I took away exactly the opposite from the interview--they think its a sex offender. No indication they know who. MOO

It's very hard using snippets out of context (I can't wait till we get a transcript) but they have apparently stated it is likely the girls know their abductor.

They must have based this belief on something.

Sometimes LE discloses bits to the family because they are more "need to know" than we are. We all thought my cousin, Bobby, died because he was driving drunk. It wasn't until much later that we found out they suspect he was forced off of the road. But his mother and sister knew all along. The police told them he was robbed at the scene of the accident and there was paint from another vehicle on the back of his car. His case is still open.

Drew is has confidence LE are doing everything right, and are not "without a clue" as has been stated too many times.

I believe he is right.

I so hope we can see the full interview online soon. I've been trying to find it.

I found it interesting that Elizabeth's parents want to work with anti-sex trafficking groups and/or protecting children from sex offenders in the future. I am wondering if this is something they decided awhile ago or if they feel that this is relevant to their child's murder.

Perhaps they learned a lot about trafficking since the abduction, as many of us did here, and decided it is something they would want to get involved in.

If the girls were take for sex trafficking, they would not have been found dead 20 miles away, IMO.

I'm sorry for your loss, Ms Pragmatic. I hope you have answers for his case soon.

I second that.

Thank you to our sleuthers who are providing details live.

Some of us cannot access certain overseas video.

Thank you so much for posting the detail.

Snippets posted on the site below from Live Interview of Heather and Drew which I don't see available yet:

Ron: What will Xmas be like this yr? Heather: "I don't know. Other kids are still here... Instead of gifts, we always did a vacation."
Drew: "Everyone kind of has their eyes on him, so if it has nothing to do with him, it's even harder on him."
Drew: "When the methamphetamine comes into play, it just makes you a different person. But I still love Dan. When he was clean, it was great
Today, 2:24 pm
Drew: "Once in a while he'll call me... I love Dan a lot. ... When he's clean and sober, he's the greatest guy in the world to be around."
Heather: "It's just so bizarre that that (Dan's trial and the disappearance) would be so close together."

I think she does forgive her deep inside, loves her but doesn't like her.
The burden she is carrying is huge, I can only think she is not strong enough to carry Misty too. That is understandable.. Sad but understandable.

I understand it very well, my sister and I have a similar situation. I've had to be strong for her and her kids, even raised her two precious boys for five years, while she did what she wanted without concerns about the consequences.

So while I can say that I love my sister very much, there are many times when I don't like her and a few times when I truly resent her. I can see Heather probably feeling the same way, in spite of her Christian attitude of forgiveness.

Trafficking can occur while the child is still in the home.

It doesn't mean chains, chloroform, and being carted off to a brothel anymore, like the old days of white slavery.

Human trafficking is defined as the sexual use of a person by another person to gain profit.

I saw a girl on Dr Phil who was trafficked for years, by her own father. The customers came to their house to abuse her in her own bedroom, and he got cheaper drugs as a payoff.

Thank you, carbuff. We are pretty confident we know who did it. And so are the police. The guy is actually now locked up for a very long time for drug and other offenses. It is frustrating.

Hm. Heather said "we had eight wonderful years with her" - probably reading too much into it but does that mean she was gone before her birthday?

Heather's strength is absolutely incredible. I haven't found the newer interview yet, but finally got the older one from a couple of days ago to load. Wow.

Me too.

Forensic linguistics indicate that (based on the snippets posted here) Drew and Heather have an excellent idea who is involved, but clearly cannot say so.

Can you please quote any statements made by Heather or Drew that support your comment?

Well, she was gone before her birthday. From Heather and Dan's pov, anyway.

I most certainly will, just as soon as I have access to a transcript.

I'm confused here (nothing new, tho) Who, exactly is "locked up for a very long time" and in any relation to this crime directly? As I understand it, LE doesn't even have an official POI.

Well, she was gone before her birthday. From Heather and Dan's (comment: assume you meant Drew's?) pov, anyway.

That's true, and was my first thought. I was also thinking about how they had a birthday party for her and wished she could be there, so maybe at that time they thought she was at least still alive. When hearing this from Heather I thought it sounded like she knew Elizabeth didn't live to see her 9th BD. Like I said, probably reading way too much into it on my part.
