I think the timeline of 5PM might be about vehicles or people in the area, rather than about anyone seeing Mollie

I am right there with you. Someone who would be in Brooklyn, able to reach Brooklyn (maybe said he was going elsewhere but could have wound up in Brooklyn between 5-10 PM.

*** this is NOT only a timeline for whoever took Mollie but also for potential witnesses who may have some tiny piece of the puzzle which will help LE find Mollie.

According to the Google car it’s a paved road that goes south and heads out into the country. I could get about a half mile and the Google car wouldn’t go any further so I zoomed back up to maps. It is V18 and goes down to Deep River.
Interesting...

This train of thought sort of formed while I was sleeping—- it’s like my brain just keeps churning the info no matter what I’m doing!

Mollie disappeared on a summer Wednesday evening. Just a regular old weekday evening. Who is out and about then? People coming home from work. I am looking at that huge paving/construction company right on the edge of town in Brooklyn. In the Midwest, summer is a mad rush to get road work/construction projects done before the snow returns. They do road work 24/7 around the clock where I

I had the thought a construction worker may be involved. He could have been on his way home from a job site, perhaps stopped by that office building for something, happened to see Mollie on the road, and just snatched her. She would be no match for a strong guy like that.

He might move around to wherever the current job site is, but be familiar with the town of Brooklyn because the company office building is there. A varying work schedule could hide being home early/late from a wife/family. Cuts/dirt/bruises the norm and not even noticed.

That said, my gut tells me this person worked his way up to this and has committed other crimes. Which could tie in these sexual assaults that were happening to women on rural Iowa roads exactly one year ago:
Women assaulted on rural roads in Linn and Black Hawk Counties, deputies say

I looked at the locations on a map, and these assaults form a triangle across this same area. Again, they could coincide with job sites or routes the perp took for work. I looked all over and couldn’t find anything about this guy ever being caught.

My hunch— this is a “cool & collected” type of guy, 35-45 years old.
This is good. The triangle could fit a spatial pattern, a radius that LE often sees on a map, then knows to look for a residence somewhere within that radius.

Edit: Lived a bit over an hour away when Evansdale murders happened. I remember feeling like that was so far away that my town probably wasn't in danger. That there was a crazy person up there, not down my way. But now I'm starting to think Iowa literally has a serial killer (even though the m.o. is, so far, different). That SK could live within a radius somewhere between his murders. I would bet, really bet a lot, a SK lives within 100 or so miles of where MT was taken.

(An O/T side note for levity, the other day I was at the MMJ dispensary and a man came in his full delivery uniform (major company)...I asked him “they let you smoke pot and deliver packages?” He said “they’re supposed to random drug test but they never do”.)

If he got into a wreck, that would be the first request of his company.

A former coworker slipped and fell at work. She had to submit a urine test that day as part of the workman's comp agreement. She tested positive for mj and was fired.

In Iowa, a lot of farms have backhoes, and no one would think anything of a farmer digging a hole on his property, and filling it back in. Hey, you gotta have a place to dump the ash and burned cans from the burn barrel, right? If you need a reason for digging a hole, plant a tree. With the right fertilizer, it ought to grow good and strong. If you have the resources and knowledge of the lay of the land, Iowa can be a GREAT place to dispose of a body. I'm sure that my former neighbor, after his 20 years of "college" education would agree.

Actually a backhoe is not commonly found on a farm in Iowa at all. They're expensive to purchase and cheap to rent and don't have much use in production agriculture.

<respectfully snipped>

That's interesting - road construction West of Brooklyn. There was a large road construction project in Evansdale right next to Meyer's Lake when the Iowa cousins disappeared.

I get your inquiries. I had some questions about why she would be running in the first place considering what was stated as her asthma triggers which is over-heating. Which is bound to happen when you run. It's unavoidable.
So, putting the two together it looks like she was trying to impress someone, leaving behind glasses and trotting all over town against health concerns be damned.
She seemed to be more concerned with how she appeared.

She had already had one year in college, we don't know who she may have met in her new life as a student. But, I don't buy the coincidence of stranger danger at a time when she was alone in a rare situation of all others going away. I see it as opportunity of being alone, by her. Why not?
I am an Optician. Most young adults are like this. I was. Young adults hate hate glasses. But I don’t get that impression of Mollie. She has plenty of photos wearing her glasses on SM. I think she may have worn glasses, as well, for a muscle issue in addition to her visual acquity issue. I feel that one of her eyes turns slightly inward (esotropia) in pics with contacts. We use prism in glasses to pull muscles where we want them. I believe she has inherited her vision from dad. Contacts dry up when running and glasses fog up. She was sort of in a no win situation.

What strikes me so much about this is how is her mom supposed to know? I imagine she told LE that she's not really living at her house. My parents aren't going to know where I was at 9:45 last night, and I'm only a few years older than Mollie. There is a reason behind this specific question...
I would imagine since they kept such regular contact the mom would be one of the first persons asked this question. It seems pretty logical, especially since she was expected at dinner.

We don't so I'm just thinking of ideas. If it's important I'm curious as to why.

And yes, you can see when a Snapchat was sent. If you click on a person's name and scroll up you will see your conversation history (though you won't be able to see the photo/video anymore). They are separated by date and you can either long-click on the name or swipe left to see the time that it was RECEIVED, which should be the same time that it was sent unless one of them had service issues.

Well, if you are correct , then LE should know exactly what time Mollie sent it to her BF. That would be good info for them to have.
That is not how it was explained to me.
I am surprised that received is the same time as sent. What if someone had their phone off?
My appologies

article said owner gave card transaction info to fbi. to be clear pics from last night were very different from news article I seen pics in this morning. seems from a different time period as pics from last night had a lot more to them than one I seen this morning. I cant keep up with what news from where has what name so I cant find again after I look and close.

I noticed that as well, thank you for that explanation. I thought something along those lines but wouldn't have your expertise to explain it

Gosh I hope Mollie’s family will get some answers. My heart aches to think about cases like Ali Lowitzer, Jessica Heeringa, etc who have never been found.

If a sexual predator, is this an organized predator? Experienced? Hunting or opportunistic?

ETA: this feels like Abby and Libby all over again, same questions...

Maybe the two dots we can't open are on purpose for some reason. Maybe the perp knows why and LE is watching him to get a response. idk.....drawing at straws maybe.

For the locals-
What is in the 2 dot area that we can not open? Is it DJ house and pig farm? Residential or businesses or cornfields? Please describe or post images!! Thx!

No apology necessary. That is correct that if one of them had their phone off the received time and sent time would be different-- just like a text. Snapchat works the same way except that it is over WiFi or mobile data instead of cell signal. It was just a thought-- this Snap could have been sent at 5PM for all I know. Just thinking of ways this all ties together, if it does.
