21st?? Does that mean she was kept alive for 3 days??

No. They always use the dates they were found as the date of death.

August 21? Thats interesting. I guess they didn't really know what date to use so they just used the date she was found.
There was a discrepancy like this with Abby and Libby as their DOD were a day apart. I believe there must be some flexibility regarding the date officially chosen.

Mollie was 5'3", not the suspect.
I don't understand why people think a woman is going to win fighting against a man. Men are generally stronger then women. And this was a small woman.
Right, ( this guy keeps getting shorter) and I agree, plus he had the element of surprise, she had no chance to react fast enough.

I apologize about all the quotes above.

My thoughts on the "sharp force injuries" are that they may not be actually have broken the skin. Maybe she didn't bleed.
actually if you look it up, the difference from a blunt and sharp force injury I believe, I may have not read it fully but it does describe the criteria which is cuts.

I totally get how you think it's insane SharonN because it is really stupid but just because it's illogical doesn't mean it doesn't exist. It does not surprise me you are unaware of it or men in general are not as it is something we women speak about among ourselves. There is much written about it in abnormal pyschology books but it is not written under a heading "little man syndrome" or even defined by someone's personal stature. It falls into the category of lack of self esteem and overcompensating for one's perceived shortcomings.

I think it's funny that the OP called it little man syndrome because that is what I call it as well. My friends do too. I guess one needs to date a short person with an overcompensating ego to fully understand the realness of it. Not all short men suffer from it and women who date or marry a short man may never have heard of it either. Those of us who have had the misfortune of dating someone like this have come to learn that it is a real phenomenom and can see it in some individuals we meet in our daily lives. I for one believe this creep suffers from it and his actions prove how violent one can get when they feel rejected or insulted in any way....over reacting to a perceived slight.

ive met many small in stature ppl who have "short syndrome" men and women. it exists.

Legal death is the recognition under the law of a particular jurisdiction that a person is no longer alive. In most cases, a doctor's declaration of death (variously called) or the identification of a corpse is a legal requirement for such recognition.

I agree with you. For a current example which may be a little extreme, watch the little person on the Big Brother TV show which is happening currently. A very cocky little individual he is.

The trailer on Iowa farm where Mollie Tibbetts's 'killer' lived | Daily Mail Online

That is an interesting link. Photographs of the suspects living quarters.

In my experience, that is a very atypical place. Most Iowa farmers (agribusiness) are German. Their places tend to be perfect. (If you have been to Germany you know the Germans are very organized and tidy) The suspects living area is a rural slum, and very run down. Most the German farms are well kept (anymore to be a farmer takes a college degree -- at least a BS in agribusiness, if not more. It's a business).

If we saw a place like that there would be one of two reasons: 'a bachelor' or 'Irish'. I don't mean to disparage anyone but that is what people would say. Being Irish, I know we tend to be pretty messy.

(Is that the black Malibu in the one photo?)

im fairly certain the owner lived nowhere near where the laborers lived.

She’s not “ex”- they were living together.
Are you sure? This makes it all the more unlikely that she wouldn't have noticed anything.

They go by when the coroner declares them diseased. Hes the only one that can legally call a death a death at the scene. That does not mean thats when it occured. That can only be guessed at by the evidence of the autopsy and the evidence at scene/scenes etc.

He didn't say he had a black out, he said he then "blocked" his "memory." This makes no sense whatsoever. One can't intentionally "block" their memory and then remember the act of blocking but not remember what was blocked.

All of his babblespeak tells me is that he's likely committed previous crimes.
I think by "blocked" he means he doesn't want to talk about it. I don't think he actually has a memory loss.

I think he means he gets in a rage and this thoughts get messed up and he can't think straight. He just acts upon the rage and impulse. As someone posted on a previous thread, it's "seeing red" (not a black out or block out). He can remember - it's just a mess in his head and hard to admit aloud.

I DO NOT have an ounce of sympathy for him, but I think that is what "blocked out" means. My guess only.

Not at all. It means that even though she was abducted on July 18, her date of death was confirmed on August 21.

This is very horrifying … I find myself trying to find ways that caused her to suffer least....This story is so bad... Putting the pieces together all I can say is that I hope she was not conscious while in the truck or any point after...

A physician can declare a person dead. In legal cases it may be the medical examiner.

In the first case there are criteria to be met.

It seems to me possible he could have been completely ticked off at his ex girlfriend and perhaps his inability to get any other girl (romantically), so in a jealous, p*ssed-off fury, he chased down and killed a girl he’d never be able to get and who was happy. Because he wasn’t happy.

But why would the ex girlfriend be sitting at the court hearing? And do his parents who were also there live in the Brooklyn area?
Good point. I did read somewhere he had accused her of cheating on him recently. I don’t recall where. Been reading a million places today.

They had him on Vid..Gotcha!

I believe Mollie did not hear him sneak up on her , he wacked her from behind, threw her in the trunk, took her to the cornfield , I don't want to think about what was done in the cornfield, killed her , covered her with corn. Left and got his car washed.
I believe Mollie would have fought him off if she saw him and won, he is only 5'3"
Where would he be able to assault her on the side of the road?
So it was like a hit and run and I pray Mollie was unaware of what was happening due to her head injury.
He "blocked" nothing out--just something he came up with after he killed her. I thank God he never got to Mexico!!!

5’6” according to the affidavit

FWIW, my unfortunate experience with a narcissist/sociopath is that the 'shame' is really about being exposed to others for what you are. These people are obsessed with a fantasy image of themselves.
Not to mention the fact that now they require sympathy from others to feel justified. It’s a big “show”.

I thought he was still with his girlfriend until he got arrested and that's when she moved out. Anyone else know something about that?

Also I didn't think it said stalls but leaves. When corn grows the leaves on the bottom die from lack of sun. There were probably plenty he could scoop up and cover her with.

I bet her phone/Fitbit are with her. It rained heavily that night no doubt ruining her phone. I think that's why they spent so much time at those farms. Her phone no doubt pinged for a long time there so LE figured she was held there for those hours before the phone was ruind or went dead.

ETA: Man leads police to body, faces murder charge in Mollie Tibbetts case - CNN

CNN said leaves
Initially I read that also, that the girlfriend is now living with her mother, implying she just moved there. We also heard it was cornstalks when they first announced the body was found so maybe it was a combination, whatever he could find quickly. About the phone, her boyfriend said it was turned off or the battery was dead first thing the next morning. I don't see him leaving it on though, I would think he turned it off right away and that's the last time it pinged.
