I live in Waterloo, IA and LOCK the doors and the basement door - and have a 120 pound dog - - - and still jump if I hear a noise - walnuts were hitting the house - and I thought I was going to have a heart attack - I was so scared - too scared to even look out the window - what has this world come to?

Yes, according to Misty M, Lyric had been with another cousin, not Elizabeth, when she was late. I see references to "walking" though:

D. MORRISSEY: I was in Waterloo at my mom`s house with my son. And I was taking a nap, and my wife called and woke me up and told me that Lyric was missing.

This had just happened probably four days before, that where she was supposed to go to, you know, a certain destination and then come back, and after a while she hadn`t come back. And they went to that destination and she wasn`t there. And so things got stirred up. My wife called me then and told me the same thing, that she`s missing. And I told her to call the cops.

And they went around to drive around some more, and all of a sudden my daughter`s calling me from my wife`s phone and saying, "Daddy." You know?

So four days after that I`m getting another call from my wife and saying the same thing, you know. So I`m like what? And so she was out looking for her and I guess, you know, the police got involved and...

Snipped

M. MORRISSEY: Yes. A week before this, Lyric and her other cousin, Tammy`s daughter, 🤬🤬🤬, who were in Green Briar, which is another division of Waterloo, and they went walking to the park.
They were gone for an extended amount of time. We went looking for them at the park, and they weren`t there. So we called the police. They -- right when I called the police they came walking up to the house.

This behavior harkens me back to my own childhood. I had a girl cousin my same age and for some reason when we were together we used to do foolish things. Especially involving older boys. We must have had angels looking over our shoulders because we survived. We used to walk every where at age 11 and we would wave back at older teens in cars and talk to any older guys that bothered to speak to us. 10 and 11 yr olds can be very dangerous ages because the kids are a volatile mixture of mature/immature.

Quote:

The couple said life will forever be different, but it doesn't stop. After all, they have three other children to care for ---<Mod Snip> said the kids miss their sister terribly and pray for her safe return, along with their cousin. Like typical siblings, the kids laughed, played and bugged each other.

End Quote:

So sad to think about their siblings.

Sorry my post had to be edited to remove the children's names. Never occurred to me they couldn't be posted. Thanks.

just because someone has an alibi doesn't mean that they weren't involved - and in one of the interviews - did I hear this correct - first was - I left at 8:30 a.m. for work - and then like 10 minutes later - my sister and I left at 8:30 a.m. to run personal errands??????

Missing Iowa Cousins: Surveillance Video of Elizabeth Collins and Lyric Cook Discovered

http://abcnews.go.com/US/missing-io...-collins-lyric/story?id=16850676#.UBE_FGFfE9A

A huge thanks ~n/t~.

I missed this info before.
"It looked kind of grainy, I mean just zoom they were by the thing and so it's very hard to really make much out of the thing," Black Hawk County Chief Deputy Rick Abben said. "The girls were less than a block from the house when this camera captured them riding by, important to note they were riding away from Meyers Lake."

No. Here is the NG transcripts

COOK-MORRISSEY: I left for work at 8:30 AM. She gave me a hug and a kiss and told me she would text me and let me know when I got off of work where she would be, either at Heather`s in Evansdale or back at our mother`s home in Waterloo.

I left for work. At 2:00 o`clock, my mother, their grandmother, called and said she couldn`t find them. They`d been on a bike ride, and you know, to come directly to Heather`s home. I only work just up the street. I came directly there.

My mom had been driving around looking for them. We stood in the yard and talked for a few minutes. Heather pulled up, had not been able to find them. It was about 2:20, 2:30 PM. And so Heather said, I`m going to the police station. And that`s when she went to the Evansdale PD to involve them.

I live south of Des Moines and I am the same way, we never even used to lock the doors in our small town, but now I make sure they are locked tight and glad we have a dog.

It is important to remember there have been no POI's, identikits, BOLO's or descriptions of any kind in this case.

Even of the victim's clothing.

LE have not issued any warnings at all.

LOL, I had the same experience living in a cabin out in the wilderness of the NW. One time it was snow falling off the trees onto the roof and the other was a howl/growl that I will never forget one night. My bf at the time was wanting to open the door and let the dog out to "get it" and I said "No, dxxx way!" I didn't look out any window either...and was scared to go outside the next morning to go to work. I flew to that car.

Everyone should lock all their doors and windows!!!!!!

What bothers me the most is LE still clings to the 12:15 sighting in town as the last time the girls were seen. Does that mean that none of the other sightings have been verified?

Even the scent dogs are not convincing LE that the girls were ever there that day.

Is that the interview on TV with HL (i think that is correct) I think it was like the first tv - not from the news station -

Wait a minute...she works at a Casey's right? (whatever that is).

I thought it had been decided she worked at the OTHER Caseys, across town, nowhere near where the girls had biked?

Was her workplace located on the path from grammas to the lake, or not?

Hi, Im new here, finally got registered. I live in central Iowa about an hour away from Evansdale and have been keeping up on this case since the beginning. Yesterday my husband and I went to Evansdale and I wanted to see for myself the area and I have my own theories. I first found Lyrics grandmas house where the bike ride started and followed it to River forest drive which is like 1000 ft up and turned right, went down Lafayette st, and turned to go down a street to the back of the Big and Tall store and auction house where they were seen on camera. Saw the camera myself, then I went pass Caseys general store and down Lafayette street heading east to a nature tral thats also a bike trail that takes you directly to the spot where the bikes were found at the lake. So they easily could have been on their way to the lake, easily in no time as fast as they were riding. My theory is they met the perp for a boat ride, where the bikes were found is at the east end of the lake along a very closed in tree lined area. I feel it was someone who lives on that small lake. There is a small boat ramp where the bikes where found. I feel he said, "just leave your purse, we will be back". Also I stood at the entrance to the Lake and I was amazed how small and compact the area is. And I might add so very very sad.

I am sorry to say this, but after two weeks, I am not sure LE knows much more than when they started on this case.
