The odds certainly agree with you but to be fair, many didn't think Amanda Berry was alive and being held either. If I had to lay money on it though, mine would be on what you said :(
Yes, the odds do go in the opposite direction of being held alive, but there is hope.

There is also the emotional plea and decency of this family and their behavior - that might touch someone's heart to call in a tip, even if it's not for Mollie's safe return.

Everything so far with this case has had a soft touch, ykwim?

PC’s mainly about a reward is not a great sign, jmo. LE would not be focused on rewards if they had a POI.

I don't completely agree with that....

Expected speakers are the Poweshiek County Sheriff Tom Kriegel, DPS Investigative Operations Director Kevin Winker, and Iowa Missing Person Information Clearinghouse Manager Medina Rahmanovic.

I can't wait to listen to Winker give 10 more minutes of non-answers again. If I ever needed someone to stonewall for me, I would hire that guy. Rarely have seen someone say so much without saying anything. As frustrating as it is for general public, the guy is good.

I think after this amount of time that is what they are hoping for.

I'm not sure I believe the Crime Stoppers official ( sorry forgot his name) when he said that this really wasn't coordinated with LE. I keep going back to the PC LE gave and the question they fielded about a POI...and the non-verbal reaction to that question. I highly doubt that family gets in front of any camera without LE knowing about it and what exactly they are going to say... I really think this is a psy ops operation to flush someone out.. who that is, I haven't got a clue. MOO

LE doesn't seem to be focussed on the reward, though. They indicated this was a parallel process apparently lead by the family. MOO.

<modsnipped> The father seems convinced she’s alive.

This is gut wrenching to watch unfold.

I think Crimestoppers takes their credibility very seriously.

Interesting thought. I am conflicted. If this was in conjunction with LE guidance and support, I'm even more leaning toward this being someone very close to her. Jmo.

I actually think this might have been asked, but I couldn't hear. What if it's the PERP who wants to reward? If he calls and says, I have her, I'll release her for the money. Then what?!

Would be surprised if she was randomly abducted at this point given how everything has played out. Either it's someone she knew, maybe even casually, or left willingly. A random abduction makes so little sense at this point given what we know.
Based on the many other cases I've seen here, I'm still leaning towards a random "wrong place at the wrong time" type thing -- unless she left willingly which is at the bottom of my what-happened list. JMO.

I can only think that the cousin misunderstood the bf about the snap.
The bf has said prior that he opened the SC from Mollie around 10:00 p.m. and the next morning sent her a SC that was never opened. I think that is where the cousin might be confused. She wasn't there, just heard the story. We all know how things can get mixed up with hearsay.

I fell like the family are going to do their own thing since they arent getting answers. I would do the same. No one would be able to tell me to sit back and let someone else find my kid.

I kind of thought the same. That it was a way to get in touch with whoever took her. Like a ransom.

<modsnipped quoted post>

Wow, I got zero nerve vibes from any of them - each was poised and determined.

The Crimestoppers rewards I've seen in the past were for information leading to a conviction (or felony conviction.) It almost sounded at the beginning of the conference (from both Mom & Crimestoppers Rep) that this could be used as a ransom reward? Is this something Crimestoppers has done before?

ETA - meant "were" - my apologies!
Seems like there could be a very very fine line between 'ransom' and 'reward for safe return'. Not sure how much the difference matters if MT is returned safe and sound. I have no knowledge of Crimestoppers as an orgnaization but the fact that this effort seemed to have been set up without LE involvement/knowledge is interesting. So much we don't know but I'm glad the family seems to be holding it together.

Like the suspicions around the Sherri Papini case?

I watched the presser and updated all my peeps about the reward.
My personal thought on the matter is that answer is probably close to home in this case. I would love to think she is being held alive somewhere....but even that is terrifying to think of. Just horrendous.
This is a direct plea to anyone who is reading and probably not registered here on WS.
If you know something, do the right thing. Just do.
Phone it in anonymously. Do it for her family.
[we know already how many times the person/s involved are almost driven to find great places like WS to follow the case....if you are here, then you already have learned as much as anyone besides you and LE/FBI do. Lucky before or just lucky this time so far? It will be solved.]
Man/woman up. I don't hate anyone, but many do.
That is not a threat of any kind. Please do the right thing now. Right now. Things can continue to worsen...
Chi
