Until I reread the below quote from subj. email today, I thought this paragraph (bbm) was talking about the photos on the Missing Poster which was linked:

Victims much older than these girls have been coerced and manipulated in a relatively short period of time into changing their names and denying their true identity, even when asked by police officers. The photos are an important part of the message. Please look at the attached poster, which includes the girls' physical descriptions. There are certain facial characteristics of both girls that are distinct and unique, notice them and pay attention to children you see. Look at the freckles and moles on these girls' faces. Has Gma changed the time she last saw the girls? I know we keep discussing this, and I thought the last time she saw them was around 12:15. But at least one article I've read says the girls were last seen biking at 12:30.

Interesting, dotr. Birthdays and parties appear to be of great interest to the girls.(they were for me at that age) Elizabeth was planning a fun birthday smash weeks in advance and Lyric was part of that.

IIRC, Elizabeth was invited to a B-D party that was to happen the day after their disappearance. I think it was mentioned by HC in one of her interviews(?).

Wonder if the girls were fans of this movie, I know some girls who happily "re-enacted" scenes many times - especially on a hot summer's day.
At one point in the film, the mermaid was hidden in a water tower and no one but the kind of creepy but (turns out to be nice )older guy knew their secret...

IMO, the person behind the can drive is probably the person who told the reporter that. The person mentioned in the article has been inaccurate before when making statements on a FB sight. I wouldn't consider him an unbiased source of info. JMO.

Not to say that the can drive isn't a good idea, I think it's a great idea.

I sure wish i had stayed on my regular routine of looking up offenders to see if i knew of any and didnt know they were an offender!
A guy i worked with in des moines recently is an offender and i did find that out when i did a search while checking out the people i worked with. I do this because SO's seem to flock to me and think they can pick me up for a date or something, which has been a life long problem for me. Any way, there is a guy on there in the des moines area that i worked with who now shows where abouts unconfirmed from minnesota. When i found out he was an SO the website did not say his where abouts where unconfirmed, also now the update date shows a date and he was working with me at that time. So i did send them the info i know on him and what he was driving when i saw him last, and i have to say, this guy was constantly asking me where there were good places to fish in my area, which is not the des moines area.
When the girls went missing i was still working with him, and he missed alot of work in the days before and days after the girls went missing and was acting more strange than normal when he returned to work, and i did think to myself that he was the one who took them, i dont know why. I left the company soon after that.
Any ways, its good to pay attention. Everyone at work blew off the fact that he was an 2 time SO with expanded times between offending, but i didnt blow it off i paid attention without making it obvious, to every thing i could about this guy. He seemed very laid back and like he couldnt hurt a fly type of person, but then he got pushy with his questioning & my intuition started flagging right and left when he would come near me. Then i started looking up my coworkers and sure enough, he was an SO.

Oh man i just remembered that when he first started there he kept telling me how he was riding his bike on the trail around the lake trying to loose weight every morning after work. Oh yuck! If this guy turns out to have taken these girls and my intuition flagged me like it did and i never said anything to anyone right away, man i wont be able to carry that stupidity & guilt! He's probly not the guy but ya never know. Geesh i feel like crap.

I don't know about the 12:30 time, but if it is as inaccurate as the 2pm time (bikes found which was reported by LE as 3:58) I don't put much faith in it. MOO

I have a theory that right after they were seen on the cctv camera between 12:11-12:19, they were "abducted" into a vehicle that could transport the bikes. The bikes were taken to the lake and left there in the trail and the purse placed on the lakeside of the fence. The girls were subsequently seen with the abductor(s) on video at 12:30 somewhere...perhaps a local convenience store. They were taken out of the area and may, indeed, be alive...depending, of course, on who abducted them. MOO

My Personal Opinion Only:

WC (Grandmother) Saw the girls when they left at 11:30 and didn't see them again but became worried when 12:30 came around and they hadn't stopped into the house.

that she had seen them
then she started saying it.

This probably was posted back when, but I thought it might be relevant at this point. It describes two attempted abductions around July 26th in the area where the person discussed above seemed to be located around that time.

I also think the girls appear to be in differing age groups, and I think that one of the girls was the primary "focus" for the offender.
I believe Elizabeth would have been the focus because she was the one who lived nearby and would have been more readily available to watch, he could get to "know" her schedule or even get to "know" her. Lyric could have been actually used as a ruse, as Elizabeth would have felt more comfortable going outside her normal zones, or going into a home or vehicle with her older cousin.
Kids (and adults) are taught about the buddy system, basically that you're safe as long as someone else is with you. Two girls together on a Friday afternoon during summer vacation would have felt very safe in Evansdale.

What really makes me sad, is that there's a cold front coming through right now. When the girls went missing it was full blown Iowa summer, you can tell that fall is coming now, and yet they still aren't home and I haven't seen a hummingbird for days.
