On Wednesday, the Louisa County Sheriff’s Office issued a press release regarding a missing person. Forty-eight-year-old Michael Steven Bishop of Grandview was last seen at approximately 6 p.m. on Sunday, December 18 in Grandview driving his silver 2021 Chevrolet Silverado Trail Boss Edition pickup. Last contact with Bishop was from his cell phone at 6:58 p.m.
Due to the details in the report, search and rescue teams have focused their efforts along the Mississippi River. The search is ongoing, and aided by the Iowa Department of Natural Resources, Wapello Fire and Rescue, Louisa County Emergency Management, Muscatine Sheriff’s Office, Muscatine Fire and Rescue, and Oakville Fire and Rescue.
Anyone who has information, or has heard from Michael Bishop since Sunday is asked to contact the Louisa County Sheriff’s Office at 319-523-4371. It is also requested that any search efforts be coordinated with trained search and rescue personnel only.

LOUISA COUNTY- Investigators have released more information on their search for a missing Louisa County man.
Michael Steven Bishop Jr., 48, of Grandview, was reported as missing to the Louisa County Sheriff’s Office at 10:48 a.m. on Monday.

“The investigation is on-going, and many first responders and volunteers have spent the last two days desperately searching non-stop, as well as technical and forensic investigations have taken place,” the Louisa County Sheriff’s Office wrote in a statement.

The physical, technical and forensic investigations into Bishop’s disappearance is still on-going, and the Louisa County Sheriff’s Office says they will continue to follow up on any leads they receive.
The Louisa County Sheriff’s Office requests anyone who has heard from Bishop or seen him since Dec. 18 to contact their office at 319-523-4371.
The Louisa County Sheriff’s Office also requests any search efforts be coordinated with trained search and rescue personnel.
