I think they have a clue, they just can't prove it.

They can't prove it because people aren't talking. LE's frustration at this has been clear, and they have expressed it several times.

People aren't talking because...well, I'm not really sure why. Eight attendees at the BHCSO's public forum indicates that people are just not that passionate about solving this crime.

It baffles me. Why does this town appear almost totally disinterested in this investigation? :dunno:

My heart fill's with tear's when I think what Lyric and Elizabeth had to go through . I can't imagine how the family get by all this . Tomorrow is my Birthday and my neighbor Faith is baking mer a cake my wish will be that the girl's have justice and who ever is responsible get's arrested and life in prisonment or the death penalty . An Eye for and Eye So be it .Thank all of you sleauther's for hanging in here for our girl's your a great bunch of trooper's . We will have Justice God's will be done.

Can't the media just request the death certificates for the girls--and see what it says? Yeah, it might just say "Homicide" but maybe it will give more information?

Angie was found November 27, 1993. This is from a February 5, 1994 article:

Authorities have withheld details of how Angie was killed. But her death certificate at the Missouri Department of Health in Jefferson City says she died from hypothermia .

Sources said Angie had been restrained to a tree and left to die.

Dr. Mary Case, the St. Charles County medical examiner, signed the death certificate last month. Case said exposure to the cold killed Angie.

So it seems that Angie's death certificate did not say "Homicide" but had "Hypothermia" instead?

Maybe cause of death was homicide and manner of death was hypothermia?

Yeah, I didn't think of that but that would make sense. So if the media were to request the death certificates for Elizabeth and Lyric, wouldn't it say Homicide...and whatever the manner of death was?

"The cause and manner of death are considered public information under Iowa’s open-records law, “unless disclosure would jeopardize an investigation or pose a clear and present danger to the public safety or the safety of an individual.” Iowa law stipulates that medical examiner records and reports shall be released to a law enforcement agency that is investigating a death and to the decedent’s immediate next of kin, unless doing so could jeopardize an investigation or present a danger to someone’s safety."

If the manner of death is known, I assume it would be on the death certificate.

Since Nancy Grace hasn't had a "bombshell" announcement about the death certificates, I'm assuming media has not been able to obtain copies.

Assuming death certificates have even been issued yet.

It is so quiet now and so sad.
I know there are events being planned,
I guess I wish the investigation was going somewhere.

I also think on Friday and Saturday nights that maybe someone will get drunk
enough or high enough to let something slip and someone wil be able to turn them in.
I pray everyday that justice will be done for these two angels.lease:
So that no more people will be harmed from the killer (s).

Wasn't there a case from around there, from about that time on Unsolved Mysteries, of a boy who went out walking in the forest near his home with his dog, and never came home? And he was found dead, tied to a tree. Wasn't it suspected he had witnessed something to do with dope, seeing a drop from the sky, or a dope exchange in the forest? Such evil.

A child tied to a tree? Is that the story the arrested person told, or did police conclude that a child tied to a tree was drug related? I don't think I've ever heard of an adult being tied to a tree because of witnessing drugs being dropped from the sky. Any sign of sexual assault?

Wasn't an 11 year old girl abducted by a father and photographer, and left to die in the mountains NW of Evansdale and North of Westminster shortly after Jessica, Lyric, Elizabeth were murdered ... but a group of hunters was still on the mountain and they rescued her as she was running and hiding in ditches in a grizzly forest? She was sexually assaulted and left to die ... but not tied to a tree. She most likely would have died had the group of hunters not found her. Isn't that similar ... the child tied to the tree ... sexual assault and left to die?
