Not to me, seems like they would get there as fast as they could. Seems unreasonable that they would set up an elaborate diversion and then go search.
Looks like Hwy 21 is about 6-8 miles from the center of Brooklyn, IA.Oh no.
What is the distance/mileage on this? Tia.
Yes, however, the exact scope/size of the possible crime scene area could be unknown. So possible contamination of evidence could be a factor if people arrive, even a ways out. For instance, in other cases, purse contents, phone, clothing, etc strewn a few miles apart.Well couldnt they just put an officer at each road leading to the search area and say they cant go any further?
Would be interested to know if there were sirens or if they arrived quietly.
Twitter from local news stations is probably the best bet. I haven't searched for one yet, fwiw.Has anyone found any live coverage of the search?
This is reminding me of Whitney Heichel a little
It could be because that's the 1st person I followed so closely on websleuths I suppose, not sure.
(Perps do this all the time, moo. ARS taunted the heck out of LE. Sometimes that in itself is also part of the big thrill. Not sure if that is applicable here, of course.)IDK, it almost feels like LE is playing mind games with someone. Maybe the perp is taunting them?
Yep he didn't remind me of the family camping "friend" in the DeOrr case, but the kind of interview kinda did...
[DeOrr we still care "little man"]
Seems like the search is near the pig farm, not at the pig farm. Just pointing that out. From what little photos I've seen, it looks like they are searching along the road?

Can you post a link? Tia.FOX news is live reporting
We're disagreeing about speculation and guesses about the timing of a press conference. Honestly, folks, who cares?? This search is happening and whatever it took for a solid lead, great.
