https://www.google.com/amp/www.foxn...s-about-rash-missing-persons-in-iowa.amp.html

Iowa officials are concerned about their reputation with regards to missing persons, so they used time in the PC to dispel the “myth”.
Yeah. Social media has been relentless in pushing the theory that there has been a rash of missing person’s cases in Iowa. They found it important to point out that the numbers haven’t jumped at all, and the amount of missing people isn’t more than normal. Most of these people left on their own, and do/will return.

Does their city or county have arrest records, recent arrests or mug shots or those who have gone to jail there? Many bigger cities/counties have that. Anyone know?
I see nothing here: Poweshiek County Sheriff's Office

Or it is someone who is really close to her and they questioned that person the first day or two as part of the initial investigation and they are watching them. Maybe someone who originally had an alibi.

Good point. I added that 3rd option to my post

LE may have already questioned them and are watching him now while trying to gather more evidence for charges.

I employ about 30ish teens (high school and college) and we have a work "uniform" tee shirt. Teens come in all shapes and sizes for sure but I only ordered one small this year. So ... thinking outside the box here, if it was a small (she seems pretty tiny) she might have been the only one who ordered that size. This is all speculation but just saying if they found THE shirt and it was in her size, that could narrow it down to it being hers. Does that make sense?

Could ya all slow this down til I get back from dinner and jazz band.

It does. They would certainly examine it forensically as well.

LE is not revealing anything at this point. If they have a solid POI they are watching, I get it. But I hope we’re not here on months from now and LE decides to reveal that they are looking for a particular car in a certain area or they provide some grainy black & white surveillance video of a vehicle and they held onto this info to ‘protect’ the investigation. I can’t remember who I saw in the grocery store last weekend. I get that we need to protect the investigation, but at the same time if they wait too long memories fade and LE might miss that one tip.

Agree. Like in the Lyric and Elizabeth case, a YEAR after they disappeared, 6 months after they were found, the police came out with info they received in regard to an SUV seen in the area around the time of the disappearance. There were 3 times - 2 that came in right away and 1 a few months after that. They revealed this info and asked if anyone had any tips on it to call in - did I mention a YEAR later?

I’m afraid reading/posting etc has become virtually impossible. I know Tricia and team have been working hard to get things fixed. Hopefully it will be resolved soon. Making note to pick up at above post re: AH.
I’ve had some luck by switching to Firefox. Maybe try a different browser?

Daily/constantly I believe. The waste is transferred to the outdoor pit. Otherwise the buildup of noxious gasses from the manure become toxic to the animals in the barn.

Google anaerobic lagoon for a better picture and understanding of how they work.

There are large fans on the building that draws in fresh air. Here is an article about a father and son who were killed when they entered the pit.

Iowa father, son die from manure pit fumes

As a veteran elementary educator in a poverty stricken area, I consider myself a passsionate child advocate. I know that children of lower economic status (doesn’t matter race) do not strike a cord with the American public like middle/upper class white children/young adults so there very well could be a large number of missing children in Iowa and a serial killer. MOO

Is there a particular video interview with Dalton where he says he doesn't want to think about what happened, and he repeats the last words a few times? I don't fancy trying to find it, especially if it's on one of those sites that doesn't allow visitors from the EU, but I'd appreciate if anyone can confirm or deny the repetition of those words.

Do you mean these words, said by the bf, from the article:
"I mean everybody has their own theories but I’m just kind of leaving it up to the law enforcement trying to figure that one out," he said. "I don’t want to go racking it through my brain thinking of what happened, what happened, what happened. Just driving myself insane."

Mollie Tibbetts' boyfriend, brothers, father urge witnesses to 'come forward' in exclusive interviews

There’s always that possibility. But the point was that the numbers haven’t jumped from previous months/years.

Have you ever seen one of the big slurry ponds? I think it would take hundreds of tanker loads to empty it. And I'm just guessing here but I'd imagine that a body tossed into one of these cesspools would degrade to nothing faster than it could be recovered. I'm sure it could be attempted but I'm also sure there is a cost/benefit analysis that would have to bear out first before such an undertaking. It would be interesting to research and see if a body has ever been recovered from a hog slurry pit.
I'm more familiar with lagoons for cattle, which use larger ones than hogs, but for a large farm, they could easily hold 1000 tanker trucks of waste. But, a caveat to that is that it's summer right now, so the hog lagoons have likely been used to fertilize crops this summer, and are probably at fairly low capacity right now.

I find it odd that the fake FB page wasn't taken down. If it were just a troll and verified to only be a troll, wouldn't FB have removed it immediately? I've seen fake pages get taken down on Facebook in less than a day of being created. Maybe it's still up because LE believes it's the perp and they're using it as a way to communicate with the perp.

Facebook is stubborn and doesn't always act quickly.

I keep having thoughts in the back of my mind that MT had some kind of secret life/friends on other SM platforms that nobody knew about. Someone earlier posted a theory that my brain keeps telling me but I keep blocking out because I don't know her so am only assuming what her friends/fam have said is true. A scenario I don't want to entertain but have to at this point is:

- MT has contacts or acquaintances on some SM platform - maybe even POF/Tinder/etc. - could even be former people she knew or was involved with
- Person she knows but not many outside of her knows that she knows reaches out to her, wants to have different relationship, etc.
- MT comes to her senses and says no, she loves DJ, etc. and is going to DR with him
- Person knows she's by herself, wants to come over to talk, secretly isn't happy they've been jilted - perhaps they've even become obsessed
- MT is expecting someone so puts dogs in basement, grabs phone, certainly won't SM anyone because nobody is supposed to know about this person & it's late; won't need contacts because she's just going to talk
- Person has ulterior motives unbeknownst to MT - has the "if I can't have you, nobody will" attitude
- Talk goes poorly, MT refuses, person pounces, MT gone

I feel dirty even typing that but at this point you have to think it could be a possibility. I really hope I'm wrong but a random abductor makes much less sense at this stage than someone MT knew given the known state of the house, what she had with her, etc.

As we’ve considered in Abby’s and Libby’s case, perhaps someone in the area for work, farm delivery driver etc..

I noticed in todays presser the dad perusing the audience very intently. He must be looking for signs on someone. He seems very determined imo. Her poor mother seems so very sad. I really feel for this family. It's been way too long with no sign of Mollie.
I noticed that too and wondered if he is wondering if someone in the crowd took his Mollie. I’m not saying we should be suspicious of the press, just that I’ve heard other people who’ve gone through things like this say that they scanned the faces of everyone they saw wondering if they could be the perp. I feel so bad for all of them. And wished someone had been there specifically for mom today.
