Wouldn't LE have already ruled in or out a connection between Delphi or Evansdale based on DNA? I know they said they did not think they were connected but I don't know if there was an official statement or just a "we don't think so" at a PC.

Then again, when Joseph Duncan was arrested in the Groene murders, only then did LE connect him to other kidnappings and murders. Even after getting the death penalty in the federal case he was tried in other states for the murders of the other children he killed.

At the time of the Delphi murders, police said there is no connection with the Evansdale murders.

I'm not great at making maps, so I just wrote out my idea for what her route was that day. It starts at DJ's goes around town, back past his place and ends at her mother's house (I didn't use her full address because I wasn't sure if that was acceptable). It ends up being 4.3 miles, which I think is a reasonable distance for that amount of time. Since she was said to vary between 3 different routes, I thought this might be the one she used when she planned to go to her mother's house. I hope I got all the directions in here - geography was never my forte. (In college on a geography test, I once put NYC in Pennsylvania)

I'm just really wondering though if she really isn't underground w because of the absolute lack of evidence leading LE to be so tight lipped. And would also lead to ANY POI (which we don't have either) to be able to act normal, move freely around town and even be reading this forum. (that statement just gave me the shivers)

The path from Evansdale to Brooklyn is virtually vertical. The Evansdale girls were found virtually vertical north of Evansdale so where would that perp place MT, farther south, or north of Brooklyn?

I posted the following in an earlier thread: LE should be VENN diagramming 100-mile diameter circles regarding the MT case points of interest and I will add, LE should include the Evansdale points of interest as well.

The overlap area in such a diagram would indicate the perp lives somewhere between Brooklyn and Evansdale... unless other within 100-mile radius abduction(/murder) cases might need to be added.

There is no other explanation to support the extreme FBI involvement in the MT case plus the $400,000 reward other than to conclude LE believes the MT perp has done this before and likely will act again. Has the nearby abduction/murder case in Evansdale set a foreboding precedent of what we might expect with the MT case regarding who is(are) the perp(s)?

The Evansdale girls' bodies were not discovered until five months had passed. We won't know if the SK has honed his craft to such a degree that MT will never be found but it might not matter since finding the Evansdale girls' bodies did not help LE to identify a perp.

Maybe the perp travels out of state? I doubt it. The perp is likely staying where's he's (statistically male) been successful.

How long until the SK needs to once again satisfy their craving?

Your first paragraph is what i have always thought from the beginning, but I kind of let it go because so many people replied to me that was completely normal to have that amount of FBI on a missing persons case. Of course this was before the huge amount for the reward. So you do think we can assume this is a serial killer they are already after? That's my feeling. I'm not sure about it being related to the Evansdale case because I don't know all the details of that case. Is there someway you can relay what the similarities are in terms of an MO for the suspect? I'm going to research it but that's what I wanted to know in the meantime.

While all of that is possible, knowing the culture of this area I think the fact that she seldom if ever drove would have been included in her initial profile because it's kind of a big deal in these parts. Understand that this is a town with no Wal Mart, no fast food or pizza place, no movie theater, few jobs, and no public transportation. People have to drive if they want to get anywhere so those who don't are notable.

If someone could post the link to MSM article that got the idea started that MT doesn't drive I think it might help understand this entire issue better as we have clear evidence from MSM and family interviews that she does drive and shares the car with her brother. Repeating the idea that she doesn't drive is a distraction from the discussion IMO.

Articles I've read said MT routinely drove to work in the am in the car she shared with her brother. MT Mother was quoted as saying that she would routinely walk over to pick up the car in the morning in order to drive to work. Articles also mention that her BF gave her rides to work or she borrowed his truck and drove herself to work. We haven't yet seen any of the friends come forward in MSM that might have given her rides to work in the past or might have been scheduled to give her a ride that morning. MT father said in People Magazine,
“She’s smart, she works hard and she is very poised, but her world is a mess and she has attitude and she can’t drive to save her life,” he says of his daughter. “She’s just a young woman like everybody else’s daughter, sister, or girlfriend. She’s not Saint Mollie, is what I’m trying to say. But we need her back.” To me this quote is saying that she isn't the best driver in the world but it makes it clear that she does drive.

Thinking about it being fairly easy for those in their circle of friends to come up with a $400K reward...what if that was reason for someone to kidnap her, for the substantial reward money they knew would be offered. Someone who was aware of the family's connection to those wealthy individuals.

Though you would think, if this was the case, they would have tried to claim it by now. Perhaps things did not go as planned??

That's exactly the road I was asking about earlier. I don't know if anyone answered me, I mentioned that gravel road and asked if that one led straight to Grinnel. I'm sure one of those roads do. If I remember correctly from the videos of Brooklyn it's a long road that actually turns into a dirt road and looks pretty isolated. But no one can seem to confirm it. I'm just wondering if that's the road you are referring to. It's before you get to the house she was staying.

During the video, @SharonNeedles reported that locals would possibly take that road to Grinnell. He also suggested that Mollie would likely not run there as it was dirt, gravel and had some pot holes. It runs into Historic 6 and goes directly to Grinnell, and also runs past her boyfriend's house the other direction.

The FBI involvement is necessary to supplement a law enforcement organization that has no experience with something of this scope. The reward money has nothing to do with law enforcement. It was raised by private individuals. There is no connection between the two, even if you believe that the involvement of the FBI signals a larger concern.

Proximity of locations (easy and comfortable driving distance) and an item in the LE profile of the Evansdale perp, specifically this:

• The offender may have attempted to abduct children or adults in the past.

convince me that perp has spread his wings to include Brooklyn. That, plus the intense FBI involvement are all it took.

Why do you say that? What specifically makes you think they are closing in on him, if that's what you are thinking. I really want him caught that's why I'm interested in whatever you have concluded.

I assume LE does not want to spook the SK in to relocating his spree or simply stopping for long enough until tensions lower.

Warn who? Which areas? Towns within a 200 mile radius? All of Iowa? Without knowledge of a specific threat LE would be reluctant to speculate in public.
