Tony T's response seems to indicate that LE is glad that the Angel Park issue has become the headline and allowed the investigation to continue without the public pressure of the the press all in their faces.

Wonder if that has been allowing them a bit more freedom to follow up leads without the press or public being up their butts about it. If that is the case, it makes me wonder what those leads could be and how they are coming with them.

Hopefully this will bear fruit.

I agree Pat, I also wonder if Heather has forgiven her RSO friend. I'm sure she has. Oh my.

And the fact that Mr. Anderson is a convicted child sex abuser doesn't exactly make me happy. What the heck is up with that?

http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=2ymsgfb&s=6

Let's see ... 30 yrs ago. we played albums (no longer used), played 8 track tapes (any players even around?), Cost of a gallon of Gas $.86 cents (show me where I can find that today), the assassination of John Lennon. Ronald Reagan is elected towards the end of the year (no interviews with him today!), Who Shot JR? (can't interview Larry today) - And what we were listening to "on the radio" that year when Buzz went to court:

•Call Me - Blondie
•Another Brick In The Wall - Pink Floyd
•Magic - Olivia Newton-John
•Rock With You - Michael Jackson
•Do That To Me One More Time - Captain & Tennille
•Fame - Irene Cara
•Working My Way Back to You/Forgive Me, Girl - The Spinners
•Funkytown - Lipps, Inc., Lipps, Inc.

•Little Jeannie - Elton John
•Upside Down - Diana Ross
•He's So Shy - The Pointer Sisters
•Please Don't Go - KC & the Sunshine Band

•Turning Japanese - The Vapors
•Rapper's Delight - Sugar Hill Gang
•Whip It - Devo
•Escape (The Piña Colada Song) - Rupert Holmes
•Crazy Little Thing Called Love - Queen
•It's Still Rock n' Roll To Me - Billy Joel
•Sailing - Christopher Cross
•Another One Bites the Dust - Queen

what's my point? Have there been any arrests of Buzz since that time? Do we believe in rehabilitation? Did a drug-induced past, flaming sexual desires, and no morals influence the actions of a person 30+ years ago ... the answer could be yes. Can a person ever be accepted into society for the wrongs of their past 3 decades ago? You tell me.

That is a wonderful memorial idea God Bless you for that . You know Cinder I have often wondered if The school the girls went to had their Teacher have the girls classmate write an Essay regarding their contact and friend ship with the girls . One child may hold information that is needful in this Long investigation . It would be interesting to read what the children had to say regarding Lyric & Elizabeth . May this case be solved soon . Justice will be served it just takes time .:banghead: RIP LYRIC & ELIZABETH

When i was at seven bridges this last time I scooped some dirt from the site a body was found and brought it home and put it in a jar and made my own memorial. I added a flower from the site and a shell I found there. I also added a rock from the area at Meyers by the gate. It is my little memorial to this case. The rock, shell and flower at the top of the jar.

Oh cinder! That is a wonderful tribute to the girls! One of my favorite blogs put a similar project here: http://www.designsponge.com/2013/04/diy-nature-office-organizer.html

Feeling like “you live in a cubicle” 40+ hours a week and hardly get to see the sun and living growing things on the weekdays? We’re lucky enough that even when we can’t make it outdoors, we’re surrounded by beauty and greenery. We want everyone to be able to have a daily slice of the outdoors, so here’s a way to bring a little green into your work week. We devised a simple structure to house files, catalogues, or mail that utilizes moss, foraged findings, and natural elements. We love this assemblage of little pieces of nature under glass to create structure and order for your work space or home. You can use anything you love, whether it’s a mass of little fallen acorns collected from your favorite park, stones and shells you found on your memorable beach vacation, or a dropped feather you found while hiking through the woods. There’s no right or wrong, just what inspires you. Maybe it’s something you even swap out every couple months to reflect the changing seasons! -the Ladies of Forêt

My husband says I'm like a little raccoon. On every walk I take, I find "something", usually something shiny, an interesting rock or pinecone or broken bit of glass or pottery. I love moss. You have inspired me cinder!

I must be like a raccoon also, I love looking for different little artifacts in the dirt. I always wished I would of pursued my love of archeology.

Thanks for the thoughtful memorial that was very sweet of you Cinder. I have often wondered if the School teacher's of both girl's had , had an Essay written up by their class mate as to what the girl's conversation and friendship was like . Children know thing's that us adult's never even think of . It would be great to have further insight into thier live's before they were abducted .Just thinking .

I have not said anything about whether or not Buzz should be forgiven, as that was not necessarily the focus of my concern. I could care less if he is forgiven by anyone.

I found it odd that Heather and this man are such friends and that he has so much input regarding a public memorial built supposedly from donations and by volunteers. JMO.

ETA: Anyone wanting to see whether or not this individual has been involved in other illegal activities can do so on the Iowa Courts online site. But remember that on WS, we can't sleuth this man so you'll need to do the research just for your own knowledge. I don't want us to get in trouble by posting anything.

Interesting thought... the children putting their memories to paper could have been, if for no other reason, good therapy for them. imo

yes, I read all that info post 1937 refers to and tried to do some research and came up with absolutely nothing Negative on Buzz since this conviction, in fact, on the contrary. It appears that he has been a positive asset to the community through donations of time and $$$.
Shoot, was Heather even born when this crime occurred? Is this common knowledge; did she even know about his past when he gave her the donations?
And remember we discussed -

We've read about people that are uninterested in the memroial and also about the changes that have been made to the Island in preparation for the memorial. We have also read about people that are not happy with the changes on the Island.

Lyric and Elizabeth have made their mark.

An Island has been designated for that memorial.. A little bit of "hey, atta go" would be appreciated in light of the "it's crap" comments.

There's no where to go but forward

... make it good!

Re the Memorial Island: At the moment, I am reading "You Can Garden Anywhere.

Slow runoff down a slope. Turn troublesome terrain into a gardening opportunity. A series of terraces across a slope will slow the rush of water downhill and prevent erosion. Too much trouble to build. Simply put in plants that thrive under special conditions a slope creates.

* For the top and incline, select perennials and shrubs with deep, dense root systems - think daylilies, California Fuchia, or any clump-forming, ornamental grass. Select varieties that enjoy dry soil.

* For the bottom, pick plants that don't mind occasional sogginess, since water tends to pool here.

I think the native Hibiscus is a great choice and I love daylilies. Ornamental grasses would be great too and provide shelter and food for birds.

Working on my own little garden. I think I shall call it my "blog garden" and put in plants and such that remind me of you guys!!! :blushing:

https://www.facebook.com/DesMoinesRegister?filter=2

This is a direct link to the Des Moines Register FB page.

Apparently Heather (or moreso Drew) thinks it's funny that people are upset about the complete scalping of Meyer's Lake.

Heather received a "surprise" cake from Buzz Anderson whom she is friends with and made these comments regarding the trees on the cake on her FB page.

http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=2ymsgfb&s=6

People are very concerned about the Collins' connection to Mr. Anderson and his funding of Angel's Park.

Those comments made about the trees really leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

Oh Boy! I think the u know what has begun to hit the fan! This is not good! I had a suspicion he was the one behind the funding!! This is going to go over like a lead balloon, but it doesn't sound like HC "gets" it. :banghead:

Off topic, but I wonder I could be related to the person that posted that on FB. I was a Yates before I married! :rocker:
