This summer there was a major dought for most of the season. But later in the summer there was enough rain for the grass to turn green again. This fall, I don't recall there being a great amount of rain. Certainly none out of the ordinary. Thanks Sweetpea..yes, it's been harvested. Great place for hunting here in NC as well. Just remembered about the burning and turning the earth after harvest, and thought a good way to destroy evidence. I'm sure they are searching any and all roads leading into the area, but more closely the less traveled access road, since the girls were near the river.
Has there been as much rain as usual there? Is there a season that often floods the banks? If the bridges are washed out..
Otto has posted some aerial photos of the area. I'm thinking that the fields are as close as LE is allowing anyone else to the area. In some photos you can see the woods in the background behind the fields.

after seeing the picture,
they were together but yet farther away from each other
than I pictured in my mind.

Me too, passionflower. I had pictured them close together and even with arms around each other....wishful thinking, I know, but somehow that gave a little comfort to me.
