"Lancaster said the odds of finding missing persons’ remains – or evidence of other crimes -- increase during the shotgun deer season, when more than 70,000 hunters comb through remote woods and fields.

More Iowans are afield during the two shotgun deer seasons (Dec. 1-5 and Dec.8-16) than at any other time of the year, she said."

Please forgive me with these questions as I'm coming in 36 threads deep and haven't had time to read very much yet.

What did these 3 people that found the girls do for a living? The girls were taken on a Friday afternoon & they were found on a Wednesday afternoon? What were they hunting? Plus these three participated in the initial search for the girls and never thought they would be the ones that actually found them....too many things throwing up red flags for me.

One of the three works at John Deere. He has a pretty open Facebook profile.

Soooooo....apparently it may not have thrown up any red flags if someone were to have used an ATV to haul the girls bodies into the park and dump them.

From the sounds of it, the majority of these calls of people "tearing up the park" with ATV's came AFTER the girls were found.

I wonder how common ATV usage was in the park prior to the girls deaths. If it was common, maybe the people who live in the area kind of became accustomed to the noise and would have thought nothing of it.

An ATV would make hauling their bodies MUCH easier and be in and out very quick like.

Not sure what they do for a living. They were deer hunting.

I don't think they are under suspicion, they would have been questioned extensively.

That's what I was thinking also, plus saying they are looking for anyone who may have been to the park when they were younger would make it seem like they are looking for middle age, someone who was old enough to go there before the flood washed the bridge out and made the park look less appealing to have family picnic's.

Seems to me both yes and no. I'm from Waverly, lived there my entire life until I moved to Waterloo 10 years ago. I've never heard of Seven Bridges or been there. However, older Waverly locals (50s-60s) are familiar with it.
My husband is from Denver and used to party there in high school. He's 32. In talking with him, he believes anyone his age from Denver, Readlyn, Fairbank, or Dunkerton should know the area. Btw, I did call in two of his more suspicious acquaintances. Better safe than sorry!

Here is the list of questions callers are being asked - does this give us any information to chew on?

1. Name of POI
2. Approximate age of POI
3. All known telephone numbers of POI
4. Address of POI
5. POI's ties to Seven Bridges (did they hunt, camp, etc.)
6. Occupation of POI
7. Vehicles used by POI
8. Has POI been engaged in previous criminal activity? If so, what?

I think they have DNA and/or a fingerprint, and the question about criminal activity makes me think the person who did this does not have a criminal history or any fingerprints on their system.

One of the three works at John Deere. He has a pretty open Facebook profile.

After doing some research on them plus checking out some outliers... there are many things that are throwing up red flags for me. I bet LE has noticed also.

Question. The hunter says he stumbled across the remains of the girls. The bodies were far apart right?

Then why ask for everyone who has ever been to seven bridges to come forward? It stated in the article that KD had fished there before. If LE thought they were involved, why not ask for a DNA sample?

Don't get me wrong, I have thought the same thing many times, I just don't understand asking for anyone who's been there if LE is suspicious of them.

I'd really like to see LE investigate thoroughly all of the witnesses and clear them. I don't know if they ever do that, but I'd imagine with all of the speculation about many of them, that they would be begging LE to clear them.

TG, MK, Mr C, KD probably all would benefit from being cleared.

I wonder if the perp has a solid alibi, say he abducted the girls, bound them then established an alibi, then moved them somewhere secure, went back to work that afternoon, joined the search, etc.

Hypothetical, let's say the girls stopped by the Fareway grocery and asked how to get to the lake. Perp overhears them being given directions, hops in his van/truck/suv and heads to the turnout at Artubus. Gets girls secured in back of vehicle then takes his groceries home, establishes an alibi then takes girls to secure location. Leaves girls, goes back to work or home, or wherever so that he is there all afternoon.

Not sure how to post a pic, but here is a link http://bloximages.chicago2.vip.town...09-0019bb2963f4/50c0e6e13345b.preview-620.jpg

And yes, I'd say they were spaced a ways apart.

Also, I don't understand how he didn't realize until LE said "I think we found the girls" that it was the girls. Who else could it have been? They were small child sized remains, yes?

"It didn't really cross our mind until after the highway patrolman had showed up and he had made a phone call," Dramstad said. "He said something over the phone about, 'I think we found the girls.'"

red flag

But why "find" the remains?

  • #675
I really think there are more than one perp involved, possibly three.

In the LE news conferences, sheriff says, " small bodies". Remains were small in statue. Parents did not have to see the remains so they knew it was the girls right away. Remember it was very hot that summer in the 90's with humidity. I don't think it was bones they found. I'm randomly thinking aloud here. KD says he was drawn to where the bodies were found? The bodies were at least what 50 feet apart? Then he says he didn't know it was the girls and that something led him there? Then post pictures of a young girl getting raped by three men on his facebook? I will get kicked off for this but people I think we have our suspect. I have already contacted LE, and detectives on this many times. KD and his two other buddies have an arsenal of weapons including knifes. I'm saying all this cause I love you all and know how much you all care.

Remember 9 times out of 10 the suspect gets involved in the investigation somehow.

Just for reference, here is what Tammy stated in one CNN interview regarding her actions when she arrived at the lake:

SBM
"We pulled into Meyers Lake, right about where Jim and I are standing. And I got up and just jumped out and started asking random people, Have you seen two little girls, one on a mountain bike, you know, gave the complete descriptions of them. And a man -- they have his name. I don`t know who he is. He said to me, Yes, I seen two little girls going west on the bike trail."

http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/1207/19/ng.01.html

Here is another transcript of her describing what happened:

We stop at Meyers Lake. I said, "Mom, drive me to Meyer Lake." I had Elizabeth`s older brother who`s 12, Kelly (ph), with us. And I just jumped out and started asking random strangers, "Have you seen two little girls?" Gave them the description, the colors of the bikes, and possibly what they were wearing.

And one man stepped forward and said, "Yes, I seen them going east on the bike trail at about 2:30." Now, whether he`s telling the truth or not, they do have this man`s name. You know, I don`t know. Whether he`s a person of interest, I don`t know.

SBM
And I want to go back to Tammy Brousseau. You`re the aunt of the missing girls. You said that you went two the area where they ultimately found the bikes. Did you see the bikes? Did you find them?

BROUSSEAU: I did not find them. As I was saying, a man, who I approached and started asking questions, said he had seen the girls going east on the bike trail. It`s a small lake. It wraps around on the south side of the lake.

And a little further down in the same transcript:

TAMMY RUSSO, AUNT OF MISSING GIRLS: Absolutely not. There was nothing that seemed terribly out of the ordinary. There was a little boy fishing, and he had been there a long time. I asked him as well, when I first approached and started asking random people. I said, "Did you see two little girls on a bicycle? He said "No". I said, "How long have you been here?" He said, "A long time."

So when I told you a man said that he had seen them going east on the bike trial, whether that was true or not, yes, they have his name, they know who he is. But it appears what he said was true because like I said the lake wraps around and the bikes were found on the south side. And that`s where the girls --

http://edition.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/1207/16/ijvm.01.html

I remembered Tammy talking about all the people she had questioned at the lake after they arrived at the lake to hunt for the girls and saw the interview.

The little boy was not the one to have seen the girls. It was a man at the park. Who is this man? I am assuming this is not the man who was watering in his yard. Have we found out any more info on this man who said he saw the girls going east on the bike trail? Which way is "east"? If you are looking at the lake, east would be the west side. Where on the trail did he see the girls? There is one section of the lake where the girls wouldn't have gone that way because there is no bike trail.

So, did the girls bike into the park from the parking lot on Elmer Avenue or from Arbutus Avenue? Is the "east" side the "north" side or is it the "south" side where the bikes were found?

I can't do a map, but this is the website -

Could it be possible that the man and boy were actually two young men fishing at the lake that day?

Some 20 or even 30 year olds can look very young, especially if they are small framed.
