If he, as he stated, had her over his shoulder, carrying her, then placed her on the ground face up, it's possible the back of her t-shirt could have some of his hair. The rain didn't necessarily run in rivets under her body. The soil became soaked under her body, but the ground under her body did not necessarily run like a river, washing away every last dna instance. I remember Iowa soil to be very porous and soaks in rain.

My question is more to his thinking on the matter. Obv. we won't know his thoughts. I am trying to consider the crime visually, and psychologically, questioning what, if any, precautions he took in terms of evidence. How far ahead he thought of doing the crime, when & how concealing the crime occurred to him, & if that concealing was more in the moment or in advance.
Would they be able to match his hair after all that time? I thought it would have to contain the root, or follicle, or whatever it is that is only there for a few days.

Ashton did what to Mollie with blue pills?
I'm lost.

"Little Blue Pill" is a euphemism for Rx Viagra, used by older men for the "treatment" of ED (erectile dysfunction). It is covered by most all U.S insurance coverage. But U.S. women are fighting to have uniform insurance reinbursment/ coverage of their Rx Birth Control.

Medical science is currently working on a BIG "O" pill for women. I don't know if it is on the market yet. (No blue pill for Demi...)

The original question I posted this to had to do with the Libido of older men...

So can we agree that this was a nasty predator who grabbed Mollie off the street in broad daylight while she was jogging to her mom's house, or should we continue to argue that the suspect is a quiet, shy, nice guy with a young daughter who messed up dating apps?

I am going on the idea that her clothing was found with, not on her. the sports bras I have looked at are made for support and appear to be fully man made fabrics. I can not imagine one being easily removed by a non willing or unable to assist in removal so I would think it would end up all rolled up and with skin cells and who knows what rolled up in it and I think it could easily protect from rain.

Hair with a follicle is the best bet. As the DNA is protected and contained in keratin (the stuff
your nails are made of) it will last the longest. DNA can be recovered from hair after 100('s)+ years under the right conditions (cool and dry)

And that blue pill has been used in sex/ murder crimes.

"quiet, shy, nice guy with a young daughter who messed up dating apps" Omg, please tell me no one is actually stating this, overtly or covertly.

Right. By all accounts, he had a knife or other type of sharp object.

Pretty sure I read earlier this evening that perhaps she hopped into the car of the suspect, and then suddenly realized that she was in danger.

The reason I asked was because when Jodi Arias was questioned by LE, when they told her they found her hair she suggested it could have been from a month ago. They told her no, because it still had the root or follicle in it and that meant it was only a few days old.

when it comes to dna and fiber transfer I think it could work both directions, from him to her or from her to him or his car or her clothes. I do not think that is exclusive to any race or nationality, I think the potential is there for all. I also don't know that there can possibly be a fail safe way to be sure there is no transfer of dna or fibers no matter how well thought out.

Locard's Exchange Principle covers this WS's. You can Wiki it.

I think that came from someone who was not very familiar with the case.

the kind runners wear I don't think would even be easily cut off and not leave trace transfer like dna. moo

Regarding whether the suspect's DNA is on the victim, what if it has already been determined that the body is too decayed for analysis?

Unless someone can demonstrate what this has to do with skin latino colour, perhaps it's time to let it rest. Keep racist attitudes in check?

He probably started taking precautions as soon as he thought about abducting a woman. That is, he started thinking about all the ways that he could be caught, and how to avoid detection. He nearly had it perfect, but he didn't anticipate that police would spend days looking at his car driving in circles at the last location where Mollie is seen.

I can't imagine anyone thinking through how to avoid detection, and then realizing that the money you spent detailing the car is the mistake that revealed all.

The body may be in advanced decay, but they will swab and check for trace DNA just in case, if possible.

Actually, it's not Latino skin color that has anything to do with this. It is that beautiful, thick black native Mesoamerican type hair he has! That stuff has a thick keratin (the stuff your fingernails are made out of) coat, to better protect the follicular DNA from the elements. Hair is still the best bet to foriencsically link CR to MT. The type of hair CR has is thick, and improves the chances of foriencsically usable DNA being found after 33 days in the elements, in the damp.

I don't know where else you are coming from with this racist biz. I am Mistiso, meaning that my mom was a full blood Native Mesoamerican Latina born here in the US. My father was of Germany/French extraction. My post certainly was not racist. In the later part, I was mearly pointing out documents which might well contain his true name and age. A question that has be the subject of intense discussion, up and down this thread.

I grew up with one foot in both worlds, both in neither. I was cared for as a child by Latinas, and would come home from Grammar school, and get on the phone to help my mother's non-English speaking Latino friends with calling Immigration to get their status straightened out.

ANYTHING I said in the post you are commenting on comes from a lifetime of having lived on the edge of the Latino community, and of having worked in the inner city and gaining a fine appreciation of how the social welfare system works. I have lived in a homeless shelter and have used a SNAP card myself just within the past 3 years. I will stand behind and defend anything I said in that post. It ain't racist if it is your life. And I will say again, that my Latina Barmaid/Seamstress/Migrant Field Worker dear Mother would not have tolerated a boyfriend's alias on her daughter's Marriage Certificate or her Granddaughter's birth certificate.

There is a regular poster on here who used to do follicular hair DNA testing. Maybe he could say better. What I know is that the DNA is mainly contained in the hair follicle, and that REALLY old hair can be tested for DNA.

Also, I vaguely recall something about "dead hairs" that fall out without a follicle, versus hairs pulled out by a hairbrush or in a fight. Pulled out hairs will likely have an intact hair follicle, as in "pulled" out by the root. Pluck out a single strand of your own hair. If it hurts to pull it out, look at the tiny, white bulb at the scalp end. That is the DNA containing follicle, as it contains follicular cells, and most all body cells contain DNA (but not circulating Red Blood Cells)

I don't know what Wiki Forensic/Hairdresser BS LE told the woman in question or she said in response (remember that LE are free to lie to you as much as they want during questioning, EXCEPT for your Miranda Rights). But I would agree that a fresh pulled hair would have a moist full follicle, and a month old pulled hair would have a dried, shrunken folicle that would be harder to see. There is a whole chapter in Guyton's Human Physiology Textbook on hair that could likely tell you a lot more. Especially a newer edition. I went through the old green one, and the newer black one, what color are they now? If anyone knows, they might be able to answer this question better than me!
