Marshalltown, Iowa Police seek person of interest | WHO Radio News | WHO Radio

Not sure if this could be related to MT, but it's about an hour away from Brooklyn.
With the photo being in a store setting, I'm inclined to think this guy is some kind of serial store-scammer or rampant shoplifter. Police put out those do-you-know-this-guy requests pretty regularly for such cases. Good eye, though -- and it could be some subsequent, stupid crime that ends up connecting someone to MT's case.

Small town LE receiving this much publicity is the only reason why they are leading these postponed press releases on. Jmo

No clue but its an election year and we have to act like we have everything under control. Even if we don't.

Thanks for finding this info and sharing it. 64 feet long, 16 feet wide, 4.5 feet deep and enters into Little Bear Creek outside Brooklyn, Iowa....... I wonder if there others in the area ?....That is impressive .
Ugh, I don't like this! I am going to try to stay positive, but that is not good.

Absolutely, if it is related. Edited because I read too quickly and that is MOO. I AM NOT LE.

Then the profile about MT leaving with someone she knows would be incorrect right? If not they would of asked her family and friends.
Im not sure if its related or not and if it is then the fbi profiler is wrong

The thing that caught my attention, even though there is a word missing, is that they won't be releasing additional information.

Here's a question for the LE folks who post here...
If this was somehow related to the MT search, would the LE working her case leave their organizational name out of the headline, knowing that if they put it out that they were looking for this person, it would cause a media meltdown, and really muddy the water..? Just a curiosity... Kinda makes sense with the low profile that they have maintained, and it surely would cause a media circus.
If there was a POI they couldn't find, they'd be having that presser right now, and sending that photo to every media outlet in the Midwest.

I’m just so depressed about this case. I don’t want it to turn into a Tara Grinstead or Lauren Spierer situation. MT case is even more bizarre because she didn’t have students nor was she at a party with people. I have been really creeped out and checking to make sure I’ve locked doors.

If Molly is “gone, the perp took a lot of lives in the process. These people will NEVER be the same. Her mom said she is either going to heaven or hell based on the outcome (not sure What Laura meant), Molly was her dads “best woman” at His wedding in June and said that her dad was her “best friend”. Her brothers seem so close to her. Dalton looks lost. MR. Tibbetts and his new wife will be Robbed of a new beginning. She isn’t going To have the husband she married a few weeks ago. MY HEART ACHES

I couldn't agree more. Also what struck me about RT and DJ going to the fair together today reminded me of something RT said in an interview with LC and DJ. He mentioned that being in town he was glad to be able to get to know DJ better. As a parent of 3 grown kids I couldn't help but think how sad it was that he was getting to know the person who may someday have become his SIL under these horrific circumstances. RT appears to be a wonderful and kind man and loving father but putting myself in his shoes I know there would be a part of me that would be thinking WHY did you have to be out of town THAT night. Not that he would blame him for what has happened or think he was involved in any way, just a parent's desire that if they themselves can not be there to protect their child from harm, that the significant other take that place for them. It is unrealistic to feel that way but as a parent I just might if it were me.

Has there ever been a case where the reward money raised ended up being used as a form of ransom for an individual that had been abducted and held hostage? Just curious.

I was thinking today I wonder how long Mollie's dad Mr. Tibbets and Dalton and all the rest of them will be able to take off work to continue searching for Mollie. Everybody has jobs and I am sure jobs are doing their best without them but that can't go on forever. Everybody has families or themselves to support and it's been three weeks already.

There was a 20-minute interview this week with Dalton and both of Mollie's parents and this kind of came up, what's next? Her dad said at some point he'll have to go back to CA. And he says he never imagined it would take this long, he thought they'd find her within a week and it would be over.

That's probably getting the cart way ahead of the horse...
In theory, and I'm not in any way suggesting that this person is related to MT case in any way... But, say it was some type of friend or somehow they knew each other... And, this person has gone off the grid and become difficult to track down. LE would want to know if this person has been sighted recently, where he was sighted, and then they would put together a profile that would map out where he's been, and that would give them an idea of what his location is. Think the spokes of a wagon wheel, all leading back to a hub area...
But, again, this is all conjecture.

I wish some of the reward money could go to help them. I don't think it will help bring Mollie home.

I wonder too about their jobs. I think Christina Morris mother lost her job and her marriage for taking time to search for Christina. It is super sad that people are put in this situation. I know I would lose my job.

Or Jennifer Kessee In 2006, Jennifer vanished in Orlando, Fla., without a trace.

Which is why I mentioned "the forbidden topic". It's something the feds would investigate. The FBI and DCI doesn't just show up unless it involves something bigger than just a missing person.
For those who, like me, have never heard of these people, DCI is short for Division of Criminal Investigation.

The Feds can enter an investigation if local law enforcement requests them. It doesn’t have to be kidnapping, crossing of state lines, commission of a federal crime, etc. It’s as simple as local LE saying “will you please assist us?” That’s all that needs to happen, and it happens all the time, especially when local law enforcement is under equipped to deal with a major crime.
