I agree. I don't think Gma's story is suspect either. I think she was doing the best that she could. It seemed everyone in the family relied upon her heavily. She has a daughter who is having health problems, so she feels that she needs to help out there. She takes on the role of family babysitter, errand runner, guardian of Lyric, etc. that would wear ME out and she probably has at least 20 years on me! She referred to Lyric and Elizabeth as "my kids." to me, that says a lot.

Shes doing what she can for her family. Looks like life had been a little hard on her, too, poor girl.

I don't suspect the grandmother of anything. I am just very confused by the changing timeline.

  • #1,104
I could have sworn that we were told 11:30 in earlier reports. This is baffling.

Yes we were, they just have it wrong. What frustrates me it's seeing the missing posters all around town (the Cedar Valley...) that say they were least seen at 2:30 riding their bikes by Meyers Lake. I know that Tammy said that, But I don't think it was ever confirmed by a witness.

And yet Misty actually HAS a confirmed alibi but everyone already has her tied to the stake with a box of matches ready to go. Hmmmm. :(

not everyone frayed!

I think the girls were taken by sexual predator(s)

I haven't seen Dan doing any interviews nor seen him on any videos since the extra supervision was placed on him - unless I missed a video or two.

Ya, Katydid. I think the ever-changing timeline is baffling too. I think it's confusing to so many because some of the stories seemed to have evolved or been embellished over time. I think some of the confusion could've been avoided had the family elected a spokesperson other than Aunt T. She has been the source of my confusion in many instances. :)

Maybe the reason it is so confusing is because TB has talked so many reporters and i bet it is her that has the timelines all over the place JMO

EDITED: Sorry i just realized i am saying the same thing you just did. Ohh i need sleep lol

If he had such a great plea deal set up, why is he a no-show?

Excellent question. Maybe he was working out of town or his car broke down? Perhaps he’s missing, endangered, or a throwaway in a larger scheme?

:floorlaugh: The visual of TB drivin' pants-less down the side of the road on the flat/rim to see her son in :jail: prison w/ the passenger hanging TB's pants out the window. WOWZA! :what:

You have to admit tho, it is an energy-efficient way to dry out your bloomers!

So, TB's trouble incident (http://www.state.ia.us/dentalboard/Orders/BertchFindingsMay08.pdf) states that at the last second she changed her guilty plea and requested a continuance.

That sounds kinda familiar to me...

edit - "Respondent wanted more time to communicate with the attorney who had represented her on the criminal charge, apparently for the purpose of seeking to withdraw her guilty plea."

Police can't say why they strongly believe the girls are alive. But if this guy that didnt show up for court was a person of interest, maybe we will hear about it now because he is wanted. Maybe they have been looking for him to talk to but was unable to locate him and was waiting to see if he showed up for court? Just a thought.

I hope if police think this guy is questionable to the case that LE post this picture http://www.bhcso.org/Print.aspx?o=warrant&id=2546 and ask if anyone saw him that day. JMO

This news is very alarming.

Why wouldn't a man show up in court if he wasnt even going to do any prison time?

Since he has a bench warrant for his arrest it seems LE doesnt know where he is.

Very strange timing, imo.

Does he live close to the lake?

IMO

Maybe he is missing by choice?

Now I am wondering if he hasnt been in the area since the girls went missing or shortly thereafter.

imo

I had to watch it about 15 times to see it but I see it now. I am going to try to get a screen print. Freaking me out.

I think the video is cut from one that was looped so it is actualy the video starting over. JMO.

I am not sure but I do believe this.

My mind's eye is temporarily blinded. Picturing that scene had me laughing this morning. I think humor saves me from despair quite often.

Anyone wanting to see if the videos are different or the same, here's a thought (I don't have time to follow up on it myself right now) -

in the newest ABC news piece that shows the video with the 12:11 time stamp, he talks to a man and says he's the owner or manager of the "auction house" with the video camera. That man's name is given. Someone can look to see if he's attached to Lederman's or just the auction house, perhaps, to find out which building the camera is on.

Oh my! So worried about these poor little girls. Seems that the deck has been stacked against them for a long time, what with all the criminal activity around their lives. I know this latest information does not mean any involvement by anyone in particular, but it sure paints an ugly picture of what the children in this family have or may have been exposed to. Sure hate to say it but the Hailey Dunn case comes to mind, what with all the drug use/possession, etc.

My mind was meandering to the dark side: "We have a little task for you on Friday morning, you will be handsomely rewarded." (Later) "A job well done, but thank you, your services are no longer required and nobody will miss you."
