I think some of the scenarios being offered here suffer from one serious problem, too many points between a and b. I tend to follow the logic of Occam's razor in thinking that the reality is much simpler. The girls were riding around, a predator spotted them, a predator lured them and kidnapped them.

SBM

My problem with that is -- why go after 2 girls? That isn't exactly Occam's razor. It seems too difficult for a random predator to target 2 girls.

Also, can you discount Dan's pre-trial hearing date? To me, Occam's razor looks more like --
Dan was a rat. People got pissed. People decided to make him pay by taking what was most precious to him.

There's so much more going on here than we know. The strange wording of the judge about D's court case. I strongly suspect something is going on in regards to the drugs, whether it's the cause of the disappearance or not there's so much more here!

On another point, can anyone offer clarification about the fact that the cellphone was found outside of the purse?

If that is in fact true, maybe they weren't lured at all, but rather quickly snatched.

Found this little bit about the purse...

The girls' bikes are located along the bike trail on the southeast corner of Meyers Lake by an Evansdale firefighter. Elizabeth's purse, which contained a cell phone, was found nearby

Why would Morrisseys want to do something that brings attention, national attention to their drug problems? IDK.

Why do any people on drugs do the things they do? Why did they do the things they did in the first place? Possibly to try to dig out of the ever deeper hole they have fell into? I don't know the drug mindset. I even had to look up Methemphetamine to see what it was and what it does to you. What I found out was SCARY!

snip

"Judge Andrea Dryer delayed Morrissey's trial until August 28 to give him additional time to focus on the criminal charges he faces."

BBM that wording sounds curious to me.

Seems like DM has already had plenty of time to focus on his criminal charges. Maybe the Judge meant that in light of everything going on in DM's life, DM needed more time to adequately prepare himself for trial?

I find the use of the words "focus on" a little strange. I would think "prepare for" would be more appropriate, IMO.

In any event, I hope DM's drug/legal issues have no bearing on whatever happened to Lyric and Elizabeth.

I know I am 11 or so pages behind but I could not resist.

My theory>>> He has no intentions of going to jail. Lyric was snatched (Elizabeth was not supposed to be but a fixable error) and they are being kept in hiding while someone can get as much money together as she can (from donations). Then right before the court date a family disappears (probably to Mexico where sudenephrine is readily available. They will just leave Elizabeth somewhere she can be easily found. In my theory the girls could not know who is holding them because the Elizabeth would not be freed.

very good theory!

I know this sounds crazy, but the only other person that has keys and entry to the house for sale on the lake is the realestate agent. I looked at his profile, a family man, but hey perps come in all ways.

I completely agree. Kidnapping children doesn't silence people, it should make them spill their guts and reveal every single detail they know about everyone they know until the chidlren are found.

Not it he thought he had a better chance on his own to get them back alive.

Maybe he's deciding whether he wants to continue to identify others and that was what the 5 yr sent. was based on???? Perhaps this is blackmail? Maybe that was a code message, lots of numbers in that info.

I told this story awhile ago on an early thread. When I was a preteen, one summer day a friend and I decided to go on a bike ride on a bike path along a busy road. The bike path would occasionally curve into woods, and come back to the roadside. It was much much further from home than I had ever biked without an adult.
On one curve into the woods, a man stepped out in front of our bikes holding a knife. Not even a very big knife. We both came to a stop, disembarked from our bikes as he motioned us to walk ahead if him into the woods where he "exposed" himself... Anyhow, obviously I have lived to tell the tale and my outcome was much, much better than Lyric and Elizabeth's who have been gone 2 weeks.
But, the point is, taking two girls is not hard, it isn't hard to control people when they are in fear for their lives, and it is very possible that they will go willingly, and quietly. It happens. It also happens that a person with evil intent can just be in the right place at the right time and take advantage of a situation as fast as a blink of the eye. It happened to me.

Very good point! He may actually have info that he cannot tell anyone else so he's carrying this all alone.

I speculate you are right!

Unquestioning support would be the domain of a Christian Prayer site...not Websleuths, where most posters are very astute and questioning and can smell when they're being mislead, and discern discrepancies and nuance in an investigation.

I believe that now the subpoena is issued, we can sleuth MCM and WC, and we can sleuth DM as well because he was placed under supervision a week ago by a judge and has been announced as "uncooperative".

I have yet to be corrected on this by a mod?

Either way it is not intending to be bashing anyone, merely "sleuthing" known facts as we are able under TOS, and forming opinions as to how they might explain what is so far unexplainable. We cannot control the content of these published facts, only LE can...if they are unseemly or seem to be derogatory to the family, that is hardly our fault. They are what they are and I believe we are under TOS to discuss them to the limits we have, but of course, I may be 100% incorrect as well.

Mods perhaps might like to clarify? It does seem a bit confusing.

I need to catch up on whats going on but at this point...

No one can be discussed as a suspect or person of interest since law enforcement has not said anyone is. They can not be sleuthed. You can discuss the people that are in main stream media and connected to this case as such.

You can discuss anything that has been put in main stream media. No rumors and no speculating about suspects or persons of interest.

Hope that helps.

Jax you might want to do a clean up on post #700. I removed my post due to TOS---no sleuthing the family. Thanks

Sorry.

Who benefits?

If it is a blackmail situation the people who are not identified as being involved in the drugs would. Those he has yet to reveal.

I highly doubt any doped up meth head would kidnap two little girls for any reason. What is a meth head going to do with two little girls for a couple of weeks ... feed them, give them a bed to sleep in, keep them from escaping? That makes no sense. What i mean is that meth probably has nothing to do with the reason two little girls were kidnapped.

Not sure...but (ack hate to let one's mind even wander there) but pretty sure there's maybe a 'black market' for young girls ?

Sorry making a speculation, Im new. Oops.

Or, they could've just put a bullet in his head?

True, but that would end his suffering. If you really want to make someone suffer and pay for what they did, what better way than kidnapping their kids?
