See that is the quandry that I just posted about. There IS a case to be made for taking them to court that is totally 100% justifiable. The issue here is grieving parents and their desire to keep this as clean as possible in rememberance of their daughter. Not the best time for anyone to be taking on such a huge issue.

It is too bad that the community itself can't take a stand and file a class action suit against the farm. Problem with that is these are small town people who aren't likely to do that either as they all know each other and are somewhat close. This is were the government should be able to step in and do something about it. Fining them up the yang and perhaps shutting them down for a time to ensure they understand their part in all of this because they are culpable to a certain degree simply by their negligent hiring process.

What is the "issue" you are alluding to? All RT said is that he doesn't want Mollie's death to be used for racial discrimination. I interpreted his comments to me he doesn't want all Hispanics painted with the same brush <modsnip>. I totally agree with his impassioned plea. He's not made any comments about CR's employer that I'm aware. Are there links?

It's not a farm full of ninjas. They're immigrants, possibly legal/illegal. No one is taking the blame for a murder. JMO.

No, I certainly didn’t say CR is innocent - he confessed. But it’s a reason why he might not implicate others who were also involved.

And a code of honour can run the opposite direction as well. His friends/coworkers didn’t report him to LE yet I think it’d be really amazing if he didn’t incur any bruises or cuts, nobody connected a car wash, noticed no unusual behaviour, nothing suspicious whatsoever by those who knew him best.

As I stated before, I don't believe they would even consider it. There is no compensation for the loss of a child. Just as some people don't understand why they wouldn't do it, others can't comprehend how they would. There is absolutely no benefit that would come of it. If they want to raise money for a worthy cause, there are other ways to do it. Look how fast they came up with the reward money. As I understand they gave it all back. This doesn't seem like the type of family that would use the death of their daughter to get money. Also, why would he want to sue a hardworking farmer who most definitely already feels horrible about what happened? Why would he wish harm on someone like that? There is just no way I can see that happening. Jmo
Yes, there IS compensation for loss of a child and it can be used to memorialize the child with things like setting up a foundation, scholarships. The family had nothing to do with the reward money. It had to be given back because most donated understanding it was to be used for the safe recovery of Mollie. iirc, Donations from those who didn't tie their donation to that condition went to a state fund for victims.

Umm, his illegal status. Some people believe even approaching the topic is racist. So taking on that stance in a civil suit WOULD stir a pot and become a circus, therefore the "big issue" he or anyone else in his position might not wish to take on

A think a civil suit would be against those who employed him

CR will have his own day in court to pay for his crime

That's very possible. LE did seize two cars.
Is there a link to an MSM article that states LE 'siezed two cars" in the MT case? TIA and sorry if I missed this in previous threads. I've only seen LE statements (from the first press conference when LEO said CR was seen on video driving in a (single) car (dark malibu) back and forth, then led them to Mollie's body and was then arrested (with some details in the arrest affidavit that just mentioned I thought one vehicle caught on video) for Murder in the First Degree.

I think this story of “a second car” is derived from a photograph that showed the Malibu and another vehicle being towed away. I haven’t heard any confirmation from LE.

I sure don't agree with that logic. CR is an illegal alien. Nothing racist about that fact. There are people of all races in this country illegally. CR is not in jail because of his race but because he committed a serious crime.

Maybe I imagined it but I thought someone mentioned the possibility that it was stolen.
What the heck... Is there a link to any MSM articles that state LE said the vehicle CR was driving when he abducted Mollie was stolen? TIA

Thanks, I didn’t know they had to be here with parents

What did they do with the 50,ooo or so unaccompanied minors years ago?

Did they get some kind of status?

This is what I was sort of curious about because, as as didn’t land on the doorstep of Yarrabee Farms directly from Mexico, there’s a missing time gap.

As far as I know it’s never been mentioned it was stolen

It was stated it was not registered to cr

None would say a thing anyway. They keep very good secrets.

I think the discussion pertained to “used without permission”.

Right, we know he had family here, his dad said he did odd jobs around farms

I wonder how much his dad pushed him to come here so he could send money home

I wasn’t able to find a link that said even that. After LE determining the black Malibu was of interest, it was “traced” to CR.

For whatever reason, LE refuses to say other than it wasn't CR.
Probably because it's irrelevant -- CR did not steal the car. It appears he used it with permission.

That first section has helped me keep things in order.

Sorry I don't have it. Two cars including black Malibu being towed with a police escort.

If it is irrelevant, LE would identify the owner of the car. He may have used the car with permission but he didn't have a driver's license.

Yes for that very reason it’s possible he was either sent or arrived with his uncle.

As it appears both families are heavily invested in the small community, I think it’s unlikely to happen. I get the sense the Tibbett family will honour her memory in more positive ways rather than attempting to use the courts to assign a dollar figure upon it.
In the US many things are settled out of court; there could be a settlement and only the parties would know about it because of a confidentiality agreement.
