I agree. IMO, there was something very specific that allowed them to quickly say the bodies were Lyric and Lizzie. Not just their stature or the fact that no one else was missing. I suspect that they were still dressed in the clothing they wore the day they disappeared.
yeah and probably hair, maybe nail polish or jewelry and their shoes

I am thinking... if bodies have been there since they went missing... and there was no hunting season, with many animals around, their remains would have been scattered in the area...
From photos we have seen it seams that hasn't happened. Also they must have had their clothes on, otherwise I don't believe LE would know so quickly whose bodies have been found. This again means that they were wearing same clothes they had on the day they went missing.
Just thinking loudly.

If the remains were clothedor clothing was found with them, there is a reason LE did not simply say so.

I am trying to decide why they might withhold that info. Anybody got ideas?

Based on the amount of info given today and comparing today's press conference to past conferences, I am of a mind that LE is as empty handed as it was the day before yesterday. The only difference is the remains/bodies have been found.

Unless the ME discovers a smoking gun, I think the case will grow cold again. Craigslist Guy could be the Black Swan though, that is if he is ever tracked down.

i agree with you 100% :banghead:

it would have been pretty well vegitated in the summer time.

Which may be why the girls weren't found together. If the perp carried the bodies from the car separately, maybe he couldn't find the exact spot he left the first body.

So did LE send oficers out in hunting gear to "find" the bodies or are you thinking that thee were no hunters and the whole story about them was made up by police?
That seems farfetched to me.

I think the bodies were clothed and that clothing or peices of it was a factor in their confidence that the bodies belong to the girls.

Yep...I know it is far-fetched, but until LE has has addressed or confirmed that there is or is not a POI, I am going with this! They have just stated "hunters" located the bodies! I don't expect them to elaborate, but I am also open-minded and know that can mean anything!

Excellent pics of the crime scene area by Cedar Rapids, Iowa Gazette photog Jim Slosiarek.

Very sad.

And let's not forget dental records as a possibility.

If dental comparisons had already been made and matched I would think ME would have enough to confirm ID and presser seemed to indicate they aren't at positive ID point yet.

This is very creepy!!!

I think it needs called in to LE!!!

I absolutely think that info should be called in to LE and also a copy of that screen shot sent to them via fax or email as well. imo

I agree. It wasn't long after the bodies were found yesterday, that someone reported Heather, I believe commenting on facebook that the bodies were the girl's. Now how could she and the family have concluded that so soon without any family member seeing the bodies? As a parent, clothing alone would not confirm it for me. Would dental records confirm it that fast? Maybe pictures? I don't know.

Bodies are always being found by hunters, dog walkers or joggers.. who else is truckin through the woods besides them? JMO

Very good point. Also it's possible they were killed more recently than when they first went missing. But yeah, the bodies would be scattered had they been there any length of time.

What's his role though? Is he just the spokesman for LE or is he a lead investigator? If it's not in his portfolio to interview people, why would he go out of his way to do so?

I wonder if he is their public information officer.
