I read an article where HC said (paraphrase) the kidnapper must have been someone the girls knew, otherwise they would have been kicking and screaming.

Tonight on Dr. D, TB talked about feeling it was someone local, which falls in line with someone the girls knew.

IMO

http://www.hlntv.com/article/2012/07/17/missing-girls-grandmother-somebody-could-have-snatched-them

Snip:

“They would have never went in that water and swam and came home dripping wet. I don’t think they would have even known the way to Meyers Lake,” grandmother Wylma Cook told HLN’s Nancy Grace Tuesday."

Snip:

Cook-Morrissey told HLN that Elizabeth and Lyric usually stayed within a few blocks of home when they rode their bikes and would check in frequently, so the family quickly grew concerned on Friday afternoon when nobody heard from them.

BBM

Either Gma and MCM were sadly mistaken about the girls' biking habits, or something very much out of the ordinary happened on July 13, IMO.

Because based on maps posted by otto and others showing the possible bike routes the girls' might have taken, it seems the girls couldn't have checked in all that frequently, IMO. And it also seems the girls knew how to get the the lake. Also JMO.

ETA: I'm not saying Gma or MCM are being deceitful - I think they just weren't as aware of the girls' biking activities as they thought they were. Either that, or something happened that day to change the girls' normal bike routine and led them to bike to the lake. JMO

A point I can't quite understand is if this perp planned the abduction and had been watching the girls for awhile, he/she/they also had to know WC's movements and have been very confident that she was not on the coat tails of the girls as soon as they had not returned on time.

Interestingly, WC didn't think the girls ever went to Meyers Lake.

IMO

I keep reading these articles, maybe someone can help me. When LE said the girls were seen on their bikes on Brovan (CCTV) then "then spotted between 12:30 and 1 p.m. on Gilbert Drive not far from Meyers Lake". Do we know if the sighting of them at the later time was still on their bikes or if they were in the company of someone else? Or are we just assuming?

Article I quoted from....

I don't think they were spotted in the company of anyone. I believe witnesses placed the girls biking in that area between 12:30 and 1 p.m.

That's a very good question! I assumed they were spotted together with no one else, but just IMO. It would be interesting to know who saw them on Gilbert.

I think if LE had any info that the girls had been seen with anyone, either a sketch or description of that person would be generated with a request for anyone knowing this individual to call or email the tip line. JMO

ETA: I assume the 12:30-1 p.m. sightings were eyewitnesses rather than video, since a specific time wasn't given. I think the 12:23 sighting was caught on videotape. JMO again.

I wonder if the girls rode by the fire dept and if it has cameras. It's located on the corner of Gilbert and Evans, which is very close to Watering guy's house on Lake.
Moo here, but I think they're keeping that 12:30- 1:00 timeframe open-ended intentionally. They want everyone and anyone who might have seen something to call in.
They pinned down the auction time to 12:23 and that wasn't done for several months- LE clearly has a specific timeframe, and I really think they have some kind of video for them to have released specific streets. I think it's the fire station.

I think it's possible the vehicle & person might be known via video or witness, it's trying to get that person from point a to point b. Same with the girls. No one saw it & only up to a certain point they can prove it. Just thinking out loud.

I hadn't thought about it in that way, but it's an interesting point of view.

Tammy, Misty's sister was on Dr.Drew on HLN tonight.
The topic was Letting Your Kid Outside by themself.
Tammy was on the phone, they showed the girls photos.

Dr. Drew asked: Do you have any suspicions?

Tammy said: My gut tells me it was a local.
A pedifile, or someone who stole the girls to sell to the sex trafficking thing.
I don't know that.

It gets harder every day,
These are my two closest neices.
Keep your kids close.
You never know who is out there.

The bicycle question is interesting.

I'm making the assumption that if the girls were seen with someone near the lake, a description of that person would have been released.

A good topic IMO. I do have a question - why does "sex trafficking" seem to come up as the first answer lately if the motive isn't clear? Am I just naive or newly familiar with this 'trend'? It freaks me out that within a few hours of kids going missing people are turning to "human trafficking" as an answer - not just this case, others too. :( . Is it really that widespread? That scares the heck out of me.

Related to the girls IMO I think Aunt T knows more that she either can't share or it hasn't been released publicly - and this is nothing negative against her whatsoever. I just think there's more she's either been told not to say or is afraid to say publicly. I hope I'm right because I think she loves these two little girls and wants to help them.

Would the description of someone within the family/friends circle be released? I don't think so. That's the only way that makes sense to me. The LE may have had their sights right from the start. Proving it is another matter to bring it to prosecution & conviction. jmo

I think Aunt T knows a lot. She certainly seemed to know what Lyric and Elizabeth were up to more than anyone else, IMO. I think she really loves these girls, and her family, and doesn't want to say or do anything wrong at this point.

I'd love to have a one on one conversation with Aunt T, off the record, just to get her take on things.

Completely agree. Thanks for taking my post the way I meant it. I think maybe the girls confided in Aunt T, possibly more than other relatives, but I don't see anything inherently "wrong" with that. VERY early on (as in first few hours) I think she might've been trying not to break that trust with the girls by telling LE, their parents, etc. but I feel like as soon as she realized it was more serious she didn't hesitate to do the right thing. I still think she knows much more than we'll ever hear but that's ok IMO as long as LE knows whatever they need to know.

I'm with you on that wish for an "off the record" conversation too. I can only hope that the conversations with LE have brought out the important points.

Oh yes I think she knows more than she can say.
I thought it was disturbing to say that about being sold and sex trafficking.
That was like no hope and if by chance Lyric and Elizabeth are watching that show that is not the message you want them to here.

You would say We are doing everything to find them.
Or Lyric and Elizabeth hang on we are searching everywhere to find you.
or plead to the kidnappers.
I do not think I have ever heard a parent or family member say that ever.
Is it just me?
