Here in this reply box, there is an icon that says "insert image" (square yellow and black box). I haven't used it, but sometimes you can put the image on your desktop and then choose that picture. Maybe I'm wrong..LOL

pc my laptop

Try what sunlight said, sounds easier.

I could swear I remember seeing a plate # or part of a plate # shortly after it was reported. Has it been removed? Or am I nuts? Or both?

On FB it went from small tattoo in the "web" of her hand to "her whole hand" to "spiderweb tattoo" in a very short time frame so it's really hard to keep track.

I don't know...I don't think I read that but hell, what do I know.

I still don't know if the bikes were moved or not?

Some said yes but unfortunately, no confirmation...it would make a difference to my sleuthing.

It IS possible forcar to drive down that path. If you go to the scanner thread, you will see it happens.

I have walked the path many times. A car can go down the east end of the trail until the double fence starts. But no one knows exactly the spot where the bikes and purse were found. Was it in the middle of the double fence area? The west end? The far east end?

It needs to be on a public webpage, ie photobucket or something like that. Are you on a pc or tablet, iPad ?

cindersoot can just click the button that says "manage attachments" after clicking the "new reply" button to go to advanced posting mode. Then after clicking "manage attachments" a box comes up. Click the browse button to open a dialogue box that allows you to navigate to your "My Pictures" folder on your PC. Select your image that you want to post. Click the button to upload the picture. Once the picture is uploaded, you can close that box that opened up, and hit the submit button to post your new reply. complete with pic attachment.

Beth, I live in New York and my husband always talks to people's children. However, he usually does it when either I'm with him or our son is with him so maybe that makes it less creepy.

My husband says he doesn't usually feel comfortable unless I am there. It's a pity, because he really is great with babies and kids....I like kids but babies.....not so much.

I grew up in Philly and my mom loves to talk to kids (she is a teacher). People in Philly always responded nicely.

One time we were visiting relatives in NYC and we were in a drugstore in Brooklyn. This darling little girl was standing in a aisle by herself and my mom said something to her about her beautiful dress. The girl ignored her and the mom came whipping around the corner, grabbed her child, gave my evil other a glare and hefted her kid up and ran out of the store. I cracked up. I called her Kidnapper Syd for years after that.

So much frustration today. I was really hoping we were breaking the case with this white van last night.

Where could these little girls be?!

If it helps, a patrol car drove down the path yesterday, "to the spot the bikes were found."

This is HORRIBLE.
Horrible and sexist. To treat a man who likes children as a pedophile is horrible.
I am thankful i live in a city where if my husband and i start up a conversation with a child we don't know in the cart in front of us at the supermarket, the mother smiles

Sapphire wasn't far off on this one. It's my story she was reacting to. This man stood in a pool, never swam. He never took his eyes off of us. Eventually, my older son and I moved to the hot tub. Only then did the man move and he came closer to us. He's still in the pool, standing, watching us. I kept looking toward the pool to check my younger children and he was always in my eye line. My son got out of the hot tub and within a minute the man came and got in with me. (My Olympic-jump over the side as he came down the steps was my feat for 2012.) I walked over to faux speak to my children and he got back out, took the same position against the end of the pool and proceeded to stare. So we left.

My son is 12 and, while polite and smart, is usually not surveying the area for perps. However, today he was the one who noticed the man first and it made him feel uncomfortable.

I don't think anyone is saying to avoid all males. My kids are mannered and will chat and be friendly. But in my quiet little town, there is one sex offender out of a long list who assaulted an adult. The rest were on children. Many of their profiles are inaccurate as to where they live and work. One is a woman, all the rest are men. And many, way too many, come here directly from Hunstville. I'm not sure why. We're a big tourist spot and if you were to visit, you'd never think RSO or unsafe town.

So while we're not rude, we're very aware. And if we feel creeped out, we're not staying.

Cindersoot-
Just hit "post reply" then hit the paper clip icon. A box pops up. Hit browse files. Choose the file that's on your desktop, then hit upload. Close the pop up box then post your comment as usual.

The bikes were found in the trail by the gate leading to a rock jetty and water outlet on the lake. The gate wasn’t locked at the time, Abben said.
There’s a chain link fence on both sides of the trail. The purse was on the lake-side of the fence, about 10 feet to the east of the bikes and about 2 feet from the fence, officials said.

Someone asked who took care of the pump house for Meyers lake, sorry I cannot find the post, anyway- in Iowa DNR takes care of the lakes and the Corp of Engineers take care of the river... Hope that helps.
