There is was just a story on the KWWL news that three witnesses came forward & said there was a white SUV parked on Arbutus. It might have been an older, box model. A couple of the witnesses came forward early on. One was several months later. Story should be on the website soon. A lot of bad weather around here right now, so I missed part of the story.

LE need to get these individuals to agree on a photo and get that out to the public.
I have an image in my mind, but others may think differently.
If it is in fact an older model of a chevy suburban or gmc, there are not that many of them around, especially in the north due to harsh winters.
Or was it a Ford Bronco OJ style suv??

I am not denying that MK has a past that would certainly make him a plausible suspect in L&L's case. However, I think had he only abducted one girl we wouldn't necessarily be AS inclined to believe that he's immediately "the guy". Yes, he took two girls...HOWEVER, how many kids were walking home that day alone that day? Along that specific path that he was on.
If he would have come across one girl, she may have been more apt to run. Him approaching two girls probably made it LESS likely that he would be a "bad guy" in these girls minds. :(

However, I personally feel the circumstances surrounding Lyric and Elizabeth's case are too perfect.

These girls reportedly had never been to the lake. Arguable for sure, given reports that Elizabeth not only had friends in the area, but was frequently seen riding her bike in the general vicinity of the lake. Even if they had been to the lake before, why did they just happen to stop in the ONLY remote section of the bike path the entire lake and bike path had to offer?

These girls were riding from home to the lake at a pretty good clip. Not a casual riding, lollygagging along as girls would do in general play. No...these girls were riding with intent I think. I personally feel that they went there under the impression they were meeting someone in that specific spot as this person knew where to park their car (Maiden Lane) and not be seen.

I also feel that the likelihood of a perp getting away with zero foreign DNA in this case is extremely unlikely. I think DNA would have more than likely been left behind on the bikes/purse/girls...SOMETHING would have been left behind. I also think that LE has had a God's plenty of time to rule MK in or out. The fact they haven't said squat tells me they know he's not their guy.

LE has been entirely too tight lipped on this case for it to be someone the public needed to fear...or they felt could strike again at random. Regardless of their obligated replies/reminders ONLY when prompted, I always had this feeling that they didn't feel the public as a whole was in immediate danger of a child killer on the hunt.

I think LE is going to stay as tight lipped as they can on this and play the game of "we are keeping this close to the vest" because if the truth about this entire investigation were to come to light there would be some butts on the line.

And the main reason I feel that it's someone local/familiar and not random? Because an arrest has NOT been made yet. What they DO have can all be explained by a defense attorney and isn't enough to get a conviction. :banghead:

Authorities hope this may jog people's memory and they may get more information with this tip now out in the public.

"There (are) just a lot of reports, a lot of information to read through," said Mike Roehrkasse with the Iowa Department of Criminal Investigation. "Now that there's a little bit of a lull, we are able to start pouring through those reports and make those connections."

"I think, and I hope, that this is kind of the beginning," he added.

Huh...amazing how long it's taking them to weed though these reports and to release something that 3 people apparently reported. Maybe if this was released a year ago people's minds would have been a little more fresh to recall seeing a vehicle of this description. :banghead:

Also, if MK had a vehicle like this, they would already know this. The fact that they are looking for this vehicle rules out MK IMO. MK's wife would have already made that connection if it had to do with MK.

OMG...THANK YOU! WTF is going ON?!
From the sounds of it, someone finally had an afternoon to waste and start looking into that silly report a year ago that two little girls were abducted and murdered.

and you know what, I bet anyone of us would have VOLUNTEERED a week of our time to read through reports from people to put two and two together!

I'm speechless.

and you know what, I bet anyone of us would have VOLUNTEERED a week of our time to read through reports from people to put two and two together!

I'm speechless.

I was equally shocked by the reporter!

Guess it was a slow news cycle ... this could easily be a HEADLINE NEWS!

"I THINK AND I HOPE, THAT THIS IS KIND OF - THE BEGINNING"

Who in hell is running this show, if anybody? This is exactly what I was afraid for
months ago when I thought I sensed stalling. Cases in small towns get referred to
a higher level and disappear into a black hole. Sometime later someone surfaces in
the Palace of the Oracle at Delphi and says: "Oh yea. We're working on it". A
generation later it's an unsolved matter. I could cite chapter and verse ...

I now expect a retraction QUICK! "Oh no! We're working on it - right on schedule".

The reporter will be shuffled off to cover the Fog & Dumpling Festival and instructed
to refer all calls to ... the next news anchor at NEWS ACTION NEWS-NEWS NO. #1.

 :banghead: :truce:

I apologise in advance for my frustration. Sorry.

Unbelievable that this information is being released almost one year after L & L's abduction.. What were investigators thinking? tragic, imo...

All of three of these individuals say they saw this SUV between the times of 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. on July 13, 2012.

Authorities hope this may jog people's memory and they may get more information with this tip now out in the public.

"I think, and I hope, that this is kind of the beginning," he added.

All three of the witnesses describe the vehicle as a large and clunky white SUV.

One of the witnesses described the SUV as an old-style boxy suburban.

Two of these witnesses came forward with this information during canvassing. The other tip came in several months later because the person thought someone had already brought this up.

Authorities want people to remember that, no matter the size or significance of the tip, it is important to them.

The grisly murder and robbery of an elderly couple in Waterloo, Iowa, stunned the community three decades ago. But the case remained unsolved until a 66-year-old man walked into a police station and confessed on Wednesday.

Jack Wendell Pursel was in court today for an initial appearance, where a judge raised Pursel's bail from $500,000 to $2 million for shooting Richard Huntbach, 85, and wife Goldie, 77.

At the time of the murder, Pillack said authorities interviewed "a lot of people," including Pursel, but weren't able to make any arrests. He may have dated a relative of the couple around the time of the crime, the Associated Press reported.

Soon after, Pursel moved to California, where he was convicted of two counts of oral copulation with a minor, according to California's sex offender registry.

This is just one of the reasons WHY it is so important for parents and
family and neighbors, to watch and protect their own, before something unwanted can
happen. This was always true as opposed to being just some recent
phenomenon.

It always comes down to the basics, doesn't it.

Re post, as this case involves "large' white suv.
"The car followed the girl as she walked a couple of blocks north to the 6700 block of Dunham Road, when the girl changed directions and ran, police said. The vehicle then left in an unknown direction. A subsequent police search for the car in nearby areas was unsuccessful.

Police released a composite and said officers are looking for a man, believed to be between 30 and 40 years old, with brown hair that is long in back and tied into a ponytail".

Recent creepy behavior involving a man and woman driving a white suburban suv.

http://westernsprings.patch.com/gro...n-suv-film-kids-ask-if-they-want-candy-police

"A man in an SUV appeared to film two separate groups of boys Saturday evening along Lawn Avenue in Western Springs while the female driver asked them if they wanted candy, police said.

The woman told the boys the candy was in the back of the SUV, police said. She also asked if they “wanted to film some video” on an iPhone-type device the man was using. She did not try to actually touch the boys and drove away when they declined. The boys were between the ages of 9 and 14."
