Eugene Martin was my husband’s family’s paper boy at the time of his disappearance. My MIL remembers being up early that morning and finding it odd that the paper hadn’t been delivered. She looked outside and saw Eugene’s bag lying in front of their house. She thought it was unusual, but figured perhaps he’d gone home to fetch something he’d forgotten.

My in-law’s were questioned when it was clear Eugene was missing. Their yard was also searched. I believe that day was the only time they were questioned. I believe Eugene’s parents are both deceased now. It’s sad how little his case has stayed in the spotlight compared to Johnny’s.
