I thought it seemed odd that Drew stayed with the kids while his sick wife searched, but it was probably less stressful for her to feel like she was doing something than it would have been just sitting there having no idea what was going on. I don't believe Dan has a car. I seem to remember that he called his mother, who came home and brought him down there. I could be wrong, I only remember hearing/reading it the first night, and my memory isn't great these days.

Dan does not have his own car. But he drives his girlfriend's truck, and he has an ATV.

I just have to say after reading how some think she's so articulate. All i see is "mimic" if that makes sense. This woman was just released from whatever, halfway house or parole. she had people feeding her words and programs to follow. imo

She seems smart and I bet she picks up things really quick. I'm thinking she could have taken some classes during the 5 months she was in jail. And I think through her experience she has learned about the law and law enforcement and what they can do and what they can't do.

:what:
Their father came home.

No snark intended: are we sure he came home at 1230? Did he say that somewhere? I find it odd that he wouldn't have gone looking at 1230 instead of having grandma.I guess I thought he came home later when heather had to start looking.

it's crazy cause i never start out thinking they will just keep being missing so i keep hoping w/ every single case! and then the whole "i'm not doing this anymore..." sets in. And then the anger at the perps that think I'm so stupid....

The first case that grabbed me and my heart was Kyron. I fell in total love with that little cutie. I got very wrapped up in what was going on. On 8/31st of that summer I stumbled across a video on youtube that someone had put up who claimed to have photographic evidence of what happened to Kyron. The video was a mind-blower. It was quite traumatic. It basically laid out evidence against Kyron's step-mother and ended with showing a pile of bodies (atleast five) lying under some brush in a wooded area. I was home alone because my husband and children were out of town. I am rarely home alone. It scared me so bad that I went to a friend's house for the night. Later, I told myself I was being ridiculous, so I went home... alone and at dark!! I was scared out of my mind. Within a few minutes of being home, the phone rang and it was my husband telling me that one of our very good friends and his 9 yo son whom we adored had been killed in a car accident earlier that evening. I never followed Kyron's story from that day forward but I prayed for him all the time.

I wish I had known about WS. I bet someone could have helped me to find out just what in the heck that video was about.

Listen all you Negative Nancys and Debbie Downers -- these girls WILL be found! Law enforcement has got to be better at this than we are, as they have more info. Right?! RIGHT?! (Hold me!)

Oh wow! So sorry. I followed Kyron's case but I don't believe I knew about that video. It seems like there was something about a video and I thought it had to do with child trafficking but I think it got removed before I ever saw it. :(

I believe it was the grandmother who said it when talking about them going to the lake and Heather going to the police. None of what was going on there has been really clear, so it may have been closer to 1:30 (nobody really said he came home). I just remember when Heather went to call the police and the rest went searching/to the lake, someone just put the comment in there - something like, "We went here and Heather went there, the father was home now."

I have to go to bed. I just cannot wrap my mind around what Tammy, misty and grandma were doing between 1130 and 4. Its so confusing! Maybe some sleep will help.

But he didn't even need a car. the girls were on bikes.

It just seems odd, if the family was worried enough to call the police, that the fathers were not out on bikes or on foot, searching the neighborhood.

I am not bashing them or sleuthing them. Just trying to understand the mindset of the family when the girls FIRST went missing. What did they think was happening?

gahhhh, im so sorry that you were tricked into seeing something you can never "unsee" that has happened to me thanx to "google images" -- there is some really scary stuff out there that should have some kinda warning on it - but then again i think there are twisted people who put that stuff out there to shock other people...

If MrC did she the girls on his street and they did in fact turn around. How long to get to the place where the bikes were found?

Edited: Is it also possible that the girls put their bikes there in case Gma went by looking for them and they didn't want to be seen at the lake as Gma wouldn't allow that?

I thought they said the brother waited in the car.

Really? I had not heard that.

Makes no sense, imo. Wouldn't a big brother be wanting to search for his little sis and cousin?

I cannot imagine a better helper than a 12 yr old boy. he could cover a lot of ground looking for those bikes, much faster than grama or Auntie could have.

Finally found it.... this is where Grandma says the dad (Drew) came home.

COOK: Well, I took her from my house -- I live in Waterloo, and her mom left for work. She rode with me to Heather`s house, my other daughter in Evansdale. And I go there every day for four or five hours, and she always goes with me. And because Heather is not well and she has four little kids. And we did a daily routine that day at, you know, in her house doing things, eating breakfast and all that stuff.

And so it was at 11:30, they asked me if they could go for a short bike ride, and I said yes. And they`ve done this millions of times. And they`ve never, never went that far. I could go outside and yell their names, and they would eventually hear me.

And this day, they just didn`t come back. And so K____ (ph), Elizabeth`s brother, he`s 12 -- I hopped in my car because the dad came home, and I went searching Elk Run. We were down by Meyers Lake. We drove all over every little park and Evansdale, Elk Run, every mentionable place, downtown area. And we couldn`t find nobody.

Tammy was not in the picture or on scene until she came back with Grandma from Waterloo and picked up E's brother and got to the lake at 2:45.

Where did Heather search?

If LE arrived at 3 but the bikes weren't found until 3:58 what were they doing for nearly an hour?

BBM -

That has been driving me crazy. It really is a small lake.

Does anyone know off hand about where in these threads I could find Ollipops photos? I am not quite sure how to search for those?

Also the map someone so nicely posted (Jules, maybe?) with the fence in yellow?

Huge tia!
