I actually think this might have been asked, but I couldn't hear. What if it's the PERP who wants to reward? If he calls and says, I have her, I'll release her for the money. Then what?!
You work with him. Contact is good.

Like the suspicions around the Sherri Papini case?
In the Papini case, wasn't it just some guy who offered the reward? This is Crimestoppers. I really don't think a long-standing, well-respected organization would get involved unless they thought it was legit and that they might be useful.

I am not convinced that “someone knows something” in most of these cases. In the ones with multiple offenders, probably, but lone predators manage to stay hidden for years or forever jmo. No one ever thinks it was them until an arrest comes.

I don't know what to say. I'm so sorry the family and community are experiencing this. Terrifying and heartbreaking. They do seem determined and I hope that is enough to bring Mollie home.

Yes, the odds do go in the opposite direction of being held alive, but there is hope.

There is also the emotional plea and decency of this family and their behavior - that might touch someone's heart to call in a tip, even if it's not for Mollie's safe return.

Everything so far with this case has had a soft touch, ykwim?

Dear Inthedetails,

I agree with you. There is always hope.

The other day I was thinking about K.Brown who was found alive in S.C. in a shipping container after missing for two months. Amanda Berry has been mentioned on this thread as well.

I realize that these are anomalies in disappearance cases, however they did occur.

I think most of us agree that the law enforcement are keeping information to themselves at this time. Perhaps this may be why it seems to be such a mystery. We are not privy to clues that authorities may have that they deem vital and may lead to this case being solved.

All I really know is that I continue to have hope for Mollie. Unless it is proven that there is no hope.

The man who lives by the pig farm and has 2 priors for stalking. I'm not pointing fingers at him because those were a long time ago and we don't know the circumstances. It could have been someone that he thought was cheating on him....who knows.
My question is, do people usually know when they are going to be interviewed by a reporter and on TV? This looked like an impromptu interview to me. He was nervous and unkempt. Personally, I wouldn't allow myself to be interviewed in a big case like this, unless it was my loved one at stake. Plus couldn't he or anyone refuse the reporter? He might not have known that though.
My gosh what a terrible position to be put in, innocent or guilty!

I'm still confused about that even after it was addressed in the conference.
The tip is called in or e-submitted. Then user data is scrambled to protect identity. Is the original data cached somehow?
Crimestoppers then forwards tip data to LE. If a crime has been committed I would think LE will still investigate.
How is the reward processed if it actually is a ransom and it goes to perp? Leave a cashier's check in a meeting spot? So many questions!

THIS.

I watched the presser and updated all my peeps about the reward.
My personal thought on the matter is that answer is probably close to home in this case. I would love to think she is being held alive somewhere....but even that is terrifying to think of. Just horrendous.
This is a direct plea to anyone who is reading and probably not registered here on WS.
If you know something, do the right thing. Just do.
Phone it in anonymously. Do it for her family.
[we know already how many times the person/s involved are almost driven to find great places like WS to follow the case....if you are here, then you know already as much as anyone besides you and LE/FBI do. Lucky before or just lucky this time so far? It will be solved.]
Man/woman up.

Looks like they just knocked on his door and asked him and he agreed. Probably not wise.

Based on the many other cases I've seen here, I'm still leaning towards a random "wrong place at the wrong time" type thing -- unless she left willingly which is at the bottom of my what-happened list. JMO.

It all hinges on the timeline. Let's assume we know that Mollie is up late doing HW at BF's house, this means she wasn't randomly picked up walking or jogging earlier in the evening like we all thought. Dogs were in the basement most likely scenario is she put them there, but we also know that they were not kept in the basement when she was sleeping there. So the logical question is how would a random abductor know Mollie was alone in that house late at night/early in the morning? We could speculate she was seen jogging and followed but how does the abductor know she is alone in that home? I do wonder if the dogs ever barked that night. I live in a rural area in a very rural state and late last night a dog did bark ( ask me how well I slept after that) and the sound carries quite far. If the dogs barked that night, they were heard.

Right like, what if it's the murderer?? He leaves her body in a field and calls and says, "I have an anonymous tip that MT's body is in this field." He gets the reward?!?!

ETA: oh wait, wait, they said SAFE return. Okay, what if he leaves her alive body in a field and then calls in the tip?

good afternoon everyone

I'm getting Dani Stislicki dad's vibes from Mollie's dad, which IMO is not good. Too passive

Could you explain what you mean, for those like us in UK not onto this Stislicki case.

The pain on her dad's face speaks a million words. Mom was able to say much more emotionally neutral. Not saying that's good or bad...I couldn't do it.

We've seen it before. Somehow the dad just can't get through it -- it's his daughter -- it's mom who has to have the steel to do it. Just makes me want to cry for him -- he's trying to be strong for the family and yet he feels so powerless.

LE doesn't seem to be focussed on the reward, though. They indicated this was a parallel process apparently lead by the family. MOO.

Not to be negative but rewards rarely work. We've seen this in case after case here at WS. I dont see this being an abduction, and Mollie is being held alive somewhere. My heart hurts for her family.

I'm assuming Mollie's family wants Mollie more than anything else in the world and are willing to take that risk.

Whoever has Mollie or has info - I do hope that person does the right thing. It's been made easy.

The dad seemed nervous clenching his hands, putting his fingers to his lip. I think this was out of genuine concern. He seems the opposite of the Mother and her brothers, they seem stoic. So, in contrast to them, the father seemed very emotional to me. I took that as genuine worry. That is just my opinion and observation. Dalton didn’t show much emotion, and he seemed dazed rather than stoic to me.

Neither of those two stood out to me....

After watching the PC today and listening to the NG thing, I really think she was taken in the morning. I'm not getting the accident vibe. I also am not clear about the contacts. If she slept in a pair or had multiple pairs, it would make sense that she walked over to her mom's in the morning with the red shirt on to get the car. My sense is that she was taken during this walk.

It looks like it was raining that morning, somewhat harder at around 6:30. She might have accepted a ride from someone that she vaguely knew if it was raining and they approached her. MOO

I totally agree and have said the same. I see it as a way the family can cling to hope and feel like they are contributing/leading to something tangible.
