Search along the Cedar River - all has been checked up and down the river. Hopefully something will transpire. Been doing this for quite awhile and not giving up hope - parents are not giving up hope - neither has LE.

An attempted abduction 3 months earlier about 100 miles southwest of Waterloo in Altoona, Iowa:

- Altoona police said an 11-year-old boy reported an abduction attempt Wednesday afternoon. The boy said a he was approached by a man in a dark green van while on his way home from Centennial Elementary School on 15th Street SE. The boy said the man asked him if he wanted to get into the van and go play X-Box games. The boy said he told the man "no," and rode his bike home to report the exchange to his mother.He described the man as tanned, wearing sunglasses and a hoodie. The van was described as dark green, similar to a delivery van.

What is it with DWT (damn white trucks) and dark green vans!!!

Is one family trying to stay to the side - doesn't know why one would talk more than the other family. Family is free to talk with whoever they want.

As long as tips coming in LE has no intention of scaling back. Tips have been coming in - starting to slow down but still coming in. Number of tips rec'd is being tallied in the command centre.
Rumours coming in and latest one is that the girls were found in the landfill....not true.

Not just sitting and spinning wheels - are the families being watched - families are not being watched as far as he knows - some family has been down by the lake. There is equipment coming to the lake at 6am Friday morning and the parking lot by the lake needs to be cleared out so equipment can get in.

getting tips called in from other areas - not just black hawk county

pretty much focus still here in this community

the fbi has been very cooperative
they have offered any resources they need

Hopefully by friday lake will be completely drained - not sure why taking so long

He doesn't know anything about why people were looking in the pipe (Arrgh!)

Nothing suspicious about it taking time to drain - nothing wrong with the drain
the grates are in fact in place - he checked that right off

One bike had kick stand on it one did not. Leaning up against fence when he saw it.

We are not scaling back. Too early to do that. As long as tips keep coming in we will have boots on the ground.

I can't help but think the bikes and purse were left there to throw LE off the track too.

I took the "more comfortable" quote that she would prefer to wait and see if they drowned before wanting to think about them being abducted. Personally, if they are no longer w/us I would want to believe drowning -not that they had been kidnapped. If kidnapped, God knows what has happened or is happening to them. If they drowned, it would devastating but the family would know they didn't suffer for long.

I've been following and reading along and just thought of this. The police spokesperson made a comment about the bikes being propped up on the fence. This meant someone took the time to prop these bikes up versus dropping them and running. It is all so mind boggling! I can't stop thinking (worrying) about those girls!!

so LE says bikes were up against the fence right? That means they were moved (most likely by the tipster who almost wrecked running into them on his own bike?)

Different day = different thoughts and questions:

LE insists that the last time the girls were seen was 12:15 which I believe is the time that grandma seen them on their bikes in the parking lot by that store that she could see from her house. Is it possible that the store has a surveillance camera and it has shown something to LE - like maybe the girls were taken from that back parking lot along with their bikes. Or maybe they met up with somebody in the parking lot and agreed to meet by the lake?

Is there a camera on that store in the parking lot where the girls were last seen by Grandma - Ollipop are you around?

Also LE are asking for tips from anybody who seen the two girls on that whole day on Friday the 13th and they are not confining the tips to the after 12:15 timeframe ... so I think they have seen something on some surveillance tapes from somewhere which is suspicious. Draining the lake is a smoke screen IMO.
