I know the freedom you are referring to. With all these stories of safety measures people use, I feel a little reckless because I don't even think about that. It is scary. I would only get in a car with someone I know , but from what many of the locals have said it isn't uncommon to take rides with people, as most everyone knows each other.

I grew up in a town that small where the same could be said but people there then and now would not just take a ride from someone because they knew who they were. I could look at someone and know them, their mama and their daddy and still I would not just get in the car with them, especially if I had another option. I think all of this "getting in the car with him willingly" talk is really beside the point. Runners don't take a ride, they run. If she was in need her mother and/or brother were just a phone call away. This day and age everyone has phone in their hand, even a runner. No need to hop in the car with someone you only know from afar. LE has said that CR and MT did not know each other. I also want to add, as someone from a very small town, we all know that just because we all know everyone does not in any way mean that we trust everyone and would get into a car with them.

So how can it be live streamed? Someone has to be doing it. Can it be anybody?
Perhaps. MSM has nothing showing live coverage at this time. I’m glad that it is not televised.

I wonder if the media hadn’t asked the family for permission, who maybe vetoed the broadcast? If so, I really couldn’t blame them for seeking personal privacy during this time. They don’t deserve any of the rabid FB critique that generally folllows.
I bet they will be waiting right outside the school.

That link that was posted before, it looked like the livestream was sponsored by the Des Moines Register.

Yes, that would be tacky.

I went on their site and it said check back later for information on the funeral. Perhaps it will only be shown later.

Yeah , I can see them selecting one media source to cover it, if they are actually live streaming it, right? Is live streaming basically news on the internet? So we will see it later?

Live streaming means a momemt by moment, live happening of a featured event that’s available for viewers to watch when connected via the internet by a person on location associated to the website that’s broadcasting it.

I finally got to a link that said, "Live event cancelled" Maybe the Des Moines Register thought they had permission and then something happened...who knows.

Or he called to her by her name. She being the outgoing, nice person she was slowed down to see who was calling to her from behind. Once he caught up and she realized he had bad intentions (or seemed off etc.) then the threat to call police and it went from there. Seems very likely he knew her first name and only takes split second when someone calling out your name (she had headphones on but probably could he her name shouted from close range). MOO and speculation on my part.
They probably would recognize each other by facebook if they have mutual friends, but I'm not sure they actually ever met in person. Or how long he may have been stalking her.

I may be wrong but I think the debacle on the shoulders of greedy Register. All was set ready to go until a last minute paywall. Mollie would be pounding her fists!! It's Register's content, and the livestream paywall was at instruction of the Register seeing how many were on the countdown and wanted to profit. I'm sure Mollie's public service held at her BMG school will be available later.

I can see that scenario playing out, they have seen each other in passing I can bet.
I feel he knew who Mollie was and her name and had watched her running in the past.

I believe family got word Register put up last minute paywall, and did not want Register to profit . Mollie service is public - held at her school to accommodate all and everyone wanting to celebrate her life.

There is zero way someone would profit from my grief nor would I want that 🤬🤬🤬 to have access to a live event that he caused. It is a private moment and should be kept as such.

CR's ex was a cheerleader in high school. Am I wrong in assuming that MT's two other brothers played football like the younger brother. Could CR and MT have become acquainted somehow under the Friday night lights?

Yes Jurors dont always get a motive. They do like one tho. Sometimes some evidence can give you an idea of the motive if there is a lack of evidence. Intent is needed to apply the appropriate charge.

In this situation, I think that CR's motive is obvious (sexual/physical/emotional desire) and goes hand in glove with his intent (a forceful fullment of his prurient need). But thanks for the clarification.

I still think it was a blitz attack. In my mind I see Mollie doing her usual run. So many great things on her mind while listening to her music. Her work she loved, Dalton, their trip to the DR. He came upon her and then..............
