Oh I don't know. I feel it's possible they were wearing same clothes. If perp was using them and planning to kill them later anyway it wouldn't matter about the clothes. That's IF they were found in ALL the same clothing...which we don't even know yet.

The only possibility (IMO) is that they have been buried in shallow graves and LE got a tip.
That way remains wouldn't be scattered and they would have the same clothes as when they went missing.

John Lieberman, Investigative Reporter:

-talking to police sources for last 24 hrs
-not found smack next to ea other: 40-50 ft apart
-bodies found, but location not murder scene
-LE is looking for primary murder scene

I think the photos from earlier today showing LE searching the harvested corn fields, road sides and ditches, they are looking for bullet casings and the murder scene.

IMO if clothing was the identifiable key then those girls weren't kept alive very long. I just don't see keeping them in the same clothing for months, nor do I think they would put them back in their clothing they were wearing the day they went missing (when it came to disposing of the bodies) if they HAD kept them for months.

I don't know what kind of decomp would take place forensically but I've seen deer hit out by our house that have remained pretty much "intact" for quite some time during the summer. And then with dry conditions over the summer (albeit hot) if they were under thick foliage (which in that area they would be) they could probably be identifiable.

Plus...keep in mind, these hunters are more than likely well aware of these missing girls, their faces, etc. as it's plastered all over Iowa. I highly doubt there was a lot of questions as to who 2 bodies found that close together were...sadly. :(

Even in a shallow grave, it is likely that larger predators would have dug them up. A shallow grave wouldn't have really prevented all of the animal scatter.

And they did get a tip. From the hunters that found the bodies.

This area seems like more of a dump site than anything else.

If they were there in July in the heat, there would have been brush and grasses up tall. Not to leave out the bugs and everything else. Plus the area isn't controlled (perp wouldn't know when somebody else may come in). Since there is only one way in/out I wouldn't think the perp would want to spend too much time there.

I agree and believe with all the visitors they would have been found earlier and/or animals would have scattered (taken away) the remains.

I don't think they have been here long at all. In fact, I am confused as to "why" they were placed here during hunting season ... obviously they were placed here so they would be found; but why? :waitasec: JMO

That's the way I feel...why?

If they were kept somewhere for a while, then trafficking is sadly back on the list of possibilities. Poor girls.

Maybe the heat was coming on to the perp and they are trying to misdirect away from themselves.

Like if you believe the girls were never at the lake and the bikes a misdirection.

This surprises me a little. I felt that the girls were found where they were killed.

I don't know anything about John Lieberman. Is he usually a reliable source of information??

ETA: Never mind, I answered my own question. I know I expect too much from journalists nowadays, but when I read that Jon Lieberman has worked with both Howard Stern and Maury Povich - well, let's just say I'm a little iffy about his reporting. JMO

IMO only, I think the bodies were not there during the very hot summer. I don't think the bodies were there very long because coyotes are rampid in Iowa and the remains would be scattered.

I don't doubt at all that the woods are a secondary crime scene (dump site.) It would be hard to control two panicky little girls in a controlled, smaller space, let alone a large outdoor area where there is a chance of someone else stumbling onto the scene or one of the girls potentially getting away.

The fact that it is being said it wasn't the murder scene makes me think that perhaps there are actual bodies, not skeletal remains. If there were only skeletal remains, it seems to me they wouldn't be able to determine that. Of course, I could be completely wrong.

JVM reminds viewers of LE asking for info about mystery kayaker or boater on lake who was never found.

Jon Leiberman said sources close to the police investigation are saying the girls were not killed in the same spot they were found. Discussion is moving to perhaps the clothing was so well preserved that maybe a freezer was used, or the girls were kept alive longer.

Why are we thinking that the bodies were intact? The two sheets may simply cover the main part of the remains. Bones that may be scattered by animals would be marked with flags, I think, which may not be visible in these aerial photos. MOO

It takes approximately 50 days for a body to completely decompose (reduced to bones and hair) in conditions such as the one the girls were found. The summer heat would have caused this to occur slightly faster. However, if they were partially buried it could have slowed the process down. Unfortunately, with all the time that has passed neither scenario makes it plausible that if the girls are infact somewhat intact, they've been there this whole time. In the pictures I've seen (eventhough they could have been taken prior to Crime Scene Techs) I don't see any flags (indicators) showing scattered skeletal remains. IMO they haven't been at this location long. Or they decomposed elsewhere before being placed there.

Did anyone else notice that he said that at first LE believed it was an abduction but are now awaiting the ME. Does that mean that there is some sort of evidence they weren't abducted or was that just to say, they believe its an abduction and are awaiting confirmation?

I read a tweet today that the ME was back out there along with a lot of FBI and police today. I'm sure there will be all kind of professionals examining where the girls were found. Plant & bug experts to determine TOD. Abben said they planned on 7 Bridges area to be closed at least until Monday. That's 5 days of scouring that area. When Caylee's remains were found it took them 8, iirc. She had been missing 6 months.

They might not have been completly intact due to animals, sadly.

Would it have been easier to get the bodies to that spot via the lake or via the road? I know, it's just opinions, but I'm curious what others think.
