and bring her home," Cook recalled.

Cook said she drove to her home but was soon told by Elizabeth's father the girls hadn't surfaced. A firefighter found the bikes two hours later, and the manhunt began.

He starts to say between 12 & 1 and his wife interjects with 3:00. Weird.

You know how many times my husband would be talking to someone and I interrupt with my 2 cents and i always get a look as if to say shut up you have no idea what we are talking about. Seems to me that it was Mr C that saw the girls that day and the wife should have not said a word about 3 because was she even there? Did she see the kids?

What I remember about Grandma and Tammy was they had "plans" and Tammy was waiting for Grandma at Grandma's house in Waterloo. Grandma was supposed to leave around 1:30 with Lyric. So around 2 (?) Grandma left the Collin's house and went to meet Tammy. They were back looking at the lake by 2:45.

The family has been questioned, polygraphed and had information taken from their cell phones, a process Cook-Morrissey said is hard but necessary.

article dated July 20 http://www.news8000.com/news/Lake-s...-nothing/-/326/15615782/-/kud4k1/-/index.html

Many of their personal items, like laptops and cell phones, have been taken for investigation. During a long interview, Daniel immediately stormed out when law enforcement officials accused him of killing the two girls.

I still can find no reference to DM refusing to give over his phone to LE initially, as stated upthread by SapphireSteel. If anyone ever does find where that was stated in the MSM please let me know. Otherwise I am chalking that up as inaccurate.

Also, just a question -- NOT AN ACCUSATION!! -- does anyone know what Aunt Tammy's alibi is? I don't remember hearing one. TIA.

darn good question! but she sure was quick to steer them in the direction of the lake[/QUOTE]

There are an awful lot of accusations being implied and hinted hiding behind the that idea, IMO. Why do I feel like I'm playing devil's advocate because I can rationalize much of the family's (victims) actions on a victim-friendly forum?

If I felt that LE was barking up several wrong trees looking for my child, you can bet I would be trying to steer the investigation. In fact, even if I was 100% behind every LE move, I would be trying to steer the investigation, if they were MY kids.

OMG! That just made me think of something. Misty and Tammy said that LE took their phones and NOW THEIR TOUCH SCREENS AREN'T WORKING. Touch screens mean they have smart phones, which do have GPS! I bet you anything that LE looked at exactly where those two were on the GPS of their phones!

Could be bugs crawling around inside those phones too.

I think this is low-hangin fruit, and, from what I know the FBI has looked into, they have been steps ahead. I can't believe that this wasn't already checked, like the day the FBI arrived.

would you believe I can't find it?

But I will keep looking and post.

:banghead:

IIRC it was gramma or Misty who said " he is cooperating now, they have the contacts in his phone now" Paraphrased.

Not to be snarky, but you yourself mentioned that it was frustrating seeing people twist change the meaning behind statements, and then continue to state it as fact. You are implying something here, then passing it along as fact.

I think many suspect that someone very close to the family may be involved, and I believe LE thinks or thought that as well. But here we are, over 2 weeks in, and no new info, no advances. Maybe we are tunneling in the wrong direction? I want the girls found, but we can't discount the fact the likelihood that a perp simply knew of the girls, and is only barely connected to the family.

IMO, the current "theory" (and lol@ "not an accusation") has us trying to make the facts fit into it, rather than the other way around. LE was on the DM and MCM criminal history early and often, to be sure, yet has released nothing. MSM, at least in this area, is well-connected to many of these players as well (they knew many PC talking points before the PC's, tbh). The family is under a microscope, their recent and distant past is under a microscope, they're bearing a heavy burden and some are not strong enough to maintain. If LE knows the girls are alive AND knows the family is in on it, they wouldn't still be holding out, IMO. And, unlike early in the investigation, I'm confident LE is wa-a-a-a-ay ahead of us at the moment.

Just my opinion.

Personally, I think that *IF* the girls disappeared somewhere more near the camera, the most likely answer to that is that some other kids completely unknowing of what had happened to the girls came across the bikes and took them to the lake, rifled thru the purse, chucked it over the fence, and left the bikes.

But I'm still not at all sure what I think about anything anymore.

But it would just be strange they took the bikes to where the girls regularly went, it's possible, though. It would seem more like a person went to great lengths to take focus off of themselves, if they were planted. Like getting bikes away from their residence, or someone they knew, for either bad reasons or to protect them, or to get out of whatever might be happening,(kwim). I can see Lyric being hidden for her protection, but why Elizabeth? Unless.."unless", it had to look like a random stranger abduction with two girls missing, instead of just Lyric.

Dan refused to give up his phone in the early days.

Why?

Probably because LE did not have a warrant at that time. There is such a thing as being too cooperative with LE and given his rather lengthy and extensive criminal c.v. , DM would know that he did not have to surrender his phone without a warrant.

Again, I would like to see that quote linked.

I knew it was raining that day! look at the puddles in the video of the girls riding past the camera. I say this because why would the witness be out watering his yard in the rain?? I always wondered that.?
