I am puzzled as to why they would be removing the dock?? Even if it were to look for blood, it seems unlikely that someone would have been able to clean up anything. That dock seems fairly out in the open so I have a hard time imagining anything happening there.

I think the girls are probably too big for toddler sizes, and too small for women's sizes, at least the littler girl. So far, I've only found them in the toddler sizes (1-5 yrs old.) Either they described an old pair of flip flops, maybe just a memory thing due to stress, or these aren't the pair, or the pair comes in larger sizes that for whatever reason, I can't find on the internet, or the little girl (like my daughter) has extremely small feet for her age. I'm guessing #1 or #2.

Maybe it's a juniors size. I know I've seen toddler size, junior/misses, and ladies shoes when I shoe shop. Just a thought.

Maybe they are removing the dock to check for fibers or hair and that needs to be done offsite?

They are taking the dock, but apparently those flip flops are insignificant to LE ???

Also, just curious, but would the tracking dogs be able to pick up scent on Lake Ave. that is recent or would the old scent still be there, from days before the girls went missing.

If there was an abduction, it would be risky for the perp to return to the area to leave those flip flops for fear of being seen. A perp wouldn't know if there was surveillance planted somewhere. IMO, there is more than one perp, maybe male and female. Other thoughts, I will keep to myself at this time and will keep hope and faith that these little girls are found alive and if this is an abduction, I feel it is local. I really hope LE are actually entering the homes around the lake. Would they need a search warrant for each home, as just asking questions at the door is not enough.

IMO

Yes, they would need a search warrant if the occupant refused permission to search. Two missing children in the area is not enough for probable cause.

The dock looks like most of its weight floats on the water, but it has skinny legs to "stabilize" it. They might have to take it down to prevent damage to the legs. (Just guessing)

So, the guy who told those family members that he saw the girls at 2 :30pm was lying, possibly ? Why, I wonder ? And,if he saw two other little same age girls, who probably kind of matched a description the family members gave him, have those other two little girls been identified...if not, I hope LE is having a long "discussion ' with him...JMO

I wouldn't necessarily consider what he said a "lie"... other locals have posted that there are kids outside playing/riding bikes all over the place...

Docks can often trap debris/sediment underneath them and be a danger to searchers. They can also trap bodies within the debris/sediment trapped underneath them. Docks can create their own water currents or eddys. So..if the dogs picked up a scent of the girls on the dock...it is possible their bodies are trapped under there. One falls in, ends up under the dock, the other goes in to help...?

True,nurse... that being the case, did any other kids playing by the lake see the two missing girls ? I just don't recall hearing about other kids being present at the lake when they went missing ?

Thank you GrainneDhu.

Sorry to quote myself, but that post should have said, keep my thoughts to myself at this time.

Exactly, I just helped a little girl on her bike outside whose backpack contents dumped. Sent her and her firends on their merry way to the park. What time was that? I have no idea...within the last hour maybe. Or longer. Or less. I have nothing to reference it with, like a phone call or what not. I do not look at my clock constantly...no...unless running a code...LOL.
