Just trying to rationalize in my own mind the bikes and the timeline.

If the girls did not ride straight to the lake and the abduction did not take place there, then why dump the bikes there? *Say they were grabbed off the street into a vehicle and the bikes were taken too. Someone would have to take the chance of being in the area longer and potentially being seen grabbing them and then leaving the bikes and making a getaway. The only way i see this scenario is if the bikes were left as a message, otherwise why not leave the area and leave the bikes somewhere they may not be found. **

With the tight timeline we have, it is more likely they rode to the lake, dropped the bikes and were lured into a secluded spot and grabbed. * The question in my mind is then simply, was someone random waiting there for a crime of opportunity, or were they followed and grabbed as retaliation.*

vox,
How would your theory work with 2 abductors?
One to get the girls into a vehicle and another to
move the bikes to the trail and throw the purse.:moo:

Thinking of the narrow double fenced area the bikes were found in - all a perp would have to do is stand toward the far west end where the two fences start and as he sees the right target coming along the path from the wooded area he just starts walking toward them. In this case the girls would have to stop their bikes because there is not enough room to go around him or turn around - and then he walks them out the east end thru the wooded area.

I just want to point regarding this that a reverse phone lookup on the CL number returns to someone who committed a crime, whereby the police found stolen scrap metal in a vehicle that was driven to the scene. So it is not like that person does not have access to a vehicle.

Sorry, I just now figured out how to quote a previous post ... that would probably make some of my previous comments a little easier to understand.

Tons of people drive without a license.

Did you look at his picture on facebook? It does not look at all like the CL guy. Unless he gained a lot of weight and got glasses. Even then I don't see the resemblance. MOO

A bull mastiff?! Um, NOT a good dog to have around kids! That is the dog breed that attacked that poor woman in San Francisco who was returning to her apartment carrying a bag of groceries. The dog burst through the door of the neighboring apartment, ripped her throat out, and killed her.

Respectfully, I'm familiar with the breed and I believe you are mistaken. I've been Googling to try to find another case that matches your description and haven't come up with anything.

If you're referring to the Diane Whipple attack in 2001, the two dogs involved were Presa Canarios. They were on lead being taken outside by one of their owners, Marjorie Knoller. The two dogs pulled Knoller down the hall to attack Ms Whipple.

While large, Bull Mastiffs generally tend to be easy going, tolerant dogs. Easy to live with if you are able to tolerate the drool.

I would also like to note that owner behaviour is the single greatest influence on dog behaviour. Any dog in the wrong hands can bite.

Deerwood Park is a camping/RV place. I swear earlier in these threads was talk about a missing RV.

Bull Mastiff's are a big choice of drug dealers in my state. Just sayin :moo:

It was bad audio during a presser...it did sound like RV..but it had to do with towing MCM's car...or pulling a car "over", which sounded like RV at first. MOO

The guy that 'found' the bikes was a firefighter who was dispatched to search for the girls.

Do you mean the guy that says he saw the bikes at 12:20ish? I think his name was Tim Gamerdinger? I think that is wrong cannot remember the last name.

Here is an image of the the reference to twitter tag #OpPedoChat that also references the CL phone number, posted by a self-described Anon "member". I dont know how to link to a tweet directly.

I am following them so will see if they respond to a PM. From a few days after the disappearances, I wonder if they were investigating.

Just got approved, have browsed this site numerous times over the years, this is the first one I've had anything to contribute to.

:welcome3:
Thank you for doing this!!!

No, can you send me a link or something? Sorry, I don't know how to use Facebook.

All I am saying (again) is that a reverse phone lookup on the CL phone number returns to the person with the name I indicated. Although, I only have a first and last name and a location of Waterloo, so perhaps the person I have is not the same in the article I referenced. (Although, I don't see a lot of people with that name in Waterloo.)

Irrespective of any of this, the name is still the same (up to a difference in middle name, perhaps), and that name is the one who is registered to the phone used in the CL ad. This is a fact, not opinion.

Of course, one possibility is that the phone could be stolen and being used by someone posting CL ads ...

All dogs are dangerous if they are not properly trained and socialized. I've met some pretty scary chihuahuas! In fact, I've been growled and snapped at by more little dogs than big dogs.

I'm having a problem wrapping my head around all the "advertisement/craig's list" type theories ... I'm still so stuck on this not being a random crime of opportunity. My gut just says it would be too hard to get to that trail and out without fear of being caught. I suppose, also, that maybe if they are taken by someone they knew and trusted, chances are they are OK (well as OK as one can be after an abduction ...).

BBM

"Without fear of being caught" is a pretty accurate summary of a psychopath.
