I'd still like to know how long the girls were missing in this incident before LE was called. I think it could be telling. And yes, where were they?

I'd like to know if she called him from his wife's phone and said "Daddy" or if she came walking up to the house. He says both but I'm not sure why she would call him while walking up to the house. Inconsistency in the same story time.

Dan Morrissey, with tears in his eyes, welcomes hugs and words from several people in attendance at the close of a prayer vigil in honor of Elizabeth Collins, 8, and Lyric Cook-Morrissey, 10, at Mount Carmel Baptist Church in Waterloo, Iowa, Thursday, July 19, 2012. It has continuously been frustrating for me in this case because there is no street view of Evansdale available. We could look for those cams if we did. Arrrrg...

Have you tried Bing?

I was thinking more about some of the missing children cases that have gone on for months, if not years...as recent as Isabel, as long ago as Haleigh. Early on in those cases, it seemed certain that they would be solved, the child would be found. Lots of activity, etc. And then when it stops, it just seems to stop.

I agree, it is worrying.

I'm just trying to keep some hope. At this point, not so much that the girls are perfectly okay and happy but that they may be alive. And even if not alive, then at least found so that their families (and lots of us) will know.

As dry as Iowa has been this year, one good thing is that farmers will probably be harvesting corn relatively early this year (the paltry few kernels there are, anyway).

I've never even tried marajuana, and I'm going to need someone to pass that joint over here. :floorlaugh:

Hey, hemp grows wild in the ditches in Iowa!

Dan and Misty were not together when it happened. So right as Misty called the police - they came walking up. Then I believe she used Misty's cell phone to call Dad to say she made it home.

Thanks. My bad. I missed that first line was him and second one her.

He genuinely looks sad. I feel for him, I honestly do. But I have to say, and I know I will get flamed for it, but I can't hold back... Is he really wearing a wife beater to CHURCH?

Well, some people indicated they would no longer associate with a family member who smoked a joint or took a xanax...

WOW!!!

I would see that being funny IF that is what I said, but it wasn't.

My answer meant that I would not bail someone out if they got busted for it!

I too think these parents are doing their best to cope with the situation. Their children are missing. I'm sure that they were full of hope for the first few hours and days that they were missing, hoping for the best, preparing for the worst. When the lake was being drained, they were probably trying to prepare mentally for the possibility that their children had accidentally drowned. After that possibility was eliminated, they had to face the horror that their children were in the hands of someone evil. At this point, they are most likely very slowly adjusting to the realization that time is running out, or has run out, for their children. I can't imagine how devastated they must feel, but I wouldn't blame them if they turned to the only crutch they may know: drug use. It doesn't help, but it may help them avoid the pain they feel. To say that it is in God's hands tells us that they feel completely helpless to do anything to help their children. I'm sure that they are completely crushed and in survival mode themselves.

Absolutely agreed. I think all of us following this case have been going through this cycle of hope and worry, and the majority of us aren't even related nevermind parents to these two girls. Even *I* can't really wrap my mind around what might have happened or be happening to them. And I don't even know them. I'm sure some of it's from being new to the site and pretty much new to following any missing person cases other than the brief snippets on the news.

I'm sorry in advance because I hate references that are cryptic about things that are no longer available but just this once I have to say it. There was briefly a post here that was removed (THANK YOU to whoever removed it) from some guy's blog that was likely a troll/fake but it was one of those things you can never "unsee." Ever. That specifically has haunted me and I keep thinking how much I hope their families and loved ones never saw it and never will. Even if the guy had nothing to do with anything (which I suspect), the fact that anyone in this world can even come up with stories like that is really upsetting.

Thanks for the link. I watched but didn't see firm elbow to the ribs?

They however, (My Gut---seemed rehearsed) JMO

I watched that video and didn't see the elbow but the mom winced when he started talking...

While I was there I watched this video, this woman, Erica Goetch, says she grew up in Evansdale and tries to say she may know who took the girls/ she says it is her friend/family who was visiting at that time and could have taken them... See what you guys think, you are better at reading people then I am I think.

I tried to contact her, waiting for a message back. Some want to send to LE?

Hey I didn't realize that TBs husband RB was pictured in one of those.

You may be right, but I thought it was her father. Isn't her maiden name Bertch?
