I am in total agreement with you. The FBI would not make that statement to appease anyone. They had good reason to make the statement that they believe the girls are alive. It is unprecedented for them to make such a bold statement which leads me also to believe there is something important they know which they cannot say. I wish I could have seen the presser today. I will look for a link to see if I can assess the demeanor of those who spoke. You can read a lot in how someone speaks, sometimes more than what they say. And IMEO, the spokesperson for the FBI had the demeanor of someone who was sure, not someone out to placate. :moo:

BBM
EXACTLY!

Can anyone recall a case where the FBI made such a bold statement and it turned out they were mistaken?

@Liltexans- Do we know if the supposed raid was at the person's house we're not supposed to talk about? Or can we not talk about that either? Thx

It sounds like they are basically back to square one when one listens to that depressing presser...

Maybe they are trying to reel in a whole bunch of people at the same time and are trying to place some of them in the area that day or something. I'm talking about possible elements related to the "other" issues some family members have been involved in. Misty's odd demeanor may be influenced by that, and she may be assisting LE behind the scenes in ways of which we are unaware. Like a major sting operation.

Maybe they have been getting calls from the girls but the girls have no idea where they are? Calls are to short to trace? JMO

I have no idea if the raid that was asked about by a reporter today was at the home of anyone connected to the family. It might not have anything to do with this case.

I hope more of our locals will get verified so they can fill us in.

Were those energy drinks east to where the girls bikes were found? Dogs took police that way, this is why i am asking. Thanks

I can definitely see a recovering addict using high quantities of something like a Monster drink in an attempt to ameliorate other cravings. The ingredients in Monster would not flag on a regular urinalysis.

Welcome!! Wow - interesting. She has not been wearing the pink shirts at all - at least I do not think she has, has she? Very strange behavior - and if that is not the case (that they gave her good news), she might just be plain crazy. I have no clue.

She has a pink shirt on with the girls on it as her Facebook profile picture.

Somebody stop me! I have this incredible urge to sleuth all the family members, neighbors, casual bystanders and the LE in this case!

:whip2:

You can sleuth to your heart's content but if you say it here, you will face Nursebeeme's big, big needle.

To borrow a line: So, are you feeling lucky today?

This just sounds a little contrived to me. I mean, your child is missing and a week later you find a voice mail from her that she left on the day she went missing? Wouldn't you check your phone for all messages in case someone called and left a message about an emergency or something else. I mean a WEEK later...

This does seem very odd, but I know that, personally, I've recently had voice mails come through days after they were sent. It's happened before with my cell phone carrier. Not super common, but it does happen.

There are two others booked today with no charges listed and also on no bond hold...a female MH at 11:46 and a male GG at 2:20...

Can an accused bond out over a weekend down there ?

That's very true about a recovering user however... Anyone on probation, who is submitted to regular drug tests by a probation office, is not permitted to use energy drinks of any kind because they actually register as positive for amphetamines, and you will be arrested for violation of your probation. (I have a friend on probation)

LOL. I think what you do on your free time is up to you. You just won't be able to share anything you find with us here. At least not for now.

But its no fun if I can't share with my friends on WS! Booo....
Somebody needs to be named as a suspect!

As you can surmise by my silence, alas, I have taken Nurse's "big, big needle" into consideration.

Did they specify no one was seen following the girls? Did they say the girls were or were not followed?

Nutshell: there are no bodies in the lake and there was video footage from the Big And Tall shop that showed the two girls were leaving that area at 12:15 pm
