True, but, typically, those with time management skills and a list of tasks to accomplish are not going to run in circles for 45 minutes and then run or walk to get the car at sunset, all on an empty stomach when there's homework to do, dogs to look after, and prep for the next day of work.

One would expect that Mollie would combine jogging with collecting the car. It makes the most sense in terms of time management and ensuring that she's ready for the next day.

I agree. And running to her Mom's would not be considered one of her "regular" routes that she usually preferred, right?

I would, then again I only sleep 2hrs a night haha. There were times when I was training for a 191mile relay I would run 3x a day for 6+ miles at a time. What was I thinking ...

It's nothing unusual for elite athletes to train 6 hours a day, but Mollie was not an elite athlete. She was a recreational jogger who was known to jog to her mom's house in the evenings before dusk to collect the car. Given the timeline of 7:30 to dusk, including a 45 minute run, it doesn't make much sense that she would lose the light by running in a circle and then run or walk again to the other end of Brooklyn at dusk.

Yes I know but did she have to pick him up first in order for him to drop her off? Where was the car all day?

I don't have the answer to that

Hi otto
Looking at the map and reading your posts about the similarities, I am starting to buy into the theory that there might be a connection between Mollie's case and the Evansdale killings. It would explain the huge FBI presence and keeping information close to the vest.

IMO, I am a runner (9 half marathons) and no runner would run twice.

If you were jogging, how much distance would you cover in 45 minutes - on average?

Bringing this over from the last thread...
I wonder and maybe even lean towards she almost made it home but never made it inside.
I "wonder and maybe even lean towards" How much I love your posts... because you're almost always within the guidelines, non critical of others, on topic, intelligent and thoughtful. Thank you!

Ot but I am sure Pence was in Iowa anyway...not a special trip to meet Mollie’s dad. Iowa is a red state as far as I know and the praying bit would appeal...

I have my doubts as to Mollie being more than 20 or so miles out from town, if she is deceased. There must be lots of isolated turnoffs in any direction. I really wish LE would ask that entire region to search their lands carefully. I think she is out there. After such a bold (presumably) act of abduction, the perp may have used up a lot of his “rush” and might fear being caught with her in his vehicle if he drove too far. Also her chances of escaping or attracting attention would be higher the longer she was alive in his vehicle. Jmo
I agree that if deceased, she may not be far away. Unfortunately in that area there is a lot of heavy equipment that could be used to hide a body very well and one might never be found.

I absolutely agree with you. That, combined with the fact that the kidnapper is probably from within a particular radius of the abduction site, makes it very likely she isn’t all that far away.

I just watched SharonNeedles Brooklyn videos (thank you for doing that), and having not seen many (possibly a place or two along Mills, and the intersection with E 2nd), if any, good spots to grab MT, I'm still leaning towards it happening near bf's house. I'm also leaning towards more suspicions about that electric co-ops camera being out. Either that or the perp didn't even think about the fact that they would have a camera - maybe on an adrenaline high and not thinking about being caught on film? Frustration.

There's a thread elsewhere where people are exploring this possibility, Harmony 2! I'm beginning to agree enough to look deeper this weekend. I hope I have time.

It was speculated that him might have wanted to use the car first, but who knows?

Pulled this from the previous thread because I didn't see that it was answered and it's a valid question for those not familiar with the state:

Please forgive me if this has already been mentioned because I am finding it impossible to keep up with the rapidly moving threads in this case. I just had a look at the map on the findingmollie.iowa.gov website for the first time and something immediately stood out to me. On the map, in addition to the red dots indicating the areas of interest, there are also markers all over it that are labeled with a letter/number combination (either VXX or FXX). Could these markers have been added by LE -- for their personal use -- to notate the location of pings or the location of a network's tower/satellite/signal (like V meaning Verizon & F meaning FitBit)? This notion may be totally out in left field but is something I immediately considered.

Those are county highway designations, in Iowa it's always a letter followed by two or three numbers with one exception, County Road 105 in the northern part of the sate. East-west roads start with A-J, north-south roads start with K-Z.

When I am casualy jogging I do about 5 or 6 miles every day, in that time span.

Plus on this night in particular she needed the car for the next day since BF’s car was not available. I’ve agreed with you all along about this. Makes logical sense to incorporate run to get car on her route that evening.

I'm just wondering if she ran farther than we're assuming. Here are pictures of two possible routes. In one, it would be a circle from/back to the BF's house. In the second, it would be from the BF's house to her mom's. (The map generated addresses where I dropped points, so I blacked them out. And I cut the route off before it actually reached her mom's house as not to post exactly where her mom lives.)

The circle route is 2.3 miles. The route to her mom's house is 2.1 miles.

Mollie's track records from HS are posted online. In the 1500 meter (so, a little less than one mile), she ran it both times around 7 minutes. In the 3000 meter (so, less than two miles), she ran it in under 15 minutes.

So, for those of you who were in track and still run, how different would her jogging speed be from her track records? Would someone who could run a mile in less than 7 minutes jog at a pace of 20 minutes per mile?

I get what you’re saying. But my question is really about who had the car during the day. That day. Normally. If she had it and had to pick up brother someone might have noticed her from his job (if he has one). I’m just curious as to the routine around the shared car. Probably changed accordingly.

True we detest backtracking and running a route twice, but there are circumstances that could make me. I wouldn't like it, but if I had to....
Fellow marathon runner here.
